The best optometrist and technicians! I currently live in Santa Monica, CA and on a visit back to "home" in Scottsdale, AZ, I made an appointment at my previous center. Although it has been 3 years, they remembered me and greeted me so kindly. Everyone was so helpful and thorough in my examination. I purchased reading glasses and contact lenses and appreciated that they shipped them to me and I'll be receiving them in a few days. What is so special about this place is how caring they are to the customers, how helpful they are, how they help you understand the pricing and tell you about the discounts that are going on so that you can make a decision on the best situation for you. If I could give this a zero I would. Absolutely horrible store. The staff is so unorganized, it is very clear that nobody wants to work there. The staff do not seem educated/trained on their job roles. Horrible customer service. Especially the overweight gentleman with the transition glasses who sits on his bum and plays on his phone while customers are approaching his desk. Not to mention he charges his Nintendo switch that was sitting on top of my order. I went in to pick up my contacts for the second time because they keep screwing up my order.( the first time they said, my order was ready, and when I went down to the store, that was not true, they actually had not ordered my contacts and I had to wait another two weeks plus ) I had to pay extra for my contacts. I had asked how the price was different and he had an attitude and said that was not on him that's the doctor's fault and he doesn't know what he can do about it. Mind you he was fuming. I'm not sure if he was annoyed because his Nintendo switch was taking too long to charge or because I asked him a question and he had to work and do his job. Probably both.. either way his attitude and behavior was absolutely unacceptable . Sir, you are the face of the store. You represent the tone and the experience of the store perfectly because it was dreadful. I rather drive out of my way so I never go back there again. worst experience ever. No professionalism anywhere besides the nice gentleman who adjusted my glasses. Give him a raise or promote him because he probably picks up the slack for everyone else that works there. I was apprehensive about my appointment as I rarely go to the eye doctor, but as soon as I walked in, Marcela greeted me and put me at ease immediately. She reassured me and guided me through the steps with care and expertise. My eye exam was uneventful infant it was super easy to set up the appointment and just needed to fill up couple forms during my appointment. Marcela was there to assist me all throughout the entire process. I ended up not needing a prescription glasses however I wanted something to protect my eyes from blue light and from eye strain caused by too much screen time at work. This is where Marcela shined the most, she had a great working knowledge at the same time not being officious. Dr. Lue was also great as she made everything in that exam quick, easy and straight to the point. Total waste of time, and dishonest. They told me that frames were available and in stock, then called 5 days later and said it would another 6 weeks. But they wouldn't cancel my order -- they wanted to give me another frame which I specifically didn't want. I had to fight to get the to approve the cancellation, and the optician kept saying she already did more for me than she should have. Huh? They wasted my time! Lenscrafters could fulfil, but needed one piece of data from the measurements, and the Optician refused to give it to me. She didn't want to liable if they were wrong. HOW WOULD THEY BE LIABLE IF THERE WAS NO ORDER?! They've totally wasted my time -- never again. read more

Honestly, my experience was similar to others on here. Customer service is the absolute worst. The older gentleman is rude, passive aggressive and quite frankly dismissive of women. In this day... to allow someone to work for you who continue to speak to and treat women the way he does just shows that this company doesn't care about customer satisfaction. Mark my words... someone will file a formal complaint against this guy requiring their legal team to address this guy. My employee insurance dictates where I go for care. But I will never go to another Nationwide Vision again. The optometrist is actually pleasant and very competent but the rest of the experience is unacceptable. I work in health care at an nationally known hospital nearby. I have been very vocal about my experience at work so people will know that they should not come to this place for their eye care. During open enrollment I will no longer choose Avesis insurance because I'm never coming back here. I will chose to use my health insurance and see an Opthamoligist even though it will be higher copays. Medical professionals understand you can't treat patients this way and expect them to return. There are many options out there. Avoid this Nationwide Vision location! Now watch for the computer generated automatic response to this review telling me to reach out to Nationwide for resolution. I completely agree with the poor reviews of the Scottsdale location. When I left the FLW store today, completely unsatisfied, I noticed a card saying "Review Us". And so I am. I totally agree with the assessments of the technician named Paul who I encountered trying to buy glasses for my grandson. Finally going elsewhere and getting glasses which correct his vision, I came in to ask for a return and refund for the glasses which do not correct his vision. Came here around 6 pm on Monday night 8/28 and I asked about Oakley sun glasses if they have the same model design as mine because I needed a new pair, but a gentleman with dark short hair said no they didn't have it. Okay, I asked him if they could replace my lenses since they were some scratches on it and he examined my sunglasses then he said with his arrogant voice, " mam I'm afraid that your sunglasses is not real Oakley", I was like WHAT!!!! How dare he accused his customer like that. Never ever make your customers upset mister!!! I told him that I bought those sunglasses at one of the optics in Aspen, Colorado few years ago and I paid $$$, but he kept saying almost bullying me that my sunglasses weren't real Oakley. Definitely not coming back to this place. Not sure if it's every nationwide or just this location. Every time I have ordered glasses for my son I am never notified. I let them know and they tell me they have tried to contact me. This 3rd time I let almost a month go by from his initial appt and no notification of the glasses being ready. I tried calling last week and today. Last week I left a voicemail because no answer what else is new. No response. I call today 3 times at different times. No answer. My husband goes in and he's told they contacted me by phone twice and email. I received none of that. Words can not express my deepest gratitude and forever indebtedness to Dr. Sang and Dr. Timbre. If you are reading this review, it is more than likely because you are in search of an Optometrist; but, not just any ole' Optometrist; you are searching for the best of the best. If that is so, then please take a moment to read this review, and hopefully, this will be the last review you will need to read. If there is one thing I've most recently learned in life, it's that you can't put a price on your health and sometimes trying to save a few bucks in the beginning only ends with you spending loads more. Above all, Dr. Sang has always provided the best of everything one can hope to expect from a doctor; she is intelligent, empathetic, organized, conscientious, patient, committed, honest, and compassionate. I trust her. Unfortunately, Nationwide Vision is not in my insurance network, and because I am frugal and borderline cheap, I opted to see another Optometrist in my insurance network. BIG MISTAKE. Long story short(because your time is valuable, I will not bore you with the specifics), know that an inaccurate eyeglass prescription will wreak havoc on your eyes and body, potentially leading to an expensive ER, Ophthalmologist, Neurologist, and MRI bill. So, in true human fashion, I went back to my roots. In one hour, Dr. Sang and Dr. Timbre corrected my vision with the most thorough and comprehensive eye exam. In addition, they physically checked all of my previous eyeglasses, including the pair from the botched eye exam that resulted with me spending the equivalence of a ten-day vacation to a prime resort in the Maldives, but I digress, and advised me on the safest frames, closest to my newest prescription, to wear while awaiting my new pair. They were able to get my vision to 20-20 and confidently provide answers to my concerns that lingered from the ill effects of the botched eye exam. Turns out, I paid even less out-of-pocket with Nationwide than I did for the insurance-covered botched eye exam. Silly me, I never checked with Nationwide to find out what their out-of-pocket expenses were. I just assumed that I could save more money by staying in the network. The irony, but lesson(s) FOREVER learned. Dr. Sang and Dr. Timbre are incredible. Not only have they taken great care of my eye health, but they are lovely to be around. Simplistically put, it's rare to find doctors that are great-natured human beings, combining outstanding care and personal touches to make you feel like you are with the family. I want to thank the Nationwide vision staff for making me feel welcomed from start to finish. I also want to thank Dr. Lue Sang and her tech Ashley for being so thorough and prescribing me my 1st pair of prescription glasses. Even the waiting area was pleasant when other irate patients would cause a fuss; I witnessed the staff being very respectful and courteous to them and that's what I like to see in a business such as theirs. The doc and the tech were great, pleasant and thorough for my exam. I would definitely return here for an exam if it's the same doc. The man who actually does the glasses and lens ordering is a different story. I got such a bad feeling from him just from my interaction with him that I am afraid to go back and get glasses. I asked him for a copy of my prescription and he just kept asking me for my copay. Did not acknowledge my request. He followed me around even after I made a comment that it's not necessary. I kept telling him I can't pick a frame because I could not see (eyes were dilated from test) but he was pushy, handing me things that I did not like and making comments like "those a too big on your face" whenever I found something that peaked my interest. Anyways this man is so unpleasant in his tone and demeanor I don't know how he is in a customer service kind of role. And I am clearly not the first person to say this on here. read more

The entire staff at this location is utterly stupendous!!! From the minute I walked in the door I was treated like royalty. First time walking into Nationwide Vision. We weren't greeted by anyone because they were with other consumers which was fine. The optometrist stopped what he was doing and told me the lady at the desk would be with me in a moment. Finally, Marcella stopped what she was doing to walk over and assist us. She clearly seemed irritated because she had other things to finish. She rushed through my questions, barely let me get a word in. What offended me most was when she asked what insurance I had, she assumed I had ACCESS healthcare which is a low-income state offered insurance plan.inwasnt white sure if she asked this because of our ethnicity but I could only guess. Most people would assume you have VSP, a very common plan. Nonetheless, her attitude and service was a reason for me not to come back or recommend to any friends or parents I associate with. read more
