I specifically chose National Appliance Warehouse because they promised a level of expertise and customer service that justified buying from a specialty appliance dealer instead of a big box retailer. My wife and I built a new kitchen addition onto our home this year, and after spending hours researching appliances and where to buy them, we chose National Appliance Warehouse because they emphasized that they would help us select the right products, stand behind what they sold, advocate for us with the manufacturer, and handle any warranty issues that might arise--even years down the road. That was their sales pitch, and it was the reason they earned our business. Unfortunately, from the day our appliances were installed, that has not been our experience. We purchased a Thor professional-style range along with the matching Thor hood that was recommended to us. From the day it was installed, the hood has never performed properly. During normal cooking, it fails to remove smoke from the kitchen. Within minutes, the smoke is bad enough to set off the smoke detector in the next room. This isn't a cosmetic issue or a matter of preference, it is a functional problem that has existed since day one. When I contacted National Appliance Warehouse, I was immediately directed into Thor's warranty process. After weeks of delayed communication, I was told to locate and pay for a third-party service technician because Thor claimed they didn't have one in my area, even though I live just 15 minutes from a major city. That technician documented performance concerns and noted that the hood may not be properly sized for the application. Looking at the installation, the hood is also noticeably shallower than the range itself and does not extend over the front burners. After more follow-up on my part and very little communication from either Thor or National Appliance Warehouse, Thor eventually located a technician and sent him to my home. He spent only a few minutes at the house, most of that time outside looking at the exterior duct vent, which was never the issue. He never inspected the hood's motor or blower assembly. When I asked questions about the hood, the range, and whether the hood's airflow was appropriate for the range's BTU output, he wasn't able to answer them. After speaking with his manager, he returned with paperwork stating there was nothing wrong with the hood and asked me to sign it. I declined because it did not accurately reflect what we had just observed. Throughout this process, National Appliance Warehouse has maintained that because the hood is Thor's matching model and was a special-order item, they have no responsibility beyond offering to sell me a different hood at an additional cost. That's the most disappointing part of this experience. Whether the hood is the correct model on paper is beside the point. It has not functioned properly since the day it was installed. This is the point that has been lost throughout this entire process. My complaint has never been that I simply wanted a different hood, it has always been that the hood I purchased has never worked properly. I escalated my concerns to Scott, the General Manager at National Appliance Warehouse, hoping the company would stand behind the products they sold as promised. What began as what I hoped would be a productive conversation became increasingly dismissive. Rather than acknowledging that the hood had never functioned properly, the discussion shifted to repeatedly explaining why National Appliance Warehouse was not responsible and offering to sell me another hood at my expense. I'm now left with a brand-new kitchen and a ventilation system that has never worked as intended. Instead of helping resolve the problem, the proposed solution is for me to spend even more money replacing a hood that has never functioned properly. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I simply wanted National Appliance Warehouse to stand behind the products they sold by exchanging the hood or working toward a fair resolution. Instead, the responsibility has been pushed entirely onto me, despite the promises that were made when they earned my business. I genuinely wanted this experience to end differently. I would much rather update this review to say that National Appliance Warehouse stepped up, stood behind its customer, and made the situation right. I hope National Appliance Warehouse chooses to resolve this matter. If they do, I'll gladly update this review to reflect my complete experience. read more

We bought a dishwasher from National Appliance with the accompaning cost of installation. The dishwasher was a replacement for an existing dishwasher. The delivery and installation was set by the company for a Saturday, The technicians dispatched to our home did not wear booties into our house, complained they had to remove items from under the sink and were very vocal that they had to work on a Saturday. With less than a cursory look at the site, they said they could not complete the installation. They also were unhappy that they had another delivery scheduled after ours. No assisatnce was available from the salesman when we called with the technicians still in our home. We wished to decline the delivery and were told by sales "we would be charged anyway". Bought my 2nd appliance from this location in November of 2025, the refrigerator, Samsung, arrived with a damaged panel, the day of the delivery I informed National appliance of Middletown that there was a damaged panel I was calm and polite, was told the panel would be ordered and I would get a phone call in 6 to 8 weeks, it is March 12th of 2026 and I have had a 2nd phone call a week ago to National appliance to inquire about my panel was told somehow it was NEVER was ordered but I was assured THIS TIME it would get ordered and I would get a phone call to confirm the Samsung representative had be contacted and the part was ordered, however I have not heard a word from National appliance. My suggestion is Home Depot or Lowes across the street, prices are similar if not lower. I wanted to support a small appliance company, in this case my mistake!!! read more

Worst experience I have ever had. First delivery they were missing parts. So they left, and partially put the "new" dishwasher in the spot. 2 weeks later they come back, no one knows what is going on, and they "install" the dishwasher, and when I go to use it and there are dishes in it-it falls forward and slams into my counter- no one ever secured, it so now it bangs back and forth. I called left a message. No one calls for a week, after 2 calls. Then it starts leaking. They blame it on me, and say they can't do anything about it. They can send someone out a (third) time. I ask to talk to the manager multiple times and he is conveniently -every single time and can't ever call back. This won't be the only negative post I put up. We purchased a new refrigerator and the first time it was delivered; the delivery crew dented the appliance. They also didn't re-attach the fridge door side properly, so when they were moving it into place, they scratched up my hardwood floors and didn't even mention it (photo attached). They installed the water line wrong, so it was leaking. Then, their truck broke down in front of my house blocking all traffic. While they were waiting for a repair to come (2 hours), they were smoking pot in the truck, in front of my house and I live in a neighborhood with many families with young children. We reached out to the company to share all of this, and the good news was they agreed to replace the dented appliance. We specifically requested in writing that they NOT send the same delivery & installation crew. We also requested that someone come look at the scratches in our floors. Not only did they send the SAME delivery & installation crew, but they also refused to look at the scratches quoting that the delivery men's photos (the ones that were smoking pot) didn't feature the floor, so there's no proof that they scratched our floors. We would've hoped the second installation was better, but it wasn't. We had to purchase a new line ourselves since they stripped down the one, they used and it wasn't installed properly. Both my husband and I have reached out separately to the company to ask them to address all of this, and we have not heard back. We even asked for a free extended warranty as a compromise for all the trouble and awful service. We thought that was a reasonable compromised but have heard nothing. Last but not least, periodically, the appliance screen says, "power outage" and lights up like a Christmas tree - so something is wrong with the wiring in the appliance. Needless to say, this has been the WORST experience we have ever had purchasing a major appliance. The WORST non-existent customer service and accountability. We are also concerned that a driver of a large commercial vehicle is able to smoke pot on the job in a neighborhood, drive and work. Bought a Bosch dishwasher in 2023 with the extended warranty. It has been broken for two weeks now. Warranty company refused to send someone out when it first broke to assess the problem, and insisted they know which part it needs, and apparently the part is indefinitely back ordered and now we can't get a response about timing, and have no confidence the part will fix the problem they haven't evaluated (we also paid another repair company to get a second opinion that suggested something else). This does not make me want to buy anything from this store again, which is unfortunate because we have done a lot of business here over the years. They need a different warranty company if they want to preserve their reputation. read more

Purchased a washer and dryer. They were stacked on top of each other. I assumed doors would open the same way. No they open in opposite directions so if not real careful could hit your head. My old units had doors open on the same side. The plastic was not removed. A unit is scratched. The old washer and dryer were to be removed. They were not instead the workers left them at end of driveway. I had to remove them myself because the store could not get anyone back that day. Excellent deals! My fridge and freezer are Northland, which they "custom build" (marketing bs) so couldn't get those at an outlet. Stove is BlueStar, also bought direct, so again no outlet. But for ovens, microwave and dishwasher, I was outlet all the way because I can get the higher end of the Bosch line there. Do not think you won't find mid- to higher-range appliances here. You never know. Just call and ask for the specific model you're after. I have been lucky to find exactly what I wanted for my kitchen from Bosch. If it's a brand they carry, your model will show up sooner or later! I'd gotten our Bosch double oven unit at the former Sears outlet in Newark, so with that gone, it was time to find a new outlet. Delighted to find NAW on 202, much closer to me in Wilmington. Called, gave my model of top-end Bosch dishwasher, they had ONE, ready to go! No scratches or dents, plastic cling still all over it! They kindly held it, and it was in the car riding home within an hour! Staff was friendly and super helpful! They offered extended warranties which, depending on manufacturer warranty length, are really helpful. They also helped load the appliance into the car! Awesome! read more

Beware! This company does not stand behind the products they sell! In January 2024 I purchased a GE refrigerator from this company. About 3 months later the refrigerator began to stop cooling intermittently and the fridge temp would rise to 60 degrees resulting in spoiled food. I called the store and they put for in a warranty repair with GE. After 4 service visits which did not solve the issue I called National Appliance asking for their help, but I was told they could do nothing and I needed to continue working with GE. After the 5th unsuccessful service visit GE agreed to replace the fridge. The first replacement was delivered but was dented and returned. The 2nd and 3rd replacements were also dented and returned. My refrigerator has not been working properly for 4 months now and I'm still waiting for resolution. read more

So...first let me say go somewhere else. I purchased a dishwasher. When I spoke to the sales rep- I told her I needed two things 1. To be quiet and 2. To actually dry the dishes. She told me which dishwasher to order. I listened to her expertise and had it installed. When installed it was absolutely insanely loud. Worst customer service I have ever experienced when purchasing a high end appliance. No follow up from time of purchase regarding updates for delivery status. We continually had to call and were told our sales representative would get back to us. Never happened. Finally told our Sub-Zero Pro should be in on Jan 31st. Date came and went. Not until we called that we were told unit was in and sales rep would call us regarding delivery. He emailed telling us he would need to schedule with delivery technicians. Still waiting. Honestly if I had to do it again I would pay more from another dealer in order to receive better service and communications. My thoughts are they made the deal collected their money and moved on to next sale. Excited for our Sub Zero but service from this dealer has been Less Than Zero since time of sale. read more

The subcontractor that I have a relationship with that does custom appliance installs, after their last interaction with you said they will no longer do work for you. Wish I read the reviews first. This place is the absolute worse. I purchased a washer and dryer and explained to the sales rep prior to purchasing that it would be a tight move into the home. I explained that the last "full size" washer and dryer that was I bought was taken in through the basement door and the door had to be taken off the hinges to do so. I explained access from the kitchen to the basement was tight because of how the refrigerator sits in the kitchen. I also explained that they would not be able to use a hand truck because it won't fit that way. I explained the last delivery guys used "moving men" straps and was able to walk the products in that way. I was assured that they could do it and the sales guy stated he was putting the notes in so the delivery guys would know. When the delivery guys reached my house they were in a hurry and made it a point to let me know they were behind schedule, didn't have time, and needed to get to their next stop. One of the guys walked through the house and then told me that I needed to reschedule because I wasn't ready and he didn't have time to wait. I asked what was needed and he stated that the refrigerator needed to move so they could go through the basement doorway in the kitchen. I asked how far do you need it to move? He stated you need to empty it and I don't have time to wait for you to do that so we can move it. I asked again where do you need it moved to? He pointed out a space and I told him I could move it in less than 5 minutes. It does not need to be emptied the refrigerator will slide easily across the floor. He said okay and I began moving the refrigerator. It took me 3 minutes to move it to where he stated and when I went to tell him it had been moved the truck was gone. They jumped in the truck and left. Then told the dispatch and store that they could not make the delivery due to the kitchen counter being in the way and the need to lift the units over the counter. They blew off the job and told a complete lie. The salesman then called me and told me I needed to pay an additional $300 for a different delivery crew to deliver due to that. I explained to the salesman that the delivery guys are full of crap and lying. He told me I needed to move the refrigerator but did not have time to wait because they were behind and needed to get to their next stop. After a lot of back and forth I was then told I had 2 options. 1. Pay the $300 for a different delivery company or 2. I could return the units but will have to pay a 20% restocking fee. I explained that was not acceptable. Their delivery people walked out and told me they didn't have time. They were in a rush because they were behind schedule and needed to get to the next stop. As my son said "they showed up to leave". The entire 5 minutes they spent in the house was filled with complaints about them being behind schedule. A bunch more back and forth and then I was told I had 3 options. 1. pay the $300 for another crew; 2. return and pay 20% restocking or 3. pay for redelivery. Again I explained that is not acceptable due to the before explained. Eventually I was able to speak with the manager and he was the most dismissive, condescending, arrogant, person ever. He went into telling me how now other company will be able to get a full sized washer and dryer into my home, how Home Depot would leave the product on the street. I let him know he was wrong because I've been through both. Home Depot took the washer and dryer back and refunded me because their delivery people could not do the job. I then went to the then Sears Outlet and their delivery people assessed the layout, pulled out what they needed and walked the washer and dryer right on in easy. Not to mention it was 2 small men that did the job. Telling me what you think is not going to fix the fact that your delivery people showed up to leave. He kept insisting the units needed to be lifted over the counter. Finally I get to the point where I explode. This man had the audacity to tell me I was being irate and disrespectful. Hello, they have been disrespectful from delivery day. How can you push and push and then when someone fights back they are irate and disrespectful. He stated "I'm trying to help you". No he was trying to help himself. The guys lied, he's regurgitating fiction and wondering why I am so pissed off. He then calls the delivery people and asked what needed to happen for them to deliver the units. The guy told him I needed to empty the refrigerator so they could move it (which I proved could be moved that day), and the door needs to be taken off (which I could have popped off that day as well had he mentioned it). That also proved what I had been saying the entire time but the ego's wouldn't hear me. I purchased an entire kitchen from them several years ago. The initial experience was good. Since then I have had issue after issue. The service has been poor and at some points non existent. They installed my dishwasher incorrectly and as a result the same part breaks all of the time. If I get the GE Repair tech on a service call. He won't repair it because the install was wrong. Then the process begins over again. It is very frustrating to spend upwards to $9000.00. Then be unable to use the dishwasher for months at a time. The most recent service order was for the refrigerator and dishwasher. GE showed up with a work order to repair the microwave. Often the price seems to have an impact on the service. If you are going to order anything high end, like sub zero refrigerator, I would order elsewhere, because if it comes in damaged, they have all your money and you will have to wait another six months for your appliance and there is no motivation for them to work to get it to you. They require the whole payment, before they deliver, unlike other appliance places which will let you pay the final payment on delivery. This place is very shaky. I will never do business with them again. The salesman said they would call with the delivery date when the appliance would be delivered the second time. I have not heard a word in a month in half. They are not true to their word. Sketchy-sketchy, sketchy. I could have invested my money and made money off of it. They claim they can't afford to have money outstanding. Really? Delivery of my new GE refrigerator/freezer made today despite looming ice storm. Curtis and Eric discovered that the only door big enough for entry was through home office. Across lawn and double-wide staircase, all covered by over 2.5' of snow with icy crust!! They shoveled the steps, salted them, and sailed through taking out my recently failed 30 year old unit, and installed the new. Obviously I can't attest yet to the appliance. But I have to say Curtis and Eric went beyond the call of duty, with a smile and extreme courtesy. Also my ordering experience was excellent. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. I had a recent issue with an 8 month old dryer that I had purchased an extended warranty for. 2 weeks after reporting the issue to the company, they sent a technician from their warranty company out to take a look. Because of an error on their part with the service ticket, I was yelled at by the technician in my home and also had to stand there while the warranty tech and the appliance customer service rep yelled at each other on my cell phone. Only for the tech to then put my broken washer back together and say it wasn't repairable and leave. So now I have a broken washer, and Samsung is saying there is no replacement for it. They will give me my money back. But that doesnt solve the problem that my combo no longer match, no longer talk to each other (which is one of the features they used to sell me the combo). and I have to find a new washer for around the same price as they one they sold me. Also I am out two weeks of quarters of doing laundry at the laundromat. This company was completely rude, hung up on me several times, and after saying my only recourse was to write a review they asked me not to call them anymore. I brought an all my appliances back in April 2021 from David Webster and Scott Hutchinson. I also paid for a full warranty on all products in total my purchase was $8,327,44. I paid over $2,992.88 for a new Bosch refrigerator plus the warranty (all parts and labor). Bosch B36CTT80SNB (800 series) with French doors. The refrigerator was delivered with dents on all doors and freezer drawer. National Appliance Warehouse, sent out their 3rd party vendor appliance repair to replace all doors and drawer-- I wasn't happy with this solution because I didn't want a new refrigerator repaired. I wanted a new refrigerator without dents in it. The vendor came and tried to replaced the doors even though one repair person told me that they never attempted to do this before. No big surprise -- the vendor didn't replace the doors correctly. The doors didn't shut properly and the freezer draw wouldn't close at all. I called National Appliance Warehouse. They sent a second vendor out to replace and repair my doors. The new vendor did and after they were done I noticed another large dent on the new right side door. I called National Appliance Warehouse, again -- they sent another door. That same vendor came and yet again -- replaced the right side door. After about a month I noticed that the plastic part was bent on the right side door and I noticed that there was a screw loose at the top. The 3rd time my door was replaced and it wasn't installed properly. Now the same vendor is scheduled to come to fix my new refrigerator again. This has been a comedy of errors. Sure both Scott and Dave replied to my issues but the issues have never been resolved -- going on a year with having problem after problem. read more

WARNING - DO NOT PURCHASE - READ THIS REVIEW: I went into the store not knowing anything about it. The staff, especially Thaddeus, really knew what they were talking about. I ordered a LG refrigerator and it was delivered within a week. I thought it was great so I went and bought about $200 worth of groceries. BUT THEN..... the refrigerator stopped working within a day. I called, and was told they were working on a solution. This was on a Thursday. I reminded them that I have four young children with no way to keep food or milk for my youngest. I went in Friday and made a purchase of a bunch more appliances, and spoke with them about my broken refrigerator. They assured me they were working on a solution to get us back up and running. SUNDAY came, and I went into the store because my $200 worth of food was spoiled. I spoke with the salesman and was told LG hadn't responded to them yet. I canceled my order for the additional appliances I ordered and asked what they were going to do about my groceries. When I purchased, I opted for the extended warranty that covered $250 worth of food loss. Mind you, my new refrigerator was broken in a day, so I didn't need much of an "extended warranty". The manager told me that today, Sunday, was the first he's heard of the issue. I was told that since I was canceling my order & returning the refrigerator I wouldn't receive anything for the groceries that were lost. I was told that I needed to clean out the refrigerator so they could pick it up. Good luck with that! The refrigerator will be sitting outside on the deck with the spoiling meat & milk inside that you refused to pay for. I should also add that it was explained that the warranty covered repair & replacement of appliances for 5 additional years. And that everything was in house and they focused on customer support. What that really means is that instead of calling LG myself, they call them and ask for help. It doesn't mean they have people doing the repairs. Total misrepresentation. This could have all been avoided had they dealt with the problem when it occurred instead of waiting several days to let a manager know. They had the exact same one available in the store that could have easily been swapped with the broken one. If this was an issue 2,3, or even 4 years down the road I could understand. And maybe then I would have been a bit more patient. But this was day one, with spoiling food, and a house full of children. REAL NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wouldn't buy anything from them again, and I highly recommend anyone looking to go elsewhere. Don't buy into their "We're the best for service" crap they try telling you. Our shopping experience with Frank was amazing. We purchased over $8000 worth of appliances and it was smooth from ordering to delivery. Then we had an issue. The dishwasher that should be measuring at 24 inches does not fit in the 24 3/8 gap that we have. We called National Appliance Warehouse to discuss since they told us during our shopping experience that we should go through them for all service needs. They have not been helpful in the slightest. They keep telling us there's nothing they can do and that we have to hire their installer so that it will fit. Our professional, certified plumber couldn't make it work, your installer can't actually cut the side of a dishwasher. They promised to call us back and nothing. Clearly they just wanted our money and now don't want to help with our issues. Update: After posting this review the store manager called me to make this right. They have offered to fully fix the issue by replacing this one with a new, smaller version. I greatly appreciate Scott following up and making this right. read more
