I've eaten here 11 times. The shish kabob plate is good while there, but is always dried up rock hard whenever I take it home to go (short life). The service can be hard to get there most of the time, but i'm ok with that. Once, I had to take my glass to the bathroom to fill my water up. The kefta and lamb kefta is very tasty and moist.. but the pure chicken and beef is a dried up nuisance. The food doesn't last in the fridge at home for a few hours. Nazif's used to have better quality food but just tried it after a long time it's not the same. I used to recommend this place so much that now I don't even like it. They must have changed the chef or something. Came with my mom and dad to eat here, and it was absolutely amazing! We ordered Falafel, Lentil Balls, Lentil Soup, Lahmacun, Chicken Shish Kebab, and Iskender! Every single dish was amazing, full of flavor and perfect, I haven't enjoyed a restaurant as good as this one in a long time! I'm sure all there dishes are absolutely wonderful. I come here almost every Sunday for brunch. It's absolutely amazing and has become a tradition amongst me and my friends. The çay is complimentary and the food is fresh and authentic. It's a little bit on the pricy side but so worth it. Make sure to make reservations at least the night before tho! The first time I ever came here I didn't know to make a reservation and there weren't any actual tables open, but the fab waitresses pulled a table from outside and some chairs and put a table cloth over it and set the table for us. It was super nice of them but it's so much easier on everyone to just make a reservation ahead. Also, THEY HAVE SIMIT! I haven't found a place in Houston that makes fresh simit and Nazif's is wonderful. Simit is a thinnish bagel type thing covered in sesame seeds. It's about $2 I think. Get one and split it with your friend! They're stunning with some of the jams they have sitting out. Oh, and if you get there at the right time on Sunday mornings they have live Turkish music! I read some negative reviews from people has no idea what Turkish food is. you people should just continue enjoying your McDonalds and stay away from trying the most awesome eggplant salads and other authentic foods made to exact to its region. I'm giving them 2 instead of 1 star because one of the dishes we got was fantastic. But the service here has to have been one of the worst experiences I have ever had a restaurant ever. First of all, they weren't running the AC when the high today was 103°. People were actually fanning others in their parties with menus. Ridiculous! Speaking of the menu, this place is very expensive and it's unwarranted as most other excellent Middle Eastern restaurants are reasonably priced. This place is a rip-off. Then we ordered and it took over 30 minutes for our food to come. We ordered the Alinazik and the Mixed Pide. The Alinazik was one of the most amazing tasting dishes I have ever had at a Middle Eastern restaurant. But the Mixed Pide was extremely underwhelming compared to how good it is at practically every other Turkish restaurant. It completely lacked flavor and the Sucuk (or what was supposed to be Sucuk) has absolutely no taste. It was like chopped up hot dogs. Overall, blah. In the whole time we were there, we saw our waiter maybe twice the entire evening. Not once did we get any apologies for the horrible inattentive service. Finally, when we were done, we asked for the check and that started to take over 15 minutes. Finally, I got up and stood at the counter until they handed me the check. I had had enough. As good as the Alinazik was, this was a miserable experience. I will never be back. read more

Lahmacun (La-mah-chun) is delicious! And so is Adana kabab. Their service, staff, ambience - everything exceeded my expectations way too much! And I love that! I hadn't heard about them until I saw their Groupon and decided to buy it. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant interior - especially since it is located in an ordinary strip mall. It also helped that I visited Turkey recently and developed great fondness for their food - this place hits the nail. Lahmacun is a must try (the spicy one is yummy). I'd like to try their Alinazik - I am told its very tasty. And BYOB is such a plus! For my first visit, this is a 5 star - I hope it remains that way because I know I'm going back for sure. read more

Just had Sunday lunch (definitely not brunch) here and it was ok. I'm generously giving it 3 stars because the staff was attentive but in terms of quality of food I'm not quite sure. There was a buffet there which you have to get until 2 and what to you know we were there at 1:50, starving and caved in. There were only 3 warm dishes, eggs, potato and spinach pie. The other items were alright, broccoli, eggplant, and more eggplant. There were cupcakes for dessert. Drinks were included (I think) and they had Turkish tea also. The price was $16.95 which I found a bit steep. Don't think I'll be return but applaud what they are trying to do here. read more

At $20.00 plate for brunch, only meat served is chicken hotdogs in sauce and sliced salami. The tea was too light and weak made by teabags no coffee and there were no JUICE! Came here for the supposedly very popular Sunday brunch buffet. Even though we were there at around 10:45-11 (the brunch begins at 10:30) all the food was very cold; which is surprising, since they should have been freshly put out too. The cheeses and some of the prepared dishes looked (and tasted) like they had been put out the night before...and the pogacas were burnt! Almost completely black - they should have been discarded, not served. The honey and jam was also the pre-packaged little containers you get at like a hotel breakfast - at $20 a plate, you expect much better - especially when Turkish food is based on quality and fresh ingredients. The service was excellent though - but the food was cold and wet and subpar - really wanted to like this place, but was sorely disappointed. read more

Went there with my husband after buying a Groupon. I am so glad to have discovered this place. It was amazing! Food wad incredible most importantly fresh and made to order. Very authentic and lovely atmosphere with nice music and lots of families. We ordered the kunefe for dessert. AMAZING!!!! Nazif's is in my opinion, the best Turkish grill/restaurant in Houston. The food is very fresh and wait staff is polite and friendly. Lunched here on Wednesday January 18. My husband had the burger and it was cooked just right and tasted good but wasn't great. I had a salad that was drenched in ranch dressing. I probably should have ordered the dressing on the side but didn't. When I told the waitress that it was drenched in dressing she said oh it's not usually like that and turned around and walked off. Good food. Tastes really fresh. Service was ok I think she was new. The humus was out of this world. The pide was the bomb.

Service was horrible...It took a long time for our food to arrive and I did not even get my water refilled. In addition, I brought in a Groupon ($40 for 4 or more people) and was quick to show it to them so there is no confusion upon payment. The waitress gladly told me to hang on to it. So, upon receiving our bill, the waitress said I could NOT use my groupon because we had ordered only 2 main dishes. Why didnt she tell me this in the first place? On top of that she charged us a 15% gratuity indicating that Groupon mandates that. I have used Groupons at other establishments and I was not charged the 15% gratuity. I am disgusted at the service and how the waitress did not even apologize for the confusing Groupon and the fact that she could have informed us of the 4 main requirement upon ordering. We ended up ordering 2 more main dishes to go so we could use the Groupon, but with 2 toddlers among us, we were not happy waiting around for our to go order. As for the food, it was good despite the meager quantity. I ordered the Extra Mixed Grill thinking I would have a nice feast, but that was far from it. Beware of using a Groupon at this establishment and dont expect quality service. read more
