My sister's memorial was just here. They treated my brother and I with utmost respect and kindness. They offered easels, table settings, and extra services for anything and everything at no charge. They even set the table beautifully for the food. They brought out more pedestals as flowers came in. Afterwards they packed up everything and brought it to the car so we could take anything home with us. They were wonderful. Last year my father passed away and we used a wonderful mortuary in Sun City West. This year my brother passed away and my sister-in-law choose Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary. The contrast between the two couldn't have been more different. Messinger: Arrival was cold and unfriendly, only information provided was they would notify Social Security and only question asked was how many death certificates and what kind of container did we want for the cremation. I was expecting a warm and compassionate greeting, more information on how social security process works, walk through of what you might need each certificates for and help in determining how many, a detailed understanding of how the cremation process works, information on writing an obituary with helpful guidance and a card on how to reach the coordinator if we needed any further help. Only go here if you require minimal help with your loved ones care. read more

Losing my husband unexpectedly was a nightmare. I'm not sure I can recommend Messinger because in reviewing the charges they seemed extraordinarily high. I requested some clarification from one of the funeral directors who did not return my call. I chose to go with a small family owned funeral home in Mesa and was surprised to find the cost to be about a third of what Messinger was going to charge. read more

Simply horrible customer service. I will never ever use this company. In times of need, the 3 other funeral homes I've worked with in the past all across the US and even in Canada have all gone out of their way to accommodate and assist families even with unusual requests. Not here. A simple request to help transport an urn from their funeral home to and from a memorial service was brushed off; if your company doesn't do that, most other funeral homes will or at least will find a way to make it happen. While your staff was cordial on the phone, their unhelpfulness spoke volumes more than a pleasant voice ever could. read more

My mom and best friend passed suddenly and tragically. Her last wishes were only an idea, and Mike Wells walked us through every step of this sad journey. His compassion and class are unequaled. For a family in devastation, this guy stepped up to guide us and we will forever thank him. Mike arranged everything for us, emailed us details for my mom's ceremony, and made sure every last detail was perfect. Never in my life did I think I would write a Yelp review for a mortuary, however if you are planning ahead (which I would assume you are doing if you are reading this) i think it's helpful to read first hand accounts. Twice (yes twice) in the past two years I have sat at Messingers to make those heart wrenching decisions and talk about things like death certificates and cremation. Both people we worked with were kind and caring. No pressure. They never tried to upsell us and take advantage during our worst moments. Yes, they are more expensive (especially when you compare to the billboards on the highway) but I can tell you, during a time of immeasurable grief, their professionalism and kindness is worth every dime. I wouldn't recommend any place else. read more

The hardest death of all is the death of a child. As grandparents we stepped in to plan the funeral for our 10 month old grandson who died from SIDS. I found Rob at Messinger on Indian School Road in Scottsdale. I interviewed several funeral homes by phone before going to visit Rob at Messinger. He was caring, helpful and did not try to pick our pockets. I would give this funeral home and Rob the highest score possible. He saw us on a Sunday and made a special trip in to see us on his day off. His caring attitude and expertise were extremely helpful and comforting. read more
