Natural Grocers is an adorable grocery store that seems to have everything and anything you may need from a grocery standpoint as well as holistic living perspective. We were shocked to see how much they have offer. So far it has been our grocery store of choice while staying in the Sedona area. I love that they sell water for $0.25/gallon (you fill your own jugs) which is absolutely perfect for us as we are dry camping on some public land not too far from town. We would highly recommend this grocery store. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, too. :) read more

Best grocer in Sedona and surrounding areas for organic foods. Their produce is always fresh and their display is always impressive. Wide variety and choices of all categories of groceries. Endless isles of supplements, personal products and household products. Just big enough to take care of all my grocery shopping, but small enough to always make me feel a personal connection. This store is beyond dismal. The customer service is so poor, they just stand there while you struggle to box or bag your own groceries. Unbelievable! No other store does this! I'm not sure if this is some attempt at germ control, after all, they just touched everything when they rang it up. I gave 2 stars because they do carry some quality products, although frequently items are out of stock. This has been going on for years, regardless if the store is busy or not. I really wish they would get their act together or go, then maybe Trader Joe's could move in there! read more

I normally prefer Whole Foods. I've lived allover the US and worldwide, and always locate a top quality health food store. When there is a Whole Foods in a town, I always prefer this. However, Whole Foods has the unfortunate flaw in that it's quality varies dramatically by location. In this case, Sedona's WF have st doesn't do the job, and it feels off. Now when I am in Sedona I chose Natural Grocers. Their selection is very good, friendly staff, although prices do appear up to 10% higher than WF. read more

customer service at the cash registers is unfriendly and unprofessional very often the prices are not aligned with the cash register. It is more then marked. It takes a lot of time to get it checked . it happened on special day offers, too. please correct it and have your cashier take responsibiliy to pass it on to the manager instead of getting out of it by saying I am off for the day. read more

Love being able to find a healthy grocery store while traveling! This had everything we needed including grass fed local ground beef, a variety of kombucha, and nut milks. I loved their educational handouts and wish I could take advantage of their classes. Friendly cashiers as well! read more

Natural Grocers is a great store. What I DONT go to them for is quality supplements. What I DO go to them for is their stellar produce section. It is always nicely arranged, with high quality organic-only veggies and fruits. Their prices are usually some of the best in town on organic. They have a ton of snack foods strewn plentifully throughout the store, not just the snack section, and in the Sedona store anyway, they have a pretty good, nicely priced cheese section. organic, raw, sheep, goat and cow. The staff is super friendly here, always interacting with customers and there for shopping support and help. Best pricing on kombucha in town! They have a pretty comprehensive cold drink section which is nice, and their hummus selection is great. I think this is the 3rd review I've mentioned hummus in. Did I mention I like hummus?? Also, their Taste of Nirvana coconut water goes on sale frequently. Yay. Anyway. The only thing about this market is that it seems like half the store consists of cooler and freezers, and it makes it REALLLY COLD in the winter!! But I can stand it. People working in the isles at the Sedona store are helpful and nice. Most of the people at the check-out counters are rude and unfriendly . I have mixed feelings about this place. Update, 01/13/2018: Went to Natural Grocers, Sedona today to pick up another bottle of a liquid vitamin I take. I glanced at the bottom of the bottle - it expired on 06/10/2017!!! It expired over six months ago! No one in the isles to talk to. This is an expensive ($31.45/bottle) plant-based liquid vitamin, not a synthetic vitamin pill which could probably last well past its expiration date. What a disappointment. Went home to check the bottle I was running low on, which I purchased at Natural Grocers just a couple months ago. This one too, had expired back in June of 2017. All along, without knowing, I've been taking an expired liquid vitamin from Natural Grocers. My fault for not checking the expiration date on that last bottle I purchased. Be careful to check expiration dates at this place, especially with products you will be ingesting, it could be dangerous. read more

i have to write a review about this place. after living here for 2 years- the issues i have with this place have been consistent and i have talked to the manager about them and they don't get resolved. so it warrants a review first of all there are a few check out clerks that clearly do not want to help you pack your groceries at all. not only do they just stand there as you pack your own things or pretend to pick up the phone so they can avoid helping you, but if you ask for help they get irritable and rude and they intentionally pack your bags incorrectly. yesterday this occurred and the woman put the apples at the bottom of my bag and put heavy things on top. this bruised the apples when i got home. secondly the produce is very often rotten. almost every time i go in there there is at least one thing but often several things that clearly are bad and should be pulled off the shelf. so much so that i barely ever buy produce here- i always get it at whole foods. occasionally they will have a couple things that if i inspect they will be good and i will get them- but for the most part i do not come to this store for produce. and lastly- this is the 3rd time i have come home with eggs that have expired already! i just got the eggs yesterday and they expire today. but twice before this my husband bought eggs and they had expired the day before. i always check dates when i am at this store because of this very reason- but yesterday i forgot. having to be on top of it to check expiration dates on things you buy from a store is ridiculous. i never have to do this at whole foods. there are some very nice clerks here and the vitamin section of the place is definitely great- very large, mostly good prices. but due to the clerks with attitude and the rotting produce- i have to say i limit what i purchase here. i hope that the manager reads this and takes this into account. the clerks need to be told that their job entails packing grocery bags and they need to be taught how to pack a bag correctly. and the produce section- as well as dairy/egg section- needs to be regularly checked for spoiled produce and/or expired product and it needs to be pulled from the floor. read more

Stumbled across this place as we were stocking up on supplies for a few days in Sedona. Normally, we visit Whole Foods for our organic supplies, and pay the price. Natural Grocers was a nice surprise with an excellent selection and good prices. They had an impressive area for vitamins and supplements as well. read more

Yes, this is the best organic in Sedona. However, I prefer to shop in Flag. The staff is friendlier and generally more helpful. In Sedona the cashiers are unhelpful at best, and elitist at worst. This store also seems to attract, pushy, mean spirited customers as well. No thanks! read more

I wish they were more like New Frontiers........is that fair? Probably not. But we have few options for health food stores and I miss a deli, meat counter that is organic, salad bar, etc. All these we had in Sedona till NF left. I shop here when I need organic. NG is a nice alternative to New Frontiers and the other health food and supplement retailers in town. It's tastefully organized and relatively easy to find what you're looking for. They have a decent selection of fresh organic produce along with many packaged and fresh healthy food items. My wife and I now go here probably more often than New Frontiers because it is smaller and accessible. Their prices are usually lower as well. read more

I'm not super big on these type of markets/stores, but I like this place a lot because of their prices. They are reasonable! Sometimes, I think the more people pay for organic/holistic/natural crap, the better they feel about themselves. I do not fall into this trap. I do buy organic eggs and milk on a weekly basis, but other than that, I can do without the wheat grass and sprouts, thank you. I'd come here again, and if I lived in the area, I'd probably be here every week. read more

I have shopped here since it opened. The prices seem to be the same as Whole Foods, which I was hoping they would be cheaper. The only advantage to shopping here over Whole Foods is if they carry something unique. It is a small store but have good selection of personal care products in the skincare section. Their bulk selection is good for a store this size. I like their bag less policy. read more

Yep, this place is the sh*@! The store is clean and has a great selection of foods, cool prices, excellent customer service. It also has a great homeopathic section. Super happy to have found this market. I'm wishing we had a cool little spot like this in Studio City. It had some foods I haven't seen in my local stores which impressed me tremendously. Easy to walk around, convenient parking. Easier to enjoy being out of town when finding happy markets such as this one. read more

This is likely one of the nicest natural health food markets I have ever been to. They have MUCH better prices than at the other healthy grocery stores located in town. They also have a huge array of organic dried fruits, nuts, grains and other snacks at reasonable prices. A true gem for the community and YOU! :) read more

Unless you're looking for a speciality naturopathic medicine , I would recommend other stores in the area for non-gmo food and produce. Staying at an Air B & B in Sedona for a few days, we stopped here to stock up on staples hoping to find reasonably priced natural foods. The prices were not too bad compared to Alaska prices but the selection wasn't wide for most items. Still it was great to find an easily accessible natural foods store. Upon check-out however, the cashier wasn't very friendly and seemed put off when we asked where to find local wines for purchase. She referred us to Safeway which in the end was the better choice for all shopping. They had all the same natural products plus more at similar or lower prices. They did not however source any local wines. read more

New Frontiers still wins for their produce & of course, their meat department. For all other food, I shop here now. As long as their core values and prices remain reasonable, I will be a customer. I hope this company doesn't go in the way that others have. I am pleased to say that I spoke with an employee at this location (I've been to a few) who admitted the owners are very much family oriented and that the work life balance is important to them, which is to me because it really reflects in the customer service and the way people help me here. You can tell when people at other stores hate their job and probably guess why as well. I also find shopping here more cost effective and less painful for my wallet. I'll stay true to NG over certain other health food stores, as they often don't find affordable deals, sales, etc or family orientation/work life balance to be of any importance. My only complaint is their goofy hours at some locations. Just say 8:00 people! Don't bother us with this weird :05 (as in 8:05) crap. And the parking lots are often on a slope for some odd reason at these stores. Overall 4 out of 5 stars! read more

My friend and I had a conversation about how much we enjoy shopping here and like the experience. However, we both agreed that we should write a review about one little issue- there's usually too few staff members available to help as of late- especially in the supplementation and skin care section. It's not too bad because it's usually only a couple of people in front of me, maybe a single person. It's just that this is the new norm for them. Nice store. We didn't notice it the last time we were in Sedona, but this time we did, because we're staying on this side of town. We stopped in this afternoon in search of bulk items (Jim) and more produce (us). They have a broad selection of apples and a cool chart giving the range of sweetness from sweet to tart. I'd never seen that before and really liked it. I buy apples by smell. The more they smell, the sweeter they are, so I go for the ones that don't smell at all. I picked up three apples that turned out to be Honeycrisps, the only apples that Alan and I will both eat. I looked for oranges but they had none that I saw. They had a variety of vegetables and healthy packaged goods. They have a section of health and beauty projects. The staff we dealt w/ were friendly and helpful. The woman who checked us out even delayed her break to check out Jim, who got in line behind us after she had put out her CLOSED sign. It was an act of kindness on her part. It's one of the places we will return to when we're in Sedona, particularly now that New Frontiers has become Whole Foods. read more
