First of all I am completely blown away that this company only had two stars. We received nothing but the most professional service and care when it came to picking out the urn and coordinating the cremation of my father-in-law, Wallace or "Pete" as we called him. We were from Chicago but had Pete in a great memory care facility in Scottsdale. He passed away in Arizona so everything with his cremation had to take place in Arizona. It was two days before Pete's memorial and we haven't received his remains. We spoke to a man named Jeff, who was wonderful. He said his remains were being sent to him tomorrow and that he will overnight them to us so they arrive in time for the funeral. Sure enough he did what was said. We received them the following day and he called to make sure that they arrived. Also, followed-up with a few more phone calls making sure that we received the urn and that everything went ok with the service. You can't beat that customer service. He was on top of everything and just went above and beyond to make sure that Pete made it back in time for his celebration of life. We cannot thank Jeff enough for his impeccable customer service. My father in law passed five days before his 97th birthday in June. He was a sweet man and a second father to me. When my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease 2011, I know I had to face that end was inevitable. We had both decided on cremation several years before. After he had his second severe stroke in 2013, he was transferred to an Alzheimer's care home, as I was no longer strong enough to care for him at home. I contacted the National Cremation Society that year, spoke to Lianne, and was assured there would be no additional costs other than what I agreed to pay. I signed both of us up. I did not want the burden of expenses to fall on our children at their time of grief. My husband passed away last month. The National Cremation Society handled the necessary procedures excellently. My only cost was to the county for death certificates. I highly recommend the company and urge facing the death of a loved one ahead of time, while one's mind is unfettered by grief. Today I received a solicitation in the mail from you. On the envelope in large blue lettering were the words "Life is full of surprises..." When I opened the envelope I was shocked to see that it was from the National Cremation Society advising me on how I could get more information on there low-cost cremation services. "Surprises" usually means a happy occurrence like a birthday cake or a visit from your grandchildren. It should never mean that someone dropped dead. I think you need to take a serious look at your marketing techniques. I do actually believe that low-cost cremation is a very good choice, however this was not the way to get my attention. My husband and I decided to prepay for our Cremations. The presentation on Cremation was very informative and we feel we have done the right thing for ourselves and for our loved ones. We are looking at the nice wooden box as though it is a time capsule. We put pictures and other keepsakes in there from time to time. I know it's not something people like to think about but it's gonna happen so just do it. It covers transportation back to the states if you die while your traveling. That is a big international ordeal that you don't want your family to have to go through. We have cards in our wallets and our children just call the 800 number and they jump in and give them guidance. We didn't want a funeral just the Cremation services. read more

My wife and I live in Arizona. Yesterday, I received a promo in the mail addressed to my father. who has never lived in Arizona. Additionally, my father PASSED AWAY IN 2013!!!!! For them to address a letter soliciting business to my 5 years deceased father in his name as well as to an address with which he has never been associated (he lived 30+ years in Florida when he passed), words cannot fully describe their insensitivity!!!!! Not to mention how they can associate a 5 years deceased individual with an address that he has never lived. He passed away 4 years prior to my wife and me purchasing the residence to which they addressed the envelop! When contacted and explained their screw up, their customer service basically laughed about it!!! I requested to speak with someone in charge and was passed to a funeral director. This individual, Linda, basically stated "mistakes happen!" The only mistake is if anyone uses their service!!!!! We have used this company twice before with amazing service,comfort and care. We used them this week and were severely disappointed. We paid and did all paperwork in advance to avoid having to deal with this in on the day my Father passed but the day after he passed they called and said that we had to drive 20 miles to the office to do paperwork AGAIN- we were charged 700$ extra for making advance arrangements then forced to repeat the steps. At the facility we were talking about the situation when the manager stepped out and told us that these thighs shouldn't have happened but she was busy and would call later. No call ever came.
