They have a good variety of flavors and in addition, have shakes and shaved ice. Was out near Manassas and finally was able to stop by here. It's kind of away from the busier part of Manassas in the middle of nowhere it seemed. A lot of people were there on a Friday night but there was surprisingly no line. There are 2 flavors of the day in addition to vanilla, chocolate everyday. You can only get the flavors of the day swirled together. And vanilla and chocolate swirled together. Or individually of course. They had some other flavors too. We saw people with big styrofoam cups and thought they were sundaes but we were wrong. We ordered sundaes which ended up coming in plastic cups that looked smaller. I got the s'mores sundae which was pretty darn good though so I was happy. read more

Absolutely love their milkshakes! The Cap'n Crunch flavor is my favorite and I always scour their Facebook page for the days they have it. Great customer service. Dave has trained his employees well. They are always very courteous and are incredibly efficient - the lines can be long sometimes but his staff gets the customers in and out in record time. read more

Never been a huge ice cream guy but this place has changed that. Been going here weekly for about two years now, and they just do everything right. Great workers and the owners are always around and love talking to the patrons. At this point, they know us and our dogs pretty well. We have gone through about 10 punch cards for free ice cream at this point. And we get sort of depressed when they close in the winter The soft serve is far and away the best I've ever had, and the hand scooped ones are great as well. They nail every flavor and constantly keep flavors rotating. Usually the only issue for me is having to narrow down flavors for my order. Favorites are Cookie Monster hand scooped ice cream (get a brownie sundae), and captain crunch soft serve. Tons of great flavors worth trying though read more

I've been wanting to come here for a while now. I pass by here everyday since my shop is across the street. I wanted to take a break to decided I wanted ice cream and hot dogs. With the name Nathan's I thought it was the Nathan's hot dogs and also served ice cream lol. This place is always busy and there always a line. The staff here is very friendly. The setting is very chill and relaxing. Lots of tables to sit at. They have all sorts and verities of sorbets and flavors as well. I've always been very picky with ice cream spots and this place I will return to. I even like that they have all the different sizes as well. With me a kiddie size is prefect. The price here is very reasonable. Great place if you want to enjoy the outdoors and get some sun. read more

Such a great spot right near my work for ice cream... dangerous! They even have dairy free ice cream which is unheard of as far as I know for most typical dairy ice cream places. And it's AMAZING. I would say the quality here is more like a 3.5 but I'll round up because of the excellent prices and the great selection. The atmosphere at Nathan's is very family friendly. It's in a parking lot, right next to the mini golf course and has a few outside tables where you can eat. They offer a flavor of the day and have a really diverse menu. They also offer shaved ice, which is great to see as it reminds me of my beloved snowballs up in Baltimore. From a variety of toppings, to sherbets, to sundaes, and to the really cool looking swirls (ice cream and sherbet mixed) there really is something for everyone at Nathans. I ordered the lemon lime sherbet twist with vanilla. The lemon lime was really refreshing but the ice cream was kind of bland. It just pretty much tasted like typical soft serve. If I'm on a quest to find the absolute best, I'd take nearby Kline's in a second. But for a more accessible, family friendly, and inexpensive experience where you want a lot of dessert options, Nathan's holds its own. read more

Stopped by here when in town. I decided to play it safe and just get a vanilla cone dipped in butterscotch, but the hubby decided to be bold and tried the key lime coconut twist. I almost stole his cone. Not that mine was bad, but the key lime coconut mix was amazing. Subtle and not too overpowering. Nathan's is one of the best soft serve places around! They give generous portions of ice cream that make it look like they receive no profit. The staff are all pretty nice and if they take too long on a dessert they will give you a free ice cream coupon! The only time I come here and leave disappointed is when the line goes out to the sidewalk. Good thing Kline's is not far away! This place, though, still beats Kline's and Frostie Moose. The unique thing about this place is how many dogs come here! There are so many different breeds! If you are a dog lover, than this is the place! This is definitely my first choice to go for soft serve and would recommend this place to anyone! This place serves soft ice cream. It's pretty decent. They have a lot of varieties of flavors and toppings. You can get it dipped in chocolate with crushed nuts or any type of topping you can imagine. They also serve floats and sundaes and banana splits. I don't know what else they serve. It's a pretty big menu for such a small place. The ice cream is half-decent. I'm not going to sing praises about it. But the location is decent too, and that seems to be the main attraction. They have a large outdoor seating area, and you can sit there and eat your ice cream and check out the other people. The area is very diverse. Sometimes you think the United Nations has moved to town. And it still has plenty of old time Virginia hicks. There are always interesting people to watch. read more

I am so glad they aren't closer because I would weigh 500 pounds. =) There was a long line but workers know what they are doing and move you through pretty quickly. They were also very nice. Hubby had a banana shake and thought it was pretty good. Son had a small S'mores sunday and thought it was the best sunday ever. Daughter likes things simple and just had a chocolate kiddie cone and enjoyed it. I had the regular size Strawberry Cake Sunday. OMG, it was awesome. It's like a strawberry shortcake sunday but they just use cake instead. They actually take the time to warm the cake! Divine. I will definately get a 1/2 order next time, though. Business trip, finishing up dinner with coworkers in old town Manasses, And one says: " that was just about perfect, back to the hotel I guess?" Well, I said, if you really want to end the night off right ...we need to find one of those local ice cream places! You know...small white painted building, short counter sticking out with a little window, fluorescent lights glowing through yellow plastic, low overhanging roof, like a beacon on the edge of town. Not like a Dairy Queen, but a LOCAL place! Everyone goes there on summer nights, long line but because it's that freakin' good! And people used to go there way back in highschool still go there. They look at me incredulous "you think there is a place like THAT around here?!" Oh YEAH! I assure, Looking around They have a frickin' bandstand over there, motioning to the distant expanse with live music and people just walk over from their homes sitting around drinking lemonade and what not.. Nathans has the best ice cream. Lots of different flavors such as Black Rasberry, Bannana, Pumpkin,Mint Chocolate. The owner Dave runs a tight ship, the place is immaculate all the time. Feel free to bring your dogs, they have pup cups with a biscuit for your furry friend. Sometimes the lines get quite long...however it is never a long wait. Really really good soft serve ice cream here. I look forward to stopping by whenever I'm in the area. I usually get a vanilla cone/cup but this past trip I tried the Black Cherry out of curiosity. Black Cherry ice cream is one of my absolutely favorite flavors but the cherries usually mean its traditional ice cream only so I wondered how Nathan's was going to dish this flavor out of the soft serve dispenser. Turns out they infuse the vanilla with black cherry syrup. Ingenious. You get presented with what looks like just straight vanilla that someone has air brushed some reddish-purple highlights on but as you eat through the swirling goodness the syrup starts to ooze out little by little. Excellent! Skip the butterscotch topping though. Its cold and has an odd gritty texture. read more

Yummy yummy yummy! I love this place because they have shave ice - i LOVE shave ice!!! And it's not that icky granular stuff - it's actually shaved shave ice. LOVE IT!!! They have lots of flavors, too - I can't seem to pick anything but grape, but I always want to... The next best thing about this place is that they have peanut butter dip for their ice cream - hells yeah! Chocolate soft serve with peanut butter dip on a cone - does life get any better? They have all kinds of good stuff. My husband loves their brownie sundae. After a movie and dinner at Manassas Cinemas, there's nothing better than strolling over to Nathan's for a little dessert to finish off the evening. Awesome. Go. Just go. Best soft serve you'll ever have. Be warned - line gets very long on warm summer nights, but the wait is 100% worth it. Really affordable and creamy soft serve ice cream is the star of this place, but they have other yummy options (like shaved ice) if that's not your thing. They also have pup cups! I can't say enough good things about Nathan's. Their soft-serve ice cream is literally the best I've ever had. Tonight we went and I was all ready to order their signature Fresh Banana soft serve but alas, it was not on the menu. So I asked for a sample of their Cap'n Crunch because it sounded intriguing, and wow! Wasn't too sweet and tasted just like Cap'n Crunch. And oh so creamy! Their service is wonderful, the lines are long but they move fast. All employees are friendly and patient. It's not in the best location, shopping center is a bit janky, but well worth it. This place was a great find and the redeeming factor in an otherwise unsuccessful dinner trip out to Manassas. Super delicious, creamy soft serve ice cream and a fun place to hang out. As others have mentioned, there was a pretty long line but we didn't wait more than 10 minutes to get up to the front to place our order. Serving sizes are very generous, so big bang for your buck.
