Marvelous muffins, cookies and other decadent baked goods are your reward if you are able to find the entrance and make your way down the long hall - and are able to wait, since it does get crowded. The sandwiches are also stellar, with natural ingredients on freshly baked bread. Best time to go is summer when you can enjoy an iced coffee out on the patio with a pretty view...but January isn't bad either, since the hot coffee is also good and you can hide the extra muffin and cookie weight under a heavy coat. read more

Was disappointed with this place. Love the bread, but the location leaves a lot to be desired, and the help was as slow as I have ever seen. At one point there were 10 people at the counter while the waitress took five minutes to make one latte. And when one of the bakers walked out of the kitchen to use the bathroom he spit his chew in a cup right in front of us. Hopefully he washed his hands, but I have doubts. Will still buy the bread at the store, but I'm done with the bakery. read more

I'm a newcomer to Nashoba, but have been impressed by my first few visits. I haven't had any of their baked goods, but they look delicious. I've had their sandwiches and they're fantastic. It's such a nice change to have a local deli preparing quality sandwiches compared to the chains (Subway, D'Angelos) or the greasy local pizza shops. Their bread is fresh and is always crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the in side. I love the "build your own" option so I can select the sandwich toppings myself. I've only had their tuna salad and chicken salad on baguette and sourdough, but they have many other options I'd like to try as well. They place is always packed at lunch time, but you can call ahead and place your order for pick-up. If I had to say one negative thing, sometimes their sandwiches are so packed with meat and toppings, that it becomes messy and lettuce and tomatoes are falling out everywhere, so have a fork handy! read more

I purchased a groupon for NBB back in May and it was the best groupon purchase I have made, hands down. $5 for $20 worth of artisan breads at this cool bread bakery...which are AMAZING! Amazing to taste and equally to look at. Yesterday, I was in the neighborhood and decided to get lunch, a much needed americano, and a loaf of bread. I was in a hurry so I made very rash decisions, which is highly unlike me. I quickly said, "a small iced americano, the shepherd's pie, and a loaf of 7 grain, sliced, please." It was all inexpensive, very quick, and very, very good. With my shepherd's pie they included grapefruit slices and a very interesting fruit/nut bread in the form of a roll. No complaints! They are friendly and have a beautiful selection of pastries that I hope I can sink my teeth into in the future. The 7 grain bread had a surprise of a few raisins throughout which gives it a special flare. I've also tried the wheat sourdough sliced for sandwiches which was incredible. I wish I lived closer so I could take advantage of this cool, small business more often. read more

I eat here quite frequently since it's close to my work and there is the good and bad. Sandwiches are delicious, staff is friendly. Their drinks are yummy love their ice teas. Lines can be really long, sometimes I walk in and walk right out if it's too busy. I love the soups, chicken and pasta salads out of cooler but they are ridiculously expensive! Deborah's down the street sells their prepared salads and soups for less and they use organic ingredients. I've had a few bad experiences with not so fresh Caesar salads and a couple times with the burrito. however it's so busy I never want to say anything. I tried email with no response. Overall I love the place, I just wish the pricing was a little cheaper on a few items. read more

I'm glad that not many people seem to know that Nashoba is in the back of this ugly building, because, this way, less people go here. So, please do not go here. The bread is so good that I even recommend it to people who have extreme gluten allergies. We go early, for breakfast, when the only people here are groups of cyclists in spandex who are really aggressive about Nashoba's delicious coffee and breakfast menu, I guess because their spandex is so tight, which makes me really uncomfortable. The girls behind the counter are all very sweet, too, and are pleasant even at 8AM on Sundays, which is difficult to do, especially if you're hung over. There's even a free book exchange upfront, too, which is a lovely and communally friendly idea, and routinely features some of the worst titles ever published (I guess from the cyclists). Get a scone; it'll make your weekend better. read more

This place it a little steep to have lunch there every day, but every few weeks I treat myself. I always get soup and half-sandwich plus a loaf of whole wheat sourdough - it runs me $12.47. Since recently, I have to remind them to put a pickle in my sandwich. The service is very leisurely, so do not come hungry. Cafe provides newspapers, but regulars hog them - so do not be afraid to ask a patron for the section he is not reading. Bread reminds of the old country (I am from Eastern Europe). I have a baker's dozen discount card, but unfortunely shoe box rolodex that have been serving as the repository for years without any problems, recently was completely messed up, and no longer is maintained. Still, the sandwiches are tasty, the bread is crusty and soup is dense and flavorful. They also have a community bookshelf. Good place, especially in nice weather, on the wooden picnic tables by the eponymous brook. read more

I discovered this place when I was working in Maynard a couple years back. It was difficult to find and I can't say I expected much looking at it from the outside, after traversing a parking lot to find it tucked in the back. But, open the door, smell the fresh baked bread, and nothing else matters. Everything I've had here, from sandwiches to desserts, has been downright amazing. So much so that even now, living nowhere near Concord, I make the drive for the sole purpose of visiting this fine cafe. It's worth the drive every time. read more

A great HIDDEN gem. It is truly hidden at the back of some parking lots in West Concord. But it is worth seeking out. They actually have a parking lot on the opposite side of the brook and there is a footbridge leading back to the bakery. You have to enter the parking lot from a side street. The bakery has indoor and outdoor seating, much of it overlooking the Nashoba Brook. The sandwiches are delicious - all on their homemade bread. I had the smoked turkey with avocado and wasabi mayo - heaven. The wasabi is not strong, so you needn't be afraid. The #4 and the #10 sandwiches also got rave reviews from my fellow diners. The desserts look very tempting, but I did not try them. Very fast service. read more

Great bakery hidden in a brick building with a great view in the back. The place is usually crowded so if you are looking to spend some quiet time then go to Walden Pond or the other two dozen open spaces Concord has. :). The coffee was all I had and it was delicious. The bread is like a meal in itself. Got a huge, heavy bag of bread from my groupon.. two loaves, two bags of rolls, and a baguette. I ate about half of the 7 grain loaf in less than a day. It was moist and dense from all the grains, with a hint of sourdough and a scattering of date pieces (no they're not raisins). In fact all the breads I got had some sourdough in it. I find that to be a plus, but if you don't, be sure to ask first. read more

I have been coming to NBB for years. It's my favorite place in a 10 mile radius to sit and write, read, or have a coffee meeting with someone. The atmosphere is inviting, cozy and allows you to linger. It's also one of the very few places in the western suburbs where you can sit outside and not be right on the road! I love the hot entrees (strata, burrito, quiche) and the bread especially. I couldn't give 5 stars because the service is not always stellar, and today my $3 iced coffee was so weak it was undrinkable. (Hello... Iced coffee needs to be even stronger than regular coffee because the ice melts and weakens it further!) Also, please have 'sugar water' available for iced drinks! read more

Fresh ingredients and great bread make this place worth finding in its industrial-ish setting in West Concord. The boys (8&11) and I had sandwiches which we enjoyed very much. The staff working the counter were efficient but patient with the boys as they chose options for their sandwiches. No doubt about it, this place has fantastic bread, soup, and sandwiches. But on a recent Sunday (with friends in town) I was reminded why you're sometimes better off going to Concord Teacakes for a light meal and goodies. We were excited to try the waffle bar. But there is no sign for them (our first clue) and when we placed an order we were presented with soggy, limp squares. The quiche was very strange--overly runny and rich and made with some kind of smoked cheese. And the pastry cream in the eclair was sour. I hate to say it but these folks are resting on their bread laurels. So stick with the soup and sandwiches and avoid the overpriced, mediocre prepared foods. read more

I can't say we're regulars but we do try to make it over to the bakery every few Sunday mornings or so (and certainly if we're in town around lunchtime). All of the breakfast treats, breads and sandwiches we've had there have been delicious and the atmosphere is definitely small town with a great view of Nashoba Brook. read more
