My never ending quest for the perfect hashbrowns lead me to Nate's, which was further motivated after realizing it was on my list for years. What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.

The meatloaf had sold out by 11am, so it seems like it's still a popular item. I chose the country fried steak, which was crunchy and huge. It mostly tasted like slightly salty fried batter even though it looks like there's a good amount of meat. The mashed potatoes with white gravy was good. The broccoli was soft and slightly peppery. Staff clarified the cash cost (menu cost) vs credit card surcharge (3.99% of menu price). The grilled pork chop looked good (tender and seasoned well), even though it was thin.

Great service, convenient location with parking. I had the meatloaf w/ mashed potatoes and corn and my friend had a bacon cheeseburger. Both were ok. Nothing extraordinary but definitely not bad. Typical diner food. Good portion size for the price.

Not a place we would have even know about, but we were in the area and looking for breakfast. Tasty build your own omelette, perfect BLT, and great coffee. Service was very attentive and friendly. If in the area would definitely go back.

Bananas! This small nondescript diner, overwhelmed me (in a good way) with the flavor of bananas the cook managed to get in to their Nutella banana, pancake! The omelette with the hashbrowns inside was a thriller for texture, and with with the table side Cholula each bite was good for my taste buds too. Kat's Coffee and pancake syrup, flowed hot and fresh. We watched some chicken and waffles be delivered to the table next to us . I have a feeling I know what we're gonna order next time! By the end of breakfast, our son announced that this is where he wants to go for his birthday meal! Overall, this was a surprise. The people in the kitchen had their hairnets on, the bathroom was just okay. It was a nice meal to have between baseball games at Doss Park. Better than Chick-fil-A and open on Sundays for all the baseball parents We will be back to try the voodoo brew, Monday, meatloaf, battered to order chicken strips, and lunch!

I've been checking out the reviews of this place since I live literally a minute away. Decided to check it out and it was a hit. I ordered the chicken fajita plate for lunch. It was really yummy. I thought the chicken would be super dry, but it was perfect well seasoned, and the right portion for lunch. I also got flour tortillas and corn tortillas which were amazing. Not sure if they were homemade, but they are dangerously delicious. There was one waitress working and she was working at all by herself. We were pretty surprised that there were people coming in and out to a place that we thought was a hole in the wall for the locals. This was our first time at Nate's diner and will be back soon. So if you're in the area stop by for lunch, they have really good delicious deals.

Better than I expected -- don't let the looks fool you. It honestly looked a little sketchy at first and I wasn't too sure about the bathrooms... but once I sat down and looked around, it really wasn't bad at all. We ordered and the food was great! I actually almost finished my plate, which is rare since I'm so picky. The menu had a lot to choose from, and you can tell it's family-run. I even noticed a few other tables already knew the server.

Who knew? Breakfast available all day along with other goodies. Prices are right and the service attentive and personable. The exterior of this place is deceptive, with colored lights blinking and a sense of despair. The interior, however, tells a different story with colorful and well maintained decor. The big deal breakfast is a big deal. Come hungry.

Definitely a place to hang out with friends/family and grab a quick bite to eat. loved the SWEET SOURDOUGH as the bun since it was slightly sweet and had a nice squishy like chew. The sourdough element really gives it that tug that I love in bread. the patties are thin, lacy, and smashed. Nicely salty and seasoned. for the sauce I would recommend the SCALLION AIOLI since it was warming and garlicy adding a really nice punch of flavor. the SWEET POTATO FRIES were a delicious side (crisp, piping hot, tasty). Overall I have not much to knock burgerchan on - besides their lack of lettuce wraps as an option haha but they do offer your burger on a bed of lettuce. they also have super fun unique milkshakes like vietnamese coffee, black sesame, etc (I'd try that next time). lots of sides and protein patty options in case you don't eat beef. they also have chicken, turkey, and falafel.
