Saw Dr Sowash is January for my annual eye exam. My vision had changed a lot and it was difficult to drive at night . I knew it was probably due to cataracts, but once again he said they weren't ready for surgery. In fact, he said the average age for surgery was 80! Told me I just needed new prescription every 6 months until they were ready. I went for a second opinion and found out they were more than ready and scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later!! read more

VERY IMPRESSED with the level of response, care and service I received from this team, more specifically Amanda and Bradley. Both of these individuals spent separate time with me to make sure I had the right setup on my glasses and that I knew what to expect and how to get the best use out of my new "progressive" lenses, which as a new person with glasses, I had no idea. Also their doctors are very kind and took the time to make sure I had the right prescription. This was a great introduction and experience to my new lifestyle with glasses. Amanda at the eye exam reception area was incredible. In these times it is far and between to get personal and professional assistance. The day before Thanksgiving I began to see floaters and getting blurry vision. I called my Opthomologist throughout the day but phone always went straight to a busy signal. We were so lucky to find out the Visionworks at Talking Stick was open and they got me right in. Amanda greeted me and quickly got me in. The diagnostic testing showed I needed to see a retinal specialist. Amanda called them first thing Monday and got me in immediately. Days later she even called me to see how I was doing. On my first visit I used insurance and they tried to charge me for services that had not been rendered yet and they made a scene trying to embarrass me in front of other customers by saying out loud that I couldn't afford to pay. Horrible experience, they seem desperate to charge you as much as possible. Also it's unheard of to have to come back two times to get contacts, I was told I would not receive a contacts prescription unless I came back a minimum of two more times. This practice makes me think they are trying to milk every dollar from you and hold you hostage by not giving you the prescription you paid for. Worst place ever. read more

I ordered glasses February 27, 2020 and was told that I'd receive them in up to two weeks but also indicated they were optimistic it would be perhaps even a week. There was then a global COVID-19 pandemic and my order inadvertently got misplaced before the store was temporarily shut down. I've been in glasses since 6 years old, and contacts since 8, and this past appointment with Dr. Peter and his staff was definitely the most memorable. I was Dr.'s last patient, yet he still took the time to go over each and every detail with me, which was much needed as my eyes were evidently on the verge of permanently rejecting contacts. Being in the medical field myself, I tend to be picky, but start to finish every single employee was SO nice; I have no idea we're some of these bad reviews came from that I skimmed over. I don't post bad reviews often but my experience at this location was terrible. Save yourself the stress and avoid this location at all costs. The exam check in ladies are completely incompetent- I was told by them that my insurance was inactive.. After 30 minutes of waiting for them to try to figure it out on their end, calling my HR to confirm that my vision insurance was indeed NOT inactive, they suddenly found my insurance. No sorry, just rudeness from the ladies working the exam area. They used the excuse "we just got a new system" and a couple weeks later when I went to pickup my contacts, I heard them say the same thing to another person that they were having some kind of insurance troubles with. It's not hard to be kind, and to apologize when you've messed up. read more

I paid $168 for a comprehensive eye exam, only to receive a very bad prescription where I could only see out of 1 if the lenses. When I went back to ask to reevaluate the prescription, they refused, even though I told them I could not make out any street sign and thought this was dangerous! I wish I could give Vision works Minus stars! Needless to say I told all my friends about this horrible experience! read more

Frames are poorly made. Visionworks does NOT stand behind any of their frames. There are so many glass companies who do eye exams that you would think they would have better warranties for the frames they sell. read more

I thought I had posted a review last year, just can't find it. After a million years of going to Lenscrafters, we moved to Arizona. Our insurance did not cover Lenscrafters. But, they covered Visionworks. Went there, very good selection of frames. Service was good. Was told that they had the frames in stock and, since my lenses were rather basic, they had them in stock and could get my glasses put together in the same day. That satisfied my Lenscrafters' one-hour promise. The price was okay, the service was very good. That was 6 months ago, today I had to go back to Visionworks as I had left my glasses on a Delta flight. It seems doubtful l will ever see my glasses again. But, Visionworks came through again today getting me a replacement pair of glasses within a few hours. We did the process over the phone and I showed up and was in and out within 5 minutes. I went for a contact prescription and glasses. From the point I step into the reception waiting area im met with rude attitudes from reception and she likes to act like youve never been to an eye doctor appointment. The doctor will test you and then give you the wrong prescription in your trial pair and acts like it wont drive you insane. I specified i drive for work and i cant read well if its not on a bright led screen. No sign on a road is led, and clear vision is necessary. I feel as if its a way to get me to buy the contacts from them and they do have my correct trial pair. If they didnt have the right pair. As a doctor wouldnt u want your patient to leave seeing their best. Not this guy. This is an inappropriate business practice. Then the doctor has me mumble half a line and try to read 3 letters spaced apart... i cant see what road im turning on from the opposite side. they wont ask you if youd like to spend an extra "so and so" on insurance for when the glasses u buy break and the scratch resistance i paid for in my sun glasses (i got half off). I had one ulcer when i was in 8th grade the guys test is less than a second long when he stares at you with his prism blocks and he says, "yeah you have a lot of scars" hey a****** i only have one scar not in my eyesight. Absolutely the worst eye doctor ive been to in all my life. No pictures but im seeing that my 600 dollar glasses, the come in a vision works case... not the expensive name brand case. I can second this opinion from other post ive seen here. read more

Horrible place. I have worn contacts and glasses for over 30 years. This is the first time that I had to go back somewhere 3 separate times before they would even give me a prescription. I requested to speak with the optometrist to discuss the reasoning for all the return visits before giving me my prescription and I only got called back by the front desk people repeating non-sensical reasonings and then finally saying that it was "company policy". The front desk staff are uninformed and hostile towards any basic questions such as an itemized bill for services rendered. I finally decided to just go somewhere else and pay out of pocket for a new exam. They basically wasted my time and my money. Literally the worst experience I have ever had with anyone in healthcare. read more

So just got my glasses! Love them! Marjorie did an EXCELLENT job helping me find frames. I am very tiny. My prescription is a trifocal. (Yes it's a thing. And yes I'm blind as a bat). So my glasses are never off my face really. So they need to be fully functional. Comfortable. Not distracting. And maybe a little fun. She helped me check ALL those boxes. Not an easy task. Really bad experience here, still not addressed. Either the company has a policy if adding expensive, unwanted, extras or they encourage their salespeople to do it while they turn their head. Have spoke with General Mgr and corporate. They're NOT denying it but, so far, nothing. Next up, area supervisor, regional director, tv stations that advocate for consumer. Guys, I'm not buying a used car, just some eyeglasses. 7/29. Received a call this morning from one of the best local consumer reporters promising a looksie and some mystery shopping of this chain. I really never leave reviews but I truly loved my experience here. I picked this place on a whim because I just moved back to Scottsdale from Nashville and I so badly needed a new contacts/glasses script. I have had a strong prescription since I was little and Dr. Lehmann was the only optometrist to ever explain why my vision keeps getting worse, give me practical advice and actually assign me a proper contact/glasses wearing schedule. He worked fast and was effective but very thorough when it came to my new schedule/eye health, as a healthcare clinician myself I was very impressed! I could tell he cared about my eyes and my vision stabilizing. So refreshing. Also his staff was so helpful and understanding. Also everybody was understanding and encouraging when I wanted to switch back to the Acuve Moist from the Acuve Oasys to save money (my old optometrist in Nashville said she only could prescribe me the oasys, which idk the true interworkings/reimbursment of ordering contacts in an eye clinic but felt like a money grab because I had been using Acuve moist for literally 10+ years). It was really out of convenience and luck I chose this location but I will 100% be coming back as long as I live in Scottsdale! read more

I wish I could give this business 5 stars. I've been going there for years but unfortunately due to this recent mistake they made, I will no longer be going back to this business. I went in 3 weeks ago and had an exam but also purchased contacts. I gave them the address to ship to, we decided to get the annual box, paid, and he said I was good to go. They never arrived. I went in 3 weeks later to say I never received them and they didn't have any record of my purchase. Despite having a receipt of order and an email that says "thank you for your contact lenses order". Instead of taking responsibility, they're making us start an entirely new order that will take 2 weeks to ship and have my dad pick them up and mail them to me IN LONDON (I'm studying abroad there) which will be another few weeks. Their lack of professionalism and responsibility is appalling. read more

Honestly, I have never had a better time picking out glasses. I came in, with my doggo, looking to find some new frames/lenses because they had a great deal going on. I had't updated my frames in six years, and an my lenses hadn't been updated in two. When I can in they were quite busy, but Marjorie greeted me while she was assisting another customer, but she came and introduced herself and gave me a tray to store my "selections." I have been extremely, extremely loyal to Ray Ban's but just couldn't find ones I loved;l: not the right color; frame size too small; too cat-eyed; too colorful; not the right fit; and the entire time Marjorie stood there and helped me try them on (and loved on my pupper while I looked in the mirror a billion times.) She actually found a pair of RB's I literally hadn't even noticed, and I just fell in love with them. Even after that, she assisted me trying on others, just to make sure I loved them. She also helped me try and find sunglasses, but sadly, I ended up just ordering new lenses (they're perfect) because I loved the frames so much. She even helped get my script to their store! When I came in to collect both new pair and lenses, I had an awesome time. John was great and assisted me right away, and even chatted with me while they finished up putting my new lenses in my sunglasses. Truly, everything about this experience was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it!! read more

My entire experience with the glasses department here is so disappointing. I really enjoyed this location because it was convenient. The doctor and his staff are great. When it comes to ordering glasses, I've made multiple attempts to try to get the situation solved only be back at square one. Saba is not experienced with insurance, glasses, or customer service as she led to be. I trusted her that she knew what she was doing when she was ordering new lenses for me. She dropped the ball multiple times. There was no attempt to finding solutions to fix the situation except she kept arguing with me. I hope they can retrain their team better so other people can have a much better experience. read more

I stopped in this optometrist office and I asked the lady to let me buy some new nose pieces to fix them.she didn't charge me anything. She just gave me her business card and told me to let people know about there office and smiled and said have a nice day. Great selection of frames but poor service and quality. My mother had excellent service from the manager when she purchased her glasses so I went back to the same location two days later to purchase my glasses. My service wasn't nearly as good but the girl who helped me was nice. I brought in my current sunglasses and asked for my sunglasses to have the same gradient tint. When I picked up my glasses, they were barely gradient and I asked about it. I was told by the clerk at the counter that my sunglasses were not gradient (they abosolutely are!) then she further stated the new ones looked so different because the lenses are polarized and will not look the same as my current sunglasses because of that. I told her I never ordered polarized lenses to which she replied, "we just do that to all of ours". If there was full disclosure of this to me, I wouldn't have purchased sunglasses. When I said I wasn't at all happy with the way they looked, she simply said, "well I can have plastic lenses put in and tint them the way you want but they won't be as durable and won't have UV protection". I told her I don't care about UV protection, I just want them to look like what I ordered. She made no apology, took no accountability and tried to make it out to be my error. She wasn't truly listening to what my complaint was. I left with a pair of sunglasses that I probably won't wear. What a waste of money! In addition, my mother's tri-focal lenses were made wrong and had to be sent back to the lab to be re-made. I will not be coming back and don't recommend using Visionworks. read more

We had a great experience with the eye doctor very upbeat guy tells it like it is but makes you feel like a winner getting your eye exam. Then the optical shop first of all kudos to the staff we loved them all. We were treated like family and believe it or not we had a great time getting glasses. We got a great deal love our glasses.
