I went to nationwide because that's where my insurance is and got an eye exam. I got contacts six month supply. I can't see out of them yet. I can see out of my old ones and they won't refund your money for the contacts I could pay for another eye exam and see if it's different that should be on them so if you want to get screwed on contacts, don't get them from nationwide vision on cactus as far as I know any nationwide. vision. read more

Don't book online, the system doesn't work. I booked online got my confirmation email but my appointment was "automatically cancelled"because I didn't call in to confirm. I was not informed anywhere to call in to confirm and I was not contacted about my appointment being cancelled. Fix your online booking system or don't offer online bookings. read more

I went in as normal, I had an appointment for an eye exam. Overall, I was treated well, but the whole time I was there, I felt as if I was being laughed at by the doctor and both front desk ladies because I asked them about some photos that they took of the back of my eye to check for any diseases or anything like that and I spent $40 on the test and wanted to know the results and they we're being real sarcastic and unprofessional and I ignored it but overall the main doctor right now that is in the store that I never seen is not the best, she doesn't know how to be professional nor knows how to answer questions when being asked and gives an attitude/gets sarcastic with you when she's busy and has no time for customers that are finished with the visit aka impatient. read more

The place that I spoke of before with the rudeness is located on 5026 W Cactus. The gentleman's name is Brian. So today I went to the location on 19th Ave and Glendale and the manager was about as helpful as a rock. And rude!! Maricelli I believe is her name. Soooo I tried the one on Bell and 7th Street and Rachelle was so amazing and helpful!!! She said she hears horror stories about other stores. Anyway the nightmare is over and I'll be able to see soon. Yayyyyyyy! Tysm Rachelle for being a kind and helpful person. Although I was treated well, I feel like I got ripped off. The glasses I received do not fit me right. One arm sits on my ear correctly, and one barely sits on my ear. I have made sure that they are on my face straight, and they are. I have been back to get this corrected, twice. All they do is heat the arms, bend them a little bit, and call it good. Not acceptable. I paid $400 for glasses I do not even wear. I ordered some real glasses from Ray-Ban. read more

They have always made last minute appointments with me, and resolved any issues or concerns I had and the main Optometrist is very thorough and informative. To make a long story short: two eye exams, one defective and bent pair of glasses, multiple trips ( where the staff treats you like an idiot ), $400 and three weeks of waiting for the second pair that was no better. I ended up throwing their garbage glasses away and taking a $414 loss. Do yourself a favor and just burn your hard earned money. They have horrible customer service don't keep appointments even when they called me to confirm the time . They told me to check in at 4:45 I get there at 435 and they tell me that there was some kind of computer error and my appointment was at 4:15 so I missed it and too bad basically to reschedule or cancel it even though they screwed up they couldn't just put me in. And the girls in front head no care in the world at all that we canceled the rest of our family appointments they were like good go somewhere else they were proved and unprofessional. Getting an eye exam each year is a chore I don't mind anymore. The old staff and new staff blend very well with each other and it is very comfortable. First impression was the Receptionist's greeting and her beautiful mask out of black beads. Very reassuring of my safety. Also temperature check by Brian at entry way. Ray is my main person forever, he can never leave there as far as my husband and I are concerned. Gio checked my eyes for different things and gave me a eye test to forward the process when I was to meet with Dr. Stevens a very qualified Doctor. All in all I give a 5 star rating. Very happy with the services and the willingness to help us during the year when our glasses need any adjustment with the frame or lost glass case needed. Please stay just the way you are. My eye appointment was a total FAIL. I spent the day home, sick, and doped up on decongestants. Around 5:45 or so, I was in my jammies, has just made a cup of tea, and ready to crawl back into bed. Then it hit me. I had a 5:30 appointment. I freaked out a little and scrambled around trying to find the phone number. I finally found it, called, apologized profusely, and asked if it was still possible for me to come in, or should I just reschedule. They said, sure you can still come in if you can be here in 7 minutes. I said I certainly could, since I live nearby. So I threw on some clothes, grabbed my keys, ran out the door, jumped in my hoopty, careened around the block, broke a few minor traffic laws, and was at their desk at 5:56. I addressed the first woman behind the desk, and told her that I was there for my 5:30, sorry I'm late, etc etc. She said that she didn't see me in their appointments. I was confused by this, and asked if this is the office I've been talking with on the phone. This is when the other woman chimed in, and said, "yes this is the office, but it's 6pm at the doctor can't see you now. But we can schedule you for tomorrow." That would have been fine, if she told me that before I dropped everything and risked life and limb to get there in time. I realize I effed up by forgetting my appointment, and being late. But they should've been straight with me from the get-go, and just told me it was too late, and that we should just reschedule. So I told them, "nevermind," and left. I'll go somewhere else. read more

So here's the thing. I have worked in the medical field for many years and am familiar with Nationwide Vision. From my experience in the past with them there is a huge difference in the doctors and the store staff. Usually the front is terrible and customer service is non existent, but the doctor is knowlegable and informative. That is NOT the case for this location. The doctor (Dr.Taddonio to be specific) was rude and answered everything with no tact or patient care. My husband went into this location with a possible medical emergency (constant increase in floaters and sudden vision loss in his one eye) and was told to come in later that day. Okay, that's doable (considering they are the ONLY O.D practice open that takes medical cases on the weekend, unfortunately) and glad they took us the same day. There were no problems with the staff and everyone was nice. The doctor though is very short (and I don't mean height) and rude. He diagnoses him with a medical condition and says to go to the retinal specialist. Does not explain to him what it is or how it could of occurred. Along with other comments made throughout the exam that were completely unprofessional and nothing close to knowledgeable. He left the office with a prescription for glasses (smh.. why would the doctor give him an RX before getting his eye looked at?!) and confused on what just happened. I would never recommend this location to anyone with any sense in their head. Because, more then likely you have more sense then this doctor. read more

We go once a year for the children eye exam. Was treated very kindly by all whom worked with us; from the appointment scheduler, to checking in, filling out paper work and making copies, from the person whom escorted them to the back for their eye exam, to the doctor who did the eye exam and last but not least the young lady that help us pick out the eyeglasses that they will be wearing a whole year. She was a great help! Just a side note, we had our appointment on Friday and 5 days later their glasses were already in! Fantastic, no complaints here. Mind you I took in three children for glasses. I will start off saying that the over the phone staff personal was extremely nice! Scheduled the appointment efficiently. When you walk in the front desk girl were pleasant. But when you get to the back before the doctor "miss sunshine" was quit , cold and just flowing threw the motions. Nothing that was being done was explained, just next machine, next machine. Then when it came to my eyes being dilated I wasn't even asked if I wanted it. Then when I said no I was handed a piece of paper to sign that I've declined. The service here is awful they are just out to take your money. While I was visiting with the doctor he gave me the option of trying the contacts with the progressives or without. I opted to try the progressives. They didn't have samples so I just bought a 6 month supply in case I didn't like them. I even said that to the lady that was helping me with my order. It turns out I didn't like them because they did nothing to correct my vision for distance. When I went in to order a new set I was told that I had to order the one with the progressives because that is what was on the prescription and nothing else could be ordered. I asked how to go about changing that because the prescription was not treating my issue. I was told that I had to have another exam. I told the lady that I am not due for another exam for a while and didn't think it fair that I have to pay for another exam just to get my prescription changed to treat my condition. If I was taking some kind of oral medication and it was not helping to make me better all I would need to is call the doctor's office, let them know what was going on and they would modify the prescription and call it into the pharmacy. I am not sure why a doctor can't just look over the information in my files and rewrite the prescription so that my condition can be corrected properly. After doing some research on contacts and progressives, apparently, "a side effect", is that correcting distance is compromised. My only options should not be to either pay for an exam and then also pay for the cost of the prescription or pay for a prescription that will not help my condition. read more

The customer service at this location is the absolute worst. 7 months ago we came to order my kindergartner glasses and were told this location doesn't carry glasses small enough for his face so they sent me to a store across town. Today (7/2) I walked in to order a replacement pair (he's been too rough too many times and superglue/solder isn't holding anymore) and was told his prescription expired 2 days ago 6/30 and there's nothing they can do for him until he sees his doctor - that appointment can't happen until 7/29 due to insurance - when asked what happens in the meantime, the staff said "well it's the same as Prescription narcotics, you can't get anymore!" I said, but hypothetically you could call the dr and they would be able to extend the prescription over the phone knowing an appointment was already pending. She said "Well that's not how glasses work!" Not only is this the second time they've been too rude to help, but each time They've been Unapologetic and dismissive. They don't want my business I will definitely take it elsewhere. read more

They come off rude and unprofessional, no customer service skills at all. I just recently got my eyes and contact exam done here. I'd go elsewhere. I got charged 80 dollars for a toric contact lens examination. I've been a long time customer here since 2012 but the quality has gone down over the years specifically 2017-2019. Here are the good, the Opticians and Doctor were good, but the receptionist/schedulers were awful they don't look very happy and don't greet you or anything. I was given the wrong contacts as trials, and my new glasses I have trouble with my eyes focusing with them. Now I have to go back to get a re-examination and wait another week for my trial lens to come in again with the correct prescription. Overall take your money elsewhere and this is my last time I am ever going to this location. read more

I've been to this nationwide location a couple times and each time I go, the employees are just plain rude, it feels like they're annoyed of being there. I asked a question about my insurance telling them that I was on this certain plan and if it made a difference and the front office girl with glasses and dark curly hair just rolled her eyes and said "you should of told me that when you called" with attitude. Anyways, I'm not sure if it's a nationwide policy for the employees to be rude with patients because I've been to a couple more locations and the customer service is pretty much the same. read more

Very very poor customer service.  My children were to be  seen I had to bring muy one year old as well.  We arrived 12:18pm for a 12:30 appoinment. My children have been seen here  only change was our address and I was required to complete paperwork all over again for both.  No biggie, just annoying, still got that complete before 12:30. There was no customers ahead at this point. When I turn the paperwork in she tells me it will be 20 minutes.  1:20 rolls around.  I have a 2pm urgent appoinment I need to make.  They call my daughter back at 1:25pm. I ask the guy with glasses (very rude) how much longer is it going to take and he snidley replied it takes an hour to an hour and a half from start to finish. No apology that the doctor basically took a lunch on us and that we were scheduled for an appoinment during a time he's known to go to lunch.  Because clearly as day he came walking through the front door and must have left from the back. Now I'm going to be late for my urgent appoinment. I could have rescheduled (with another location) of snide man would have just told be how much longer I could expect to bye here and respect my time ado I could hace rescheduled so I wouldn't be late.  I've never in my life had an eye appoinment last longer them 30 minutes. Never again.  Save your time and sanity and go with another location.  This is the first one I've come to with this poor service from staff. Things happen but taking a lunch while patients are waiting and one with a 1 year old at that is just rude. The doctor who just had to grab a bite was Joseph Taddonio. Thanks to him my son didn't get to be seen.  We waited all that time and only one child seen. No patients before us.  Now I have to find another facility and reschedule. That was 6/27/2019. Found new facility and set appoinment 7/2/19 they didn't even input or forward the already complete work paperwork on my son. I guess they wanted to show me what they really had by way of poor service and have more complete it all over again. Avoid the headache Northern location rocks!! read more

I am not happy about my recent experience st this location. My daughter had an eye appointment on Wednesday. We went to the desk and spoke with a gentleman who didn't know what he was doing or trying to scam me. The glasses with insurance he said for single vision would cone out to 200.00. He kept saying you need this & that on them, if you don't get thin lenses it's embarrassing. A whole bunch of nonsense. I finally said I will think about it. At 5:50 I asked how much longer it would be and they told me that a 5:30 appointment means you will be seen at 6:00. I was called back for a "pretest" at 6:00. Long story short, I have gone to them for years, every year for my daughters eye glasses. She has horrid vision and it gets worse each year so she HAS to go yearly. They told us today that she had to redo her forms since she hasn't been there in 2 years....um yes she has. So this started a little tizzy with the front desk lady from hell. She insisted it was a failing on my part, not the computers, about the last visit and she did this on several occasions while I was waiting for my daughter to fill out her paper work. I made it very clear that no, in fact she was the one who was mistaken and we had been to this very same store last spring. All I got was a bunch of eye rolls and the holier than thou attitude from her. Anyway after my daughter filled out the paper work I was bringing it up to this wonderfully charming lady, when it dawned on me that we wanted to have the exam for contacts not glasses. She said that that will be $40 more. Well according to our insurance it wouldn't be, I had the benefits documents with me. I argued with her as for the why of the extra expense and she told me for the cost of the contacts fitting. After trying to get a straight answer out of her because that sure wasn't a good answer when our benefits stated otherwise. I asked my daughter if she wanted to put up with this and she said no we can leave. I looked at the lady and said to just forget it and cancel the appointment, we'll go elsewhere.
