I've never even been inside this business, but that's not for lack of trying…read more I moved here from San Diego 6 months ago, along with my children and pets, leaving my active duty husband behind to finish his TOD there. Rent for a family of 5 was costing us 50% of our income. A few months after we arrived I noticed that there was an eye care center next to my local Walmart, so I Googled "Walmart with eye care center near me" when I returned home. I wear glasses and contacts, and all 3 of my children wear glasses, and our insurance provides us with yearly exams. This center was indicated to be the closest. It took me at least 2 calls to get through to someone to make an appointment, and even at that point they were scheduling 4 months out, so I made appointments only for myself and my youngest child. I was told that I would receive paperwork to fill out ahead of time, but I never did, despite checking my spam email regularly. When I asked about their location they confirmed that they were "between the Sams and the Walmart". Today my son and I arrived for the appt. And, as instructed, I called to let them know we were there. The receptionist asked me to pick up the paperwork and fill it out in my car. I'm sure this is a covid related measure, but since I am vaccinated I did not see why it was necessary. Nevertheless, I proceeded to the door, but no answer came when I knocked, and the hours indicated that they were closed. Someone working at Sam's Club said I could ask at the eye care sales dept., and when I did they indicated that the optometrist only scheduled appointments on weekends. When I explained my situation she told me that the optometry office I was looking for was between ANOTHER Walmart and Sam's Club that was also in Chesapeake. At that point I recalled that I had never been given an address for the location. I could never have known or guessed that Chesapeake would have 2 different Walmarts and Sam's Clubs, located together, in 2 different locations, and both with an optometry center in between, having only lived here a few months. But since I spoke with the office staff several times, you'd think they would have mentioned it to a new patient looking to schedule appointments for 4 people. Nope. Maybe if they'd sent me the paperwork as promised that would have let me know, but they didn't do that either. I did call back and explain that I did not have the correct location, but I was informed that, because of the time I'd spent trying to determine the problem, I would need to reschedule. Nope. Taking my business elsewhere.

I love this place. I have been going here for years and I love the Dr. She is always so sweet and…read morehelpful. Has always been invested and caring towards my family. She's not a simple get yourself in fast and leave kind of Dr. She takes her time to actually treat you
