This is a great brewery located in the woods. They have a large beer menu, with multiple choices…read morethat will appeal to most. They also serve cocktails and frozen drinks. A full food menu is also available. Three years ago we stopped here enroute to Ptown to check out their lactose (milkshake) beers. They were unique and delicious. This year there was just one, the Creamsicle, and it is a delicious beer. I also enjoyed the Sumner Ale, and had the Irish stout before. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. Naukabout is a nice place to enjoy beer and food.

The bartender was very nice. The beer selection was heavily weighted towards hazy NEIPAs, which I understand--they sell! (I teach beverage at the Culinary Institute of America). I ordered two beers, a corn lager and a maibock. The lager was good, but the maibock was technically flawed, with diacetyl (movie popcorn butter smell) and I think some acetalaldehyde (cooked vegetable) smells/flavors. Not terrible, not great, and 10 oz. pours were priced like pints at other breweries. Here comes the bad part, though. We also ordered some clam chowder and pretzel bites. We got the food at our inside table and the chowder was the worst we've ever had in our lives. Campbells and Progresso well exceed the quality of this 'soup'. It didn't taste like clams, there was no discernible seasoning or flavor from onions or garlic, and it had obviously been thickened (into glop) with cornstarch. It might also have been scorched during cooking. It was so bad that we each took two bites and had to stop. And we are *not* picky eaters. The pretzel bites (for $15) were plentiful, but obviously a commodity product heated up...barely. The beer cheese dip was good and the mustard had a nice kick, but that much money for a pile of frozen pretzel bites is ridiculous. So, $40+ for two 10oz beers and food so bad we threw 90% of it in the garbage. The staff was nice enough, the live music outside was bad, but the food. Holy moly the food was terrible. Oh, and the beers weren't great. We will not be going back, and don't think you should go either.

The menu is complete with starters (very generous portions), soups, salads, entrees ... so much to select from. We shared the pretzel with queso and the potato skins. Two of us had salads (very fresh and tasty). And the other person in our party chose the cheeseburger with onion rings. Service was amazing. We almost forgot it was the beginning of a holiday weekend. I highly recommend this restaurant. Specifically, this location. My experience definitely deserves more than five stars.

Although there was a short wait to be seated, it was less than three minutes, and we were quickly shown to a cozy corner table tucked away from the pub and the main dining area. Our waitress greeted us warmly and took our drink orders. I ordered a Blue Moon, while my wife tried their version of a margarita. The beer was enjoyable, but my wife was not a fan of her drink, as it lacked the traditional margarita flavor she was expecting. For dinner, I decided to try something new and ordered the traditional Reuben sandwich. The bread was nicely grilled, and although I am not usually a fan of pickled vegetables, the sauerkraut was actually quite good. Overall, the sandwich was enjoyable, though I felt it could have used a bit more corned beef. My wife ordered the chicken fajitas, but unfortunately, they were disappointing. The chicken was dry, and the dish overall missed the mark. As we were leaving, her final comment summed up the experience: "We probably would have had a better meal at the 99." While parts of the meal were enjoyable, the overall experience did not quite live up to our expectations after such a long time away.

So glad we found this place while up here in vacation for the week! Seated right away and great,…read morefriendly service all around. Sat outside, which was really nice. Busy but easy to talk to the person across from you. The fountain noise added to the pleasant ambience. We had a special of shrimp and pesto with pasta and a plate of the bolognese. Both were outstanding. We'd never seen shrimp paired with pesto, but it worked perfectly. The bolognese might be the best I've ever had. The sauce is really loaded with flavor, with some surprises, like rosemary. Just SO good. Although a little tricky with the large tag pasta. But that's irrelevant. We then went with the Neapolitan cheesecake. Even though I'm a cheesecake snob, I've never seen a cheesecake made with three layers like this: plain, strawberry and chocolate. At first I wasn't sure, as there's a lot of flavors going on, especially with the added chocolate sauce and (delicious) fresh whipped cream. Very creamy. Perfect! We'd absolutely go back. This place is a home run for us.

I'm actually still at the bar right now writing this post because I'm so appalled by the lack of attention. Dirty plates left while other plates are dropped off. Zero care for if we need anything. Having to wave them Down over and over again just for the basic needs of a guest. Not a single "can I get you something" was said. Drinks, food, entrees. First and last visit here for sure. But the ambience is nice so 2 stars. But we won't be back. Was suggested this place and Drove all The way from Harwich for this. Don't waste your time.
