We figured it wouldn't hurt to welcome them into our home for a no obligation quote, and our appointment was set for three days later. Wayne Mackenzie arrived on time, and we sat down to a pleasant conversation about the benefits of solar. He analyzed our current PG&E bill and yearly summary and educated us about how much we were paying on average and how much we could potentially save if we were to go solar. We were already interested at the time, but Wayne helped us to understand why SolarCo would be a better solution than other options, without putting any other companies down J. He wasn't pushy or demanding, like sales people can be, which made it a comfortable experience. One thing that sets SolarCo apart from other solar companies is that they do not contract out. Everyone we worked with was directly from SolarCo, from the Sales Consultant to the design team, to the Installers, down to Cameron, who worked hard to track us down for signatures and to drop off paperwork (even coming out to my work when he was running a few minutes late... no fault of his own, since SolarCo is located 43 miles away and there were accidents on the News that morning). From our initial conversation with Wayne until the building permits were signed, only 14 days had passed, and our solar system was complete and running just over a month later. The installers were very professional and clean. They upgraded our Electrical Panel along with the install and made sure we understood everything they were doing. Total install took less than 6 hours. The back of our house faces South, so the panels are visible from the backyard. From the front of the house nobody can even tell we have them. The Enlighten App we downloaded on our phones shows a layout of our system along with detailed information about how well each panel is producing. It is fun to open throughout the day to see how well the system is working, but the best part hands down is watching the meter go backwards, even when it is slightly overcast. Our bills went from in the 400s, to $250 when it was completed in the middle of a billing cycle, to $6 this past month! We are happy with our system, the customer service, and with the whole process. We would definitely recommend SolarCo to not just our family and friends, but anyone interested in lowering their PG&E bill. Thank you SolarCo!

The old furnace in my house went out a couple months ago and I decided to pull the trigger and invest in a ductless heating and air unit before the end of the year. I'm one of those guys that has to do his due diligence before buying anything, so I froze for a few weeks while I did my research and got a half dozen quotes and assessments to figure out my options. Gary from Smart Home was the second to last one to come out and do a walkthrough, and while just about everyone seemed solid, I appreciated his straightforward and honest approach. He was also the only one to talk about placement options for the 4 heads that seemed to be the most efficient and which appeared to require some creative thinking. With the Holiday madness, it took me a while to find the time to go over all of the quotes I received from everyone. Just about every company kept calling or emailing me every few days to push me into pulling the trigger with them. Gary didn't, which goes a long way in my book. And, when I had the time to compare all of the proposals his was the lowest, by $2,000-$2,500 in a couple cases. After comparing the particular units that each company was going to install, I found that his proposal included one of the highest quality and most efficient heating and air ductless units on the market, so I was sold. We quickly arranged to have a team come out there and install everything a few days later, but when they showed up, because my house is small and funky, the team realized that we would have difficulty installing the condensor where it typically would go. No problem. Gary called me that morning and we again went over creative solutions about where to install it. We decided on mounting the unit up on the back of the house, they got the necessary mounting bracket in two days and had everything installed that day. And they even decided to wave the extra cost of the mounting unit, which I was happy to pay for. Anyway, it's not every day that you can find a contractor of this quality to work with who is honest, straightforward and not pushy. The unit works great, I'm warm again and I'll be recommending these guys to everyone I know. I couldn't be happier.

We recently purchased a $50K solar system from Sun Edison (Bay Area based company). The Salesman I…read morepurchased from was Jeremiah Fugitt, whom was wonderful, a true professional, both knowledgeable in his field, and very personable too. He also maintained contact with us throughout the entire process to ensure our needs were being met as he had promised that they would be. Jeremiah explained about the analysis of our property in determining the best possible placement for us (we are on a five acre ranch), then he explained the costs (substantial) but worth the investment as solar currently brings a 95% return on your investment usually within the first five years following installation! Between us, we determined that a ground mount system made the most sense so we went ahead and purchased a $50,000 system, feeling confident in our investment. Within a couple of weeks, Jeremiah came out and presented us with the written analysis of our property and the best spot that they determined would offer the proper declination for solar panel placement. We agreed and he then referred us to our Field Manager, Dave Collins, whom would be overseeing our job site installation. Dave called us the day after, and we scheduled a pre-installation site walk-through with him for the next week. Dave came on schedule and armed with a thorough knowledge of exactly what we needed to do to prepare for the installation, they would handle all the permits, etc., and how long the install would take. Sun Edison can take pride in these two gentlemen, they performed their jobs professionally, thoroughly, and in a timely manner as promised. Dave and Jeremiah make an awesome team that most assured will be a money-making duo if teamed together in the future. Truly a pleasure to do business with. Both these gentlemen did an awesome job communicating with us so that we understood clearly what was taking place when, etc. and exactly what the costs would be (substantial). The numbers never deviated from the sales agreement in any way. Sun Edison should appreciate that they've hired well as these two young men make a hell of a great team that represent their company in a very positive way. I saved the best part for last......last year at this time our PG&E bills were running anywhere from $750/mo to $1,000/monthly. This year, the same month we received our first bill since the solar installation is up and running.....our current PG&E bill.....was $4.00...THAT"S RIGHT $4 !!!! : )
