I can't put my whole rant due to Yelp's character limitation, but if anyone wants more info., feel free to contact me. They were late with no notification. Also, I understand they want to protect the goods, but they go way overboard with the packing supplies. So, my quote went from $2.5K to actual over $4K. It also took them over eight hours to pack my 987 sq. ft. condo. Which it's good they don't charge by the hour, but it was just boxes and a few pieces of furniture! They also switched us from weight to cubic feet, which, if you google, is a typical moving company last minute scam. I know it's totally our fault for agreeing to cubic feet over weight, but that's what you have to do when they tell you it's your only option or they're not going to move you. Same thing with not offering extended insurance. Only a whopping 60 cents per lb. reimbursement. In June, we gave the first available delivery date of 6/22/12. An hour after that, I received a call from Laura/Linda (I didn't catch her name properly) confirming delivery of our goods Sunday or Monday and addressing the news report I saw. She claimed the woman paid her outstanding balance two days before the news story aired and they didn't have time to deliver her goods between then and the airing date. I just said, "Um, okay," because I wasn't going to argue with the lady in charge of delivering my items. Why wouldn't the news check the woman's bank statement she produced and the dates? The weekend came and went. No furniture. Monday I called dispatch and spoke with Allie, with her winning personality (insert sarcasm here). Allie informed me that I shouldn't be receiving my goods as they were still in California? What? Why would two different people call me to tell me that they were on their way, then? Allie didn't know and really, Allie didn't care. I called Allie three times more as she never called me back. Finally, she swore my goods were still in California and that they wouldn't be in Washington for about a week and a half. An hour later (and this is when it gets so freakin' crazy, I'm actually laughing as I write this), we get a call saying our goods will be here on the afternoon of July 3rd between 1-3. My husband told the woman we'd been told we'd have to wait another week and a half. The woman laughed and said that was ridiculous. HUH? I shot another email to Lea asking where the heck my stuff was. No response. I even called Allie and let her know my goods were being delivered. She was overcome with joy (insert sarcasm here). I asked her if this would be all of my belongings, as she had sworn the day before everything I owned was still in California. She replied it should be everything and someone must have forgotten to update the log. Again, something I could forgive, but with Allie's "I don't give a s*$t attitude", it infuriated me a bit, especially since this shows that this company really has no clue where your belongings are. Alex kept getting delayed, but kept me informed , which I really appreciated. When he arrived, he and his partner did great work, being especially careful not to damage our brand new home. We received (& returned) expensive items that didn't belong to us. We had items missing, like tools and my brand-new TV. How could someone just walk off with that if my goods had been "secure" the whole time they were in Nationwide's possession? We haven't unpacked everything, yet. Who knows what else is missing? One of my mattresses wasn't covered at all but I was charged for it to be covered. I'm not being unreasonable - glasses were broken. I packed them and they were a casualty of the move. However, every single piece of wood furniture is gouged and dented. They get away with it because you have to sign off on their inventory noting that every thing is pre-dented (using their code, which is easy to miss when you're stressed and tired from moving - my fault, I know). Allie, in her usual fashion, cared. She referred me to their 3rd party claims division for my 60cents a lb. reimbursement and said that items "easily" get mixed up and damaged between loads and moves. I was misquoted $2,300 and eventually had to pay for $7,500 for my complete move. They blamed the fact that I did not tell them all that needed to be quoted for which I know I did. They underbid to get my business and then just jacked up the price the day of the move when I had no other option. My place is less than 1,000 sq/ft and I live alone, so It's not like I have a family that I needed to move as well. How could they have misquoted so bad when I told the guy all of the large things that needed to be moved. I can see some disrecpancy but not more than 3x the cost. I even left my projection TV and Grill to make sure it did not continue to go up in price. My emails requesting an update to Mike Hachmon and reasons there were such a discrepancy never were answered. I was told numerous amounts of times that my belongings would be dropped off the week for which I spoke to Leah and did not receive my things or call backs. The supervisor, Nicole, who seemed to be a breath of fresh air after dealing with someone else, turned out to be like the rest. No call backs or responses to my emails. I was misquoted, lied to numerous amounts of time, never received repsonses to my emails or calls, and am still trying to track down my missing items. Each time I call I am told that I will have someone contacting me but never get a response. I have filed a report with the BBB and suggested that all other do as well. Once they got here (told to be ready & 8am, waited all day till 6pm) they moved it all in 3 hours we shall see what happens after they ship it across country! 10 days later and we are waiting for the stuff on 6-15-12. Received a call from David the driver last night telling me to have money for the driver and tips for the guys bringing my stuff in the house. Does that subtract from the bottom line that was quoted? or is that extra. Last update, they came and mostly everything was intact!!! YEAH. knob broken off, replaceable pieces are missing, random delivery guys. The owner and assistant mgr of the truck/delivery guys were awesome! The one guy Ivan Rivera, is from Philly and is a super hard worker who shows respect and kindness. You just better show them the same, give them water and a tip they deserve it. read more

This is not a moving company; it's quite literally an extortion racket. 28 complaints against these guys according to the Better Business Bureau, which rates them as an "F". A further 26 complaints have been filed against them with the US DOT; the DOT number is 2160376. This is probably the shadiest company you could possibly work with. They seem to operate under many different names - Nationwide Trusted Movers, Trusted Moving and Storage; Nation Wide Top Movers and Trusted Movers are just a few of their aliases. They also deal in cash ONLY and none of their workers (including call center employees) speak English except for the Sales reps, who will con you with the sweetest of voices. First they will quote you a reasonable price via email and agree on a moving date and a delivery date with you, most likely at least a month in advance of your move. Then they will change the moving date with you at the last possible moment (in our case, hours before the actual move). Then they will show up early, with a bunch of rude movers, who most likely can't speak more than a sentence or two of English. They will charge you five times the rate they initially quoted you, and take pains to wrap all of your items in about six inches worth of packing supplies, just so they can tack on additional labor charges. Now that you've already paid through the nose, had your schedule disrupted, and most likely been accosted by rude (and most likely undocumented) employees, then comes the date of delievery. Although they may have told you your items will arrive within a week or two of the moving date, they will make you sign a contract stating that they have thirty business days to deliever the items. Expect them to take the full amount of time, delivering the items at the last possible instant. Finally, your items will arrive: all of our boxes were smashed and much of our furniture was damaged and scratched. I do hope you didn't pay for your furniture to be disassembled and then reassembled post move in, because chances are their drivers don't know how to reassemble your furniture. We were stuck re-assembling three pieces of furniture, only to find that the movers had lost a number of pieces along the way. We are now stuck with damaged furniture. Calling their customer service department is akin to talking into a black hole. When you finally do get somebody on the phone, you can expect them to be rude, unintelligible, and accusatory. Forget about getting any money back. Bottom line: you will be paying thousands of dollars to have your items taken from you on a random date, roughed up in the back of a truck for about a month, and then unceremoniously dumped on your doorstep. You could expect better service from the Mafia than from these goons. read more

I also read good reviews on this company and was looking forward to a stress free move with them. OH MY!! Was I ever WRONG! This company quoted me $1800 and i ended up paying $3800!!! I was never told about packing fees, nor was I given a breakdown of what I would be charged for when the movers came. They went through 17 rolls of plastic wrap and 45 rolls of tap. After they left, half used rolls littered my empty house and a whole roll of plastic wrap was left in our garage. I was charged for all of this. They bubbled wrapped my wooden chairs. REALLY?? BUBBLE WRAP? Why? oh, that's right, because they charge and extra $60 to bubble wrap items. Did they ask me? No. They just went in and wrapped everything, even my guitar case that is a hard plastic shell, they put multiple layers of tape on it. There was no need for that. They arrived days after they said they would and when they got here, every box that said, "fragile" was smashed. Multiple dishes were shattered. THEY STOLE our snowboards and my hunting bow also and caused major damage to our couch and end tables. Total between damages and items stolen is over $3,500. This isn't even the worst part. The worst of all of this is their customer service. Their phone number is constantly down and they will hang up on you. I have had multiple conversations with managers and they all promise to call back but I have received no calls at all. I am filing a lawsuit against them this week. What an awful company. I was told on 5/29/12 by Sam from Best Movers Inc. She gave me a US DOT number of 1993699 and I looked her company up online. The online review and results came back good. I decided to move myself and my family from Sac to Vegas. I made this decision based on this information and based on the affordable price of $970 for 2,100 lbs. I was explained to by Sam that anything over 2,100 lbs would be charged .50 per lb. This was acceptable to me as well. I was told Best Movers would take my items to a weigh station and weigh them and give me a report of how much it weighed and whatever extra it weighed, I would need to pay the difference. I was also fine with this. When the movers came to my house, they looked through and told me there would be an additional $400 worth of charges because my stuff was not packed properly. I was in a spot where I had to move because of work, so I reluctantly accepted. About 4 hours later after the movers were done packing my stuff and their truck was fully loaded, the movers told me they had under estimated the packing and the charge would be over $1,300 for just the packing. I was upset and contacted Sam and asked her what is going on. She told me her manager would take care of this problem and not to worry about this. She also said whatever the cost of the move was, not the packing would be what I would be charged and this was just the movers giving me their estimates and it was not the final cost. She said to let them complete the move and she would take care of everything and she would call me the next day. (Wed, 6/27/12) I met with the mover and told them what our situation was. On top of all of that, the mover told me that he thought my stuff would weigh close to 8,000 lbs. I did not see this as possible since we have a family room, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a BBQ. The heaviest things we have are couches. I was told for my entire move, it would now cost $4,800 which is close to 5 times more than what my original quote was. The mover had me pay 1/2 which was $2,400 and told me I would need to provide the other $2,400 in cash when they came back to my house with my stuff. All of my stuff was in their truck and wrapped and in boxes when I got this new, much more expensive quote. I also learned they in fact do not weigh my items as originally discussed. They use something called cubic weight. I have learned that cubic weight basically is set up by listing the amount of items I have and using a math formula to come up with their estimate of poundage based on the amount of items. This was not discussed or told at time of contract. There is a spot on the contract where you are told to initial. I asked what this was and the response I got on this question and on all other questions I asked regarding the contract was, "If you don't sign it, we don't move your stuff." Again needing to start my job in Vegas, I was completely stuck and signed the contract. On the contract, I noticed the company name has changed to Nationwide Top Movers. It has a completely different US Dot Number of 2160376. I looked this DOT number up online and found out this company is a DBA of Best Movers Inc. It is Nationwide Top Movers that has all of the bad reviews online and has a bad history when you look up its US Dot number. The company is giving its parent corporation number to pass the background check and when it is time to do the work, they put everything under the Nationwide Top Movers DBA name. Wednesday came and went without a call from the sales representative, Sam. I traveled to Vegas and arrived Thursday, 6/28/12. I called Sam and asked what the results from talking to her manager were. Sam then passed the responsibility to her manager, a woman named Lea. I asked why I have to pay this and she told me the deal I made with the delivery person was not what the contract states. She said I am responsible to pay 60% of the estimated weight of the delivery as well as 100% of their packing amount. I was also told my soonest delivery date would not be until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I was told repeatedly by Sam, that our delivery date would be Friday or at the very latest, Saturday. When I expressed this to Lea, I was again told to read my contract and they had 30 days to deliver my goods if they so choose. If we could give a negative star we would give as many as possible. They were so nice in the beginning, attentive, knowledgeable, promising and agreeing that everything we wanted during our move would be done and that we had nothing to worry about. They assured me that the negative reviews I found and brought to their attention were only two out of years and years of service and they actually blamed the customer stating they had anger issues and could not be pleased. We signed a contract with a 2600 total cost to move, including one large semi truck to move our home, agreed by contract that our items would be delivered within 4 days of departure, we were assured that we wouldn't share truck space with anyone but us. When the crew arrived they started pulling items apart and literally throwing or tossing them around to get them in the truck. I wasn't aware they would bring screwdrivers and take apart all furniture down to pieces it was never mentioned to me. It took them twice the amount of time to load and in the end they said they couldn't fit all our items on their truck (which was a standard sized Penke truck). I was told we would have a semi. They left a room full of furniture out in our driveway and said ill be back for it tomorrow. Then they handed me a bill for close to $10k dollars when i told them my agreed upon total that was signed off on he said, it was more than expected either pay it or we will lock your items up in our warehouse until you can pay in full, in shock i asked if there was any other option, how about unload it, he said sure but we wont leave until you pay us for time and labor for the entire crew. Flabbergasted I called our rep at the company she said there was nothing that could be done, I kept trying to get a manager but instead kept getting hung up on. We finally decided to let them take our stuff and move it maxing out our credit card to pay for the difference. We arrived at our new home and waited 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 days still no items, everyday i tried calling and talking to a person who could help. They insisted that they couldn't deliver because it was now a holiday weekend and that now we had to move our stuff to another truck so we could share with another family in the same area. I decided to call the news station, report them and called the police. When our items arrived many days later, it was on a small moving truck, they threw our items on the grass and left (they were supposed to wait while we checked off items delivered AND deliver boxes to the rooms and set up mattress and furniture they took apart. Instead they laughed and sped off. I kept calling this office and either got hung up on, laughed at, yelled at or ignored. In the end we are missing so many boxes filled with our property, antique furniture, pictures, and what was delivered was broken scratched and missing pieces so that putting them items together was impossible. We filed a claim with our insurance agency, reported them to the police department The insurance agency, police department and new station tried to get ahold of them continue to try and have the same issues we do. Either getting a busy signal, getting hung up on or put on hold for hours and no one ever picks up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are the WORST company ever. This company has had some pretty decent reviews in the past and I was excited to use them for a move from Sacramento to Michigan. I had a three bedroom apt for my 3 small kids and my wife and I. We were originally quoted about $3800 for them to pack my house and ship it. That was definitely not what happened. First, when they arrived, it was late morning and I was informed that because it was later in the morning we needed to start right away and they pressured me to sign multiple papers so they could start. I signed knowing what I had on my quote and they started. I bought them some lunch and water figuring that if I kept them happy, they would be nice to my stuff. Near the end of the day, when the load was nearly done, I was approached by the foreman and he told me that they had used more packing materials than previously expected and so I owed them some more money. I asked how much more and he told me $4400 more. My original quote of $1100 for packing was now $5500. I was blown away. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me no they couldn't get ahold of one now that it was past closing time. I told him that I then wanted him to unload my goods until I could speak to someone and he told me that he couldn't do that because they owned the goods now that it was on the truck and if I didn't pay, he was going to have to call the police. I paid figuring that I could get this settled in the morning and have since spent nearly 45 days trying to get an answer from a manager on that excessive cost. I had my good delivered here (which I still owned another $2200 on delivery) and found that now my goods were damaged. My leather couch was broken (the supports within the couch). I have mutiple boxes smashed. I had small items falling out from boxes and dressers all inside the moving truck, the pavement leading to my storage unit and within the unit itself including my military medals which were subsequently stepped on. I haven't unpacked yet because I don't have a home yet but when I do, I intend to record each box and list the damages incurred on everything. I have been trying to get ahold of customer service, or claims, or anyone else to get an answer to my dissatisfaction and have had no response. I have talked to Nicole, Christie (sp?), Lea, and others including the driver, David, and they tell me that they have not had such experiences before. I understand that Ori, the owner, is aware of my move but has given no direction on how they will fix it or alleviate my concerns. I have heard lots of promises of call backs and have left multiple messages and emails with absolute silence coming from them. Unfortunately for this company, it looks like I will have to pursue legal action to get any compensation or refund. I say unfortunately because I am documenting and taking pictures and gathering statements from others that were there. This isn't just the worst moving company in the country, it's probably the worst company I've ever dealt with on any level in my entire life. At least 3 people there told me my move from California to Nevada would take three days, it took 3 weeks. They then stated if I wasn't there on Saturday (I had to be out of town that day after 3 weeks) to accept delivery then it would then be another 3 weeks. However, that wasn't even the worst part. At least 12 times during this 3 week period three different people promised to call me the next day and give me an update. Never once did they call. Not once! They would laugh at you like it was a game to lie to you. If you mentioned they had promised to call you, they (Allie & Company) got very sarcastic and rude, even though I was extremely nice to them. I was working with branch in Santa Clara/San Jose CA. I read that the Santa Clara BBB rates them a F, based on 27 complaints. 27 must be the total number of people that they have moved in that area. This company needs to be shut down! They were referred to me by www.movers.com. What a scam, they don't vet their movers at all, they just refer anyone who will pay them a fee. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I originally helped my sister by finding her this company and they seemed to have the best price and she was on a tight budget. She is a single mother with three kids and just came back from Germany due to a divorce. So as her older brother I tried helping her get back to Oklahoma where our mom lives. So the day the movers arrive they tell her that her bed needed to be packaged and so did her wall unit and some other small items, but this was never explained to us in the beginning on how things needed to be packed, but because it was already late we let them pack it. They did not say how much it would be to pack stuff up for her and after all the work was done it cost her 500+ dollars in materials and they wanted the money in cash on the spot. As they started packing the truck they ran out of room so they decided to leave the lift gate out and use packing tape to secure all of the items to the back with the door open. Now i don't know what tape is rated at for weight, but i know it should be holding her and other peoples belongings from falling out of the back of it. So she had a balance and was finally able to pay it all so they would ship her stuff. that was back in the beginning of August. It is now the middle of September and they do not know when they will be able to get a truck to take her belongings to Oklahoma. They have promised her 30 dollars for each business day it isn't being shipped, but they also said any holiday that they recognize(not just federal holidays) will not be paid as well. So as of now her stuff is still sitting here in California and she is in Oklahoma without any of her stuff. This company is a rip-off and should not be trusted by anyone. read more

If I could give negative stars for this awful scam of a company I would. I was quoted an initial price of $900 to move my belongings from California to Georgia. When the movers came they told me we had under estimated the weight of our belongings (even though we gave them an itemized list ahead of time), as a result the price jumped up to $2,000 requiring a $1500 deposit. Fine, I paid the deposit. Now almost 2 months later I STILL DONT HAVE MY ISH!! They subcontracted the service out to another scam of a company called Flat Rate movers (with an "F" better business bureau rating) who claimed I owed an additional $2,000 on top of the balance to Nationwide. When I repeatedly attempted to enlist help from Nationwide to get this straightened out they told me it was out of their hands. But before I finally got that response I was yelled at, hung up on multiple times and placed on hold only to find out the person who put me on hold had left for the day. I spoke with a beast of a woman named Lindsey and another horror named Lea, both of these idiots belong behind bars for breach of contract and theft. A lawsuit will be filed this week.
