The Valley Grille is my family's favorite breakfast restaurant in Mashpee! When it came time to plan my sons first birthday party, I wanted a setting that felt like home, and immediately thought of The Valley Grill. Dawn and Wil were fantastic to work with throughout the planning process and really hit it out of the park with a creative menu, and room set up. The day of service and food was amazing-Gail, Kellie, and Kristi have all become such friendly faces to see when we go back for breakfast. I highly recommend The Valley Grille for everything from a quick bite to eat or drink to larger gathering occasions/celebrations.

Everything was great especially the food. Friendly service, a short wait, and did I mention the food was good.

First and foremost, I did not grow up on the cape so I have no ties to this place.

We started on the bar side, which was extremely busy and we couldn't find a seat for about 30 minutes. The only downside is that seating is first come, first serve, so you end up hovering around tables waiting for people to leave, which wasn't ideal. We eventually got frustrated and went next door. Even though they're separate, the bar and restaurant are connected, so you can easily walk between the two. We ended up having an amazing meal at the restaurant side, so it was definitely worth switching over. I highly recommend the lobster roll. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of the experience on the bar side.

Additionally, the bathroom was dirty and tiny. And finally, the my food wasn't great. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap, and was super disappointed. The wrap was too wet, the chicken had no seasoning and was ice cold, and the lettuce was extremely moist and slimy. It just didn't taste fresh. Also very little Caesar dressing. The only good thing in my meal were the fries and the pickle. I will say, however, the service was pretty good. Our waitress was super nice and got our food out quickly despite it being packed. They also had a bingo game going which was cool. I would come here for fries and drinks, but not really for the food.

It was a little surprising that a room with such a large common space would have two queen beds instead of a king bed, though. The staff, including housekeeping, did a great job making us feel like guests of honor all weekend long, with a bride and groom welcome setup and several refreshes of the room while we were away. We were also able to book one of the dog-friendly rooms at the last minute, in which my mom stayed with our dog. There was lots of green space on and off the property for our dog to explore on walks. The Coonamessett also hosted our morning-after-the-wedding buffet breakfast, which we coordinated through their special events team five months before the wedding. The food was pretty good, nothing special, but was a little on the pricier side (to be expected for a wedding-related event). Since they weren't hosting a wedding on-site that weekend, we were able to use the entire ballroom space. A couple hotel guests wandered in and grabbed a plate before we informed them it was a private event. The Coonamessett even opened the bar for our guests (my niece and nephew said the espresso martinis were good!).

Spend half of your toxic energy on your restaurant and it would surely improve :). The service was great, but unfortunately the food did not meet expectations. As a restaurant known for its pancakes, I was very disappointed in the quality of them. I had really high hopes for them especially as they were a major pregnancy craving, but they were not fluffy nor very tasty. I've had much better pancakes at chain restaurants or even at home unfortunately. We also got the philly steak omelet and lobster eggs benedict, which were just ok. Additionally a $6.50 side of bacon came with just a couple limp, greasy pieces. The restaurant is a little tight too and it feels like everyone around you is right on top of you. I wish I was a fan as most everyone else seems to be, but I can't get there. With so many options in the area, we'll try something else next time.
