We ordered a scoop of the lemon sorbet and a scoop of the raspberry sorbet - both were super creamy, refreshing, tangy and tart, and super fresh! We also picked up cold-pressed pineapple, watermelon, and lemonade juices from the fridge; just note that once they run out, they run out! The owner was kind enough to take a few minutes to tell me her story. All the additives and chemicals, commonly found in the US food and diet were making her family sick. As a wife and mother, she decided to go all-natural, organic and healthy for the product used and enjoyed by her family. The problem is that it's tough to do this easily unless you make your own food. Noticing the few options available to her and her family, she decided to open Sweet Zen. If you are looking for a totally guilt free, healthy,made from scratch treat then definitely check this place out. The base for the "nice cream" is banana, oat milk or coconut milk all frozen with liquid nitrogen. Add fresh ingredients like fruit, lavender, or matcha and you have one tasty treat! Update 9/28/2020: I went in again today for lunch (ToGo). First I must say I'm so happy they moved to this new location, the space is perfect and love the outdoor seating. Today I got the falafel wrap lunch, I just devoured it. It was absolutely amazing, so flavorful, fresh, and the fresh made wrap and homemade Tzatziki sauce topped it off. First, I love that YELP is reminding you that this is during the pandemic. I often feel that people are forgetting that, and are critical of things that can't be helped with our current challenges. Second, I also love this place! We stopped for an immune booster juice, and decided to have lunch. Neither of us are vegetarian, and our main eating philosophy, if you will, is to eat as little processed food as possible and easy on the sugar. There were 2 lovely girls who helped make up my mind, one said she was a meat eater and loved the zenburger. Agreed! The other said the 5 bean burrito was delish. Yup! The side salad was very good. Tasty dressing. Both recommendations were spot on. Lots of wonderful flavor, as well as texture. My hub and I said we could be vegan more often if the food was prepared like this. Horrible! I had a Buddha bowl from them and immediately threw up afterwards. I called to explain what happened in case something was contaminated but the lady was not empathetic and did not issue me a refund. I will not go back and I would not recommend. We saw them on a list of Black-owned businesses and saw that they were local. We got the green smoothie, celery juice, and lemon, ginger, and tumeric shot. The owner's mom was there all day and told us that she made the juices and shots in the morning for customers. Super nice lady and great customer service. She mentioned that she's helping to train some new hires so it may take some time to get drinks out. It took some time for us to get our drinks but it was worth the wait. The straws are also made from an organic materia, explaining why they look discolored. They also sell CBD and other organic products in the store. The base is definitely NOT suppose to be so soupy. I've asked for it to be thicker and it's still always the same result making it hard to enjoy. I have enjoyed their smoothies before but I noticed too that one day will be sweeter than the other.. or will taste fruitier than the other. I really do like this place. I've been here twice and I love the different options they have. I ordered the "under the sea" which was good and then the second time the "chocolate delight" with coconut milk. I liked the second one better. My husband is pretty picky and he didn't like the one you offer with mint which was kind of disappointing but he will get something else next time.
