The smell of weed should be your first sign to just leave... outside ATM is normally down so you are forced to go to inside AtM again the weed smell as soon as you open the door is worse than going to a dispensary. The atm normally has a like of people who don't look like they have ever used an atm. And again standing in the smell is overwhelming, had to leave because inside the actual bank smells just as bad. read more

I was approved for a vehicle loan on my Navy Fed app and was told to come to a branch and just pick up the check. I tried to make an appointment so I could walk in and out but the automated call line is not user friendly. I came to the closest branch about 10 minutes before they opened up and found out there was only one banker available. The other members came in at 930...odd. They came in and took their sweet time to finally get to me. It took less than 5 minuets to print out my check. I drive to the dealership with my check and go to pay for the car I wanted, only to find out that Navy Fed valued the car nearly $4000 less than what it was being sold for. Great, now I'm over it. Thankfully, car dealerships being car dealerships, they lowered the price. Now I get to go back to the Navy Fed branch (60 miles or so), and of course it's busy hours. I walk in and get set up and there's 6 people ahead of me. No big deal, but I'm here for something that should take 5 minutes. I can hear the conversations of the individual bankers, so when one is free they call the name of the next person. If the person isn't there then they call them on the phone to see if they are in the area (they have 5 minuets to respond). One banker calls a name, nobody responds, then just goes back into her office and does...who knows. No phone call, nothing. So I wait about another 20 minutes and the same banker (of course) calls a name. It could be my name, it could be someone else's, I have no clue. So I say my last name, and this lady gives me attitude. Now I understand I have a somewhat difficult last name, but my first is super simple and they had been calling people by their first names they entire time I've been here, so no, don't give attitude. So in a nut shell, poor time management, poor quality control of the automated phone call system, no sense of urgency for customers, garbage communication skills of some of the bankers and garbage understanding when it comes to the loan to begin with. I will give three positive points though, because even in trash you can find jems. The banker who helped me in the morning was a sweetheart and got things handled very fast. The lady at the very front who helped me in the afternoon was another sweetheart. And finally, because they undervalued the car, they got me a significant discount (around $4000). Just be ready for a lengthy stay. read more

I called Navy Federal call center and the young girl by the name of Shaquista was my representative and she was super helpful very patient she needs to be rewarded for her customer service because this girl was on point. I'm not sure how to get to the technicians that actually help through Navy Federal but I had talked to two technicians Mary and Latrell before I spoke with Shaquista and they were not able to help me this young girl got on the phone and she helped me and she walked me through what the other two Representatives could not. It is so rare to see anyone like Shaquita with these exceptional phone service skills when the economy and the workforce is lacking any type of respect to customers that do calls in and when I tell you I've had my share of rudeness from Navy Federal all the way from the technicians inside the bank and all the way down to the technicians on the phone. And a lot of the reasons why I use phone technicians because the Navy Federal here on Moreno valley it's a hot mess in there the technicians got too much time and they has to chit chat with the co-workers and things like that and there's no business getting done in there they challenge you at every turn and then the wait time in there is astronomical and then they tell you I'll be with you in a few minutes and then you're sitting there for 2 hours you need to do better Navy Federal read more

This review is for Navy Federal in general. I have been dealing with them regarding my mother's and father's trusts and these people are the worst! They cannot answer any of your questions when you call the one and only number they have. Anything dealing with a Trust or an IRA has to be handled by "the back office" and they are all in Virginia. So, the person you get ahold of at the branch has to contact the back office then they email back and forth to each other while you sit there and wait for hours. They tell you to mail documents then they say "oh we are sorry those are the wrong documents". I have been trying to resolve an issue with them for nearly three months now. You cannot contact anyone there in the Trust department unless you email them. They will NOT pick up the phone and talk to you. And most of the people who work in the branches don't know s**t from shinola. read more

There should be no reason the line is backed all the way to the door on the first business day of the month and there are STILL only TWO teller windows open. My expectation when. I am a Disabled Navy Veteran, I went in to open an account and I was told that there was one person ahead of me and at that point I expressed to the young Hispanic lady that I was In somewhat of a hurry but I would go ahead and wait, and I would leave and come back another day if I needed to. Now upon observation, the entire staff is of a Latin heritage, and by the way that I am writing this review it is obvious that it is not meant in anyway of being prejudiced. So as I am waiting the rep finishes with the person that was ahead of me, spends some time with her colleagues chit chatting and then calls a person ahead of me for a express service ‍ Only one rep. Working now as I am writing this they are done with that person as wand are now chit chatting again and I am waiting. Let's see what transpired from here. So they hd again called another person ahead of me for another express account, so at this point I was on my way out and asked the young lady " so today is a bad day to open an account then right " she tried to console me. Long story short I had to call NFCU so that they could call into this branch and have them ready to open me an account when I arrived. Nice work Moreno Valley, I would suggest that you have a corrective action meeting and express to the staff the difference between personal and business behavior. read more

Thieves. Once I thought that the military represented honesty and integrity. Maybe I was just too naïve. I tried to make a deposit on my Navy Federal credit union account via the ATM. The ATM malfunctioned and took $120 from me. The Navy Federal credit Union didn't even acknowledge it and they stole $120 from me. They took this money, I appealed it, and they denied it. My advice: Do not go to this disreputable, dishonest credit union. They will steal from you and they will not admit that they did. read more

They have terrible customer service. I had a small problem transferring fuel from another bank -which I've corrected. They discontinued my account and when I called I was put on hold for over an hour and a half. The representative the asked my name and put me on hold 20 minutes before disconnecting the call. The availability of my deposited checks, the customer service at this branch for my husband to access our funds (which he is also a member). Geez. It is a good thing that I can only go as low as 1 star, as this bank is bs. They have an interesting system built into their banking, to where they feel that they deserve to charge you for money that you don't have, what do I mean? I mean that, lets say that you dont have any money in your NFCU account, or not enough money, and one of your bills comes up, they will "block" the charge, they wont let the charge overdraft you or whatnot, but they will act as if they have the right to charge you for money that you dont have. Every time one of my recurring payments comes through my account, sometimes more recently, with the hardships so many of us are going through right now, admittedly, I dont have the money for some of these bills at the time, so that warrants me being penalized for not having enough money? Every time one of these payments is failed, because you dont have the money for the payment, they have some kind of system rigged for you to be charged 29 dollars; what do I owe your bank 29 dollars for? Imagine you have a charge coming from some unknown place, maybe even a hacker, and the charge is going through over and over again, every time they block the charge, you could look at your account, and see a owed balance of 1000s of dollars because of their sketchy system. So recently, I deposited my hard-earned tax money, that I really needed, that the IRS already robbed me of, this was a very late tax return, the IRS took about 1700 bucks from the amount that was supposed to be written in stone that I was getting. So I put my already reduced IRS tax return check in my Navy Federal account, against my better judgement, I wish I hadn't, low and behold, although I purposely put the money in one of the other accounts than the one that had the "owed balance" that I supposedly owe them for "blocking" charges, immediately upon depositing my check into the account, that amount was subtracted from my money. I truly feel like if I had more time, than what I immediately need, I would leave Navy Federal, they have some borderline, or more than borderline; fraudulent practices. read more

I've been with Navy Federal since 2011-12 and I have never been disappointed you walk into any branch and they are so friendly and the cleark is always on top of your transaction if you call in to the call center they are very detailed this will always be my bank I can't imagine going back to a regular bank. Seems like in the last few years NFCU has been having more and more "GLITCHES" in their banking systems. Also seems to be happening on my FRIKIN pay days!! Either direct deposit, online banking, ATM cards, cash access, and customer service has been nothing but mediocre. Systems always going downhill. I really feel useless when I can't access cash threw a bank that you trust basically with your lively hood.....after 29 years with this mediocre company, I'm Ready for a change....need to find a local credit union near home.... to all my fellow Sailors and Veterans, I recommend you going elsewhere.... not worth the trouble. I understand that a two business day old is standard for check deposits. My issue is after a day and a half I receive an email at 10:34 pm that the payroll check I deposited will not be available for another 5 business days making it a full week before I'm able to access funds from my paycheck. Once this check is cleared I will be closing my accounts and taking my business elsewhere. read more

Many years ago, I really loved Navy Federal Credit Union. I recently decided to leave big banking and take 2 very large accounts back to them. I am no longer active duty, but a veteran who was actually proud to be returning to do business with them. There is no way to express just how completely stunned, and disappointed at my experience over the last few months. I have not had a working account yet, all due to things that hsv3 been completely out of my control, and through no fault of chase, which is one of the banks I was transferring from. Then to top it off, I have had such horrible experiences with rude representatives on the phone. Along with 2 times being placed on hold for 42 minutes on one call, fir which I finally hung up because I knew they were at that point closed, and I could be holding until the next day. Then to be told I should plan to be on hold for over an hour, just to get them to turn loose of money they took from my chase account, and though I have gone into branches to show my identity, they still will not close the account that they apparently opened just to get my money from chase, but then will not let me have access to no matter what I do. Needless to say, I'm absolutely not leaving chase for an institution that operates like this. I do notknow what happened to them, but it is not the same Navy Federal I was once a member of. There is no way I would entrust them with 200 dollars, much less 200k after this experience is finally handled. I'm not sure how they could still even be in business, given what this experience has been like. I am shocked that anyone would entrust them with anything. It has been such an inexcusable, and unpleasant experience from the start, and I only got as far as having them transfer the money from chase to open the account. I guess the only good thing to come from this, is that they have only held me in this hostage situation with a smaller transfered amount of money from my chase account. I did not leave chase, nor did I transfer a large amount to Navy Federal, so they harmed me no further than just several months of being an absolute maddening nonsensical outrageous business model, disregard, disrespect of my time, while holding the money they managed to take from my bank account with Chase hostage, my going into branches to prove my identity OVER AND OVER, being tossed around, cut off, hung up on, or put on hold to infinity, etc., I will eventually finally be done with this hassle, and this institution and whatever happened to it forever. Thank GOD!! So I cannot at all ever again recommend navy federal credit union for anything, most especially business as important as ones finances. That's for sure. read more

I gonna start my saying I am the first to sing the praises of this bank HOWEVER, today I went in to the bank and was totally discriminated against by Sahim (or however you spell it.) EVERY month I go I to the bank and take money out of my prepaid account to deposit in my Navy Fed acct to get a Cashier check For my rent....so I give her my California "REAL ID" and my passport first she triple checked my Id's which is fine all my IDs are legit then she ask me two security questions which I answered then she gets my visa and then she says oh I can't match the name of the bank so I can take money out of your acct. I DO THIS TRANSFER EVERY DAMN Month then all of a sudden she can't do it. So she goes to get the assistant manager that comes out to tell me that everyone has been doing the process wrong since the pandemic. Had I not been BLACK (which I Never use the race card) but this was so disrespectful so the manager comes out and says I'll make an exception this time. What is the difference if the bank could not be verified why did she do it for me. The racism was real today in the bank I'm so disappointed on how I was treated. Navy Federal is not a friend to active military and definitely retired military. I always find better deals and Luck with interest rates on personal or car loans, even with credit over 800 I feel NFCU is not on our side like they advertise. They should be audited. It's also very difficult to pull out a over 5k of your own money when there is no NFCU around. From experience you can't. All my loans and credit have been with other banks besides NFCU! Ok over the years this credit union has gone down hill to the point that I have started the process to take my money and business elsewhere.First off I got there just as they were closing and they refused to take my cash deposit (large sum) at the drive up and suggested I go to walk up atm(that's not gonna happen 10k).2nd incident took them a week for a cashiers check to clear. And for the final straw after having multiple car loans that have been paid off years early with a credit score @ 824 website states rates as low as 3.79 and they hit me at 4,19 (not to mention I have over 80k in their credit union).So I am taking my cash and closing my credit card with a 25k limit tomorrow.,horrible bank!!! read more

NO Stars for Navy Federal Credit Union. I have been a victim of identity theft and received a credit card in the mail in September. I immediately called, informed NFCU of the ID theft. More than 2 months later, I am getting bills and late notices from NFCU. Every time I call, they tell me I have to talk to security and it's always a 2 hour wait. I've done everything on my end, credit freezes disputes, etc but Navy Federal Credit Union refuses to help me close this out at least. What an Upstanding Business. read more

We visited this branch today for an IRA transaction and was asked if we have an appointment. We are existing members. Before we came in, I called their call center if I needed an appointment. Kellen from the call center put me on hold so she can contact the branch. She then told me that we can go in anytime as there is always a representative in the branch. But guess what? The receptionist said that we NEEDED an appointment. There is some kind of disconnect from the call center and the branch. It is very disappointing as well as time consuming to have driven there and not be able to take care of our business. This is the second time it happened to us which you would think that it would have been fixed. There seems to be a system issue that need to be straightened out so that clients will not be misled and misinformed. read more

Life saver!! Got a call to say that somebody had somehow stold my mail and tried to cash a check that I supposedly had written!! Thank God for fast thinking Nancy a Navy Fed employee noticed that my check was written differently and it was out of the norm for me to write a personal check out to a person! She caught it gave me a call and explained what was going on. She promptly froze my account until I could get there, which took 20 minutes. I ended up having to close my account for safety reasons and open a new account. The bank manager Robert came in and spoke with me as well assured me that they had video of this person as well. I experienced great customer service at this branch when I opened my account for the first time. This place is conveniently located right next door to Sam's Club. Also, in the area are Walmart, Target, WinCo, and Costco. The place is neat and clean enough the thing is, like most popular places, it gets busy and crowded in this branch. You will have to wait unless you are in a lucky slow period. They have an ATM and drive through though if you just want to get some cash or drop a deposit. It is a credit union, not a regular bank. So it is meant for those who work for the military or are related to military service members. read more
