This was a problem since I could not use the key to open the deadbolt. I tried to lubricate the lock and jiggle the key to remove it but it would not budge. I contacted A Better Cheaper Locksmith and they responded to my request for assistance. The locksmith was able to get the key out and checked the locking mechanism. It was determined that the lock was bad and it needed to be replaced. This smart key lock was recently purchased at Home Depot. I would highly recommend using this locksmith. They were courteous and very helpful explaining the issues with the lock.

I had an appointment scheduled for Sunday at 10:00 a.m. I work graveyard shifts 6 days a week, 12-15 hours a day, and I also care for an elderly parent. By 10:30 a.m., there was still no sign of him, and I had not received a call or message. When I called, the excuses kept changing. First, he said he had "lost our conversation." In the same sentence, he said they had been overbooked. He then mentioned he had his granddaughter's baby shower. The inconsistent explanations made it difficult to believe what I was being told. Instead of apologizing and taking responsibility for wasting my time, he came across as condescending and dismissive. Everyone can make mistakes, but how you handle them matters. Unfortunately, this experience reflected poor customer service, unreliability, and a lack of respect for a customer's time. I cannot recommend this business based on my experience. Update: Thank you for proving my point. Your response is unprofessional, defensive, and unnecessarily personal. You're honestly sassier than my four-year-old granddaughter. On 9/28/25, she called at 8am, hours later a guy came, tried to program the ignition, and then said because the engine model number was different from the VIN, it would take more time. He then unplugged the battery and left. Hours later, another guy came and tried to do the same but couldn't, saying he would come back later. Then, at 4pm, a guy named Badr arrived and attempted the same. He couldn't do it and asked if we were in a hurry. HELLO!!! My daughter had been waiting for you guys since 8 in the morning! So Badr canceled their initial reset and still charged my daughter $390. I told him, "You didn't do anything!" He made up all these excuses, saying every time he used a tablet it charges?? Like, come on--karma will come back to bite you, just watch. Anyway, it was a good thing the Uber driver found my daughter's keys and returned them to her. First of all, they shouldn't have taken that long and made us wait for hours in the middle of nowhere. Secondly, if they didn't know how to do it, they should have been honest from the start so we could call another locksmith who can. Third, they shouldn't have charged us when they did absolutely nothing! So, people, stay far away from this place. They clearly don't know what they're doing and will still charge you for their "attempts."

Half the time I call for service for anything I get someone who is irritable, snappy or rude. So this was a pleasant surprise. He gave a very reasonable price and it took him 2 minutes at most to open my door. I had another locksmith awhile back try to open my side door to my garage so I could get my keys. He was also super nice, but charged almost twice and it took him longer to open my door and fact he initially said he didn't think he could open it.
