I was excited to return to Nautilus after having their pizza for the first time a couple months earlier and drove out of my way to order here. I ordered a veggie pizza and cheese pizza as well as bread on Dec.16. I'm not sure what happened, but none of it was edible. The dough was overworked and undercooked. I called shortly after getting home and my husband and I taking our first bite to alert the person who rang me up so they didn't serve anyone else bad dough, but they must have been closed already. I left a message and asked for a call back about what happened. Nobody called me back. I called back again and there was no answer. I didn't see a point in leaving a message again since nobody returned the first call. If this has been my first visit, I would be leaving one star, but since I know that they CAN make good pizza, I left two stars. If I stop by again and have a better experience, I'll change my review, but since they didn't care enough to return my call, I'm not sure if that will happen. Time shall tell. read more

This was like a childhood spot for me. We grew up working near here and the pizza rolls and subs were a part of my diet for years. Anyhow, I hadn't been around there in years and then they closed, so I was a little bummed, but when I drove by the other night, I saw they were open and took a chance on them. BINGO. The original pizza rolls I loved so much and subs were back. The steak was great, although I'd probably add mayo next time, and the pizza roll was just like I remembered. I let me wife and kids all try it and the all loved the roll, too. Needless to say, we r gonna be going back for plenty of cheat days in the future. So stoked to have this place back with same recipes but new owners. Old owner is a great guy and I hear he stuck around and shared his recipes, so that's likely why everything was so good! This is Naut the best pizza in Detroit, but we're talking about perhaps the best and most consistent pizza cities on earth, so calling Nautilus top 10 is a massive compliment. But not a complement, or it'd be like, free peanuts and some sh**. Really delicious pizza shop in Westland with a really nice owner. They make some really delicious yummy saucy juicy slices and reheating them is no problem because they're still just as good. Sadly, they're pretty quiet out in the Burbs that nobody really moves to, and extremely cheap as well. Currently one of the best 10 slices I've had in the area, which is saying a hell of a lot, in this town anyway. Naut your average pizza. Give it a try. read more

Man, this place is nothing short of amazing. The prices really do seal the deal for me too. They have better prices than any other place I've ever been and the food is fantastic. I had the pizza for the first time last night, and a cold sub for the first time last week. Both were excellent! The sub was huge and full of toppings! It was enough to feed two. And yesterday when I ordered the pizza, we also got fries and I tried a fountain drink. Can't beat a fountain drink for 80¢. I have no idea how this place is in business with this low of prices but you don't see me complaining!! The only thing was that the fries could've been a little more done but as someone who doesn't really like crispy fries anyway, I was completely satisfied the way they were. Placed an order and told it would be 40 minutes because the owner is out delivering. Okay. Went to pick up my order which was a salad and their Thursday baked potato. When I got there I was told there was nothing on my order. She had my name but nothing on it????? Obviously she made an error. She called the owner who was not back yet, she relayed to me there is nothing she can do, it takes 8 hours to make the potato. I asked if that was the salad too, no reply except, "I can't control when the owner comes in." So I ordered, waited 40 minutes to not pick up anything. Why be open, why have someone there, why pick up the phone if you are not producing the food. I'm confused and will never go back. read more

We needed a huge order for a pizza party for staff and patients at a nearby hospital. Robert was more than willing to work with us, when not many others were! old customer that came to check out the new shop. They cleaned up the store. Not sure if they have the same pizza oven or not because they switched the lay out. I had a pepperoni and my wife had the BLT. We both enjoyed them. The pizza sauce on the pepperoni was sweeter and the crust was crispier than before. Will definitely try again soon. read more

This place is one of my places to get lunch or dinner on a budget. Subs, pizza pockets, pizza it's all quality ingredients. A classic gem in my book, I miss the 80s style mom and pop pizza places. I've been going here for about 10 years, maybe longer. My mom lives right down the street. I went to school with the guys daughter. He's friendly and hardworking and has owned the place for over 23 years. The prices are dirt cheap. $2.50 for a giant pizza roll(1 item, extras are only about 35 cents each) with a small soda and $3 cheesey bread. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Carryout only. We took everyone's advice and decided to try these delicious subs that seem to be all the rage with you people on here. Damn. You were all right. I was amazed at how great they are. I had the steak, cheese, and mushroom. It was amazing. The steak was tasty and plentiful. Good amount of cheese, onions, and mushrooms to compliment the steak; not overpower it. And the bread was perfect. The bread, to me, can make or bresk a sub. The bread for the subs at Nautilus perfects their subs. And we couldn't get over the low prices!! If you're in Westland, and looking for something to eat, this is the place to go. I'm a long time customer, and Bill is the man. I prefer the steak & cheese sub with italian dressing, and a bag of bbq Better Made chips, but anything you try is good. Take my word for it. The prices are very reasonable, and most of the time the owner will throw in a free pop or chips. I could just get this hook-up because I'm a regular though. Great sub tonight! I had the super. Good choice of meats, cheese and vegetables. The bread is very unique. It's like a fresh roll. Crispy crust and soft inside. It's very big also. I ordered the smaller sub, 8inch. It was plenty big enough for a meal. Great price too, less than four bucks! I recommend it and will go again and probably try the pizza roll. We go for the subs. I like the Steak and Cheese and the Italian. They have super fresh ingredients and good service.
