we visited this restaurant to try their Knafeh. The ambience is beautiful. Although we wanted to try their Knafeh but could not stop ourselves from ordering other items on their menu. Veg and Chicken Pide are good. Knafeh was out of the world as expected. The staff was good and quick with service. Lentil balls was not what I expected. I was expecting them to be fried. They were nothing but lentils with some spices. Overall, it was a good experience. Will return to this place to try some other items except lentil balls.

First time here, and it was very good!! Lahmacun and shepherds salad were exactly what we wanted!

The restaurant looks nice and clean when you walk in. The waitress was attentive and nice. The menus were diverse. I liked that they had vegan and vegetarian meals clearly marked. My friend liked the chicken kebab platter. The chicken was tasty. The only downside was having French fries on the platter, as they seemed out of place. The falafel wrap was good, and the veggies in the wrap were fresh. When signing the bill, I noticed gratuity was already added. I am fine this idea, as I always tip anyway.

Usually I always come to Nazif on week days and really like their kabobs and lentil soup also rice pudding. Today we came with my friends to Nazif on Sunday and they had open buffet. I recommend to come and try their open buffet as well beside week days. Food was so delicious and fresh everything was so good as always.

We really enjoyed our first visit to this foodie paradise, we're already planning the next visit. My wife and I both got lunch combos from the last page of their extensive menu. My wife got the combo 3, ground meat pideh.....looks like a pizza shaped like a canoe, yum, lentil soup which was the best thing we both ate, and rice pudding. Each combo lets you choose between a selection of entrees, fries, salad or soup, a dessert and a soft drink. I went with the combo 4, I picked the beef stew pideh, lentil soup, baklava and a diet coke. The lentil soup arrived with a basket of bread that went well with the soup. Great food and stellar service, we'll be back soon.

    Kunafe

Food is consistently amazing and servers are so friendly and attentive. One thing I appreciate so much is that they have a spot for people to pray in private! Their kunafe is the BEST in Houston and I've tried it at a lot of places. I also love the baby shish, wings, and keema & cheese pide. I highly recommend!

This was by far the worst Mediterranean food I've had in my life. Normally they have an ala carte menu but because of Ramadan, they had a buffet also available and it was priced at $25 per person. I came here with a few other friends as they wanted to dine with me. We had a total of four people of which two were fasting and two were not. We were all excited about the buffet but it fell way below our expectations. The line was very long as there were hungry fasters ready to fill their plates. The first thing I noticed was that there was no beef kebabs and basically no beef dish except for a cheap look-alike version of stroganoff which by the way tasted awful and penne pasta with ground beef?? They had a chicken dish which look good as it had chunky cubes of chicken but it was very dry and bland at the same time. The hummus was also very dry and pasty and the Greek salad was mediocre at best. The tabouli needed more lime and garlic and I don't even know how to describe the other dishes that were on the buffet. I don't even know what they were and I struggled to develop a taste for them. There was a desert section with plenty of desserts but nothing that stood out as I sampled and nibbled my way towards utter disappointment. There was a plate of some mangoes and pineapple which I somewhat enjoyed. This place was an absolute rip off and this buffet is not even worth $10 and to not have any good beef item, deserves the price to be slashed by $10 at least. Save yourself the money and just go to Dimassi's right down the street. These people offer a very misleading buffet And I'm still upset at blowing away $30.

We stopped by for an early dinner at about 6 pm. Yes that's early for our desi standards. We were greeted and since we had a reservation, we were warmly seated and tables adjusted to accommodate our party of six folks. Unfortunately those seating was too hot and sun was shining right on our table and was very hot so we requested and moved to a different booth. The restaurant was very busy and the staff was warm but struggling to keep up with the customers. The AC was not working and still at our new sear we were HOT and sweating...swearing. Our orders took about 20 mins to come but felt almost like an hour because of the heat. The appetizers were probably complimentary and were the most tasty. The mixed grill and the burger was served in a different wooden platter which was unique and tasted good. The drink we ordered was the ' Uludag ' and was an orange Soda. It feels bad but overall we could not be comfortable bcoz of the heat and felt the staff was nice and polite but over worked and understaffed and could not even get us water and tea and drink took a long time and apologized profusely.

After a very busy day, my wife and I deserved a very delicious lunch. This was the perfect choice (our 21 year recommended). Eating here was our first but it won't be our last. We enjoyed the quick service and friendly environment. Waitresses were very polite, especially Ms. Perihan and knowledgeable about the food. I definitely recommend this to everyone.. (my wife asked to to also include that it is a very clean place:)

I cannot recommend this place enough. Food is delicious - they are attentive. Sultans choice dessert was so good - lamb was delicious - dips are great

    Taking a break from Imelda!

I hate to lower my rating but service was terrible. There were only two waitresses. I wasn't offered water. I had to ask for it as well as for bread. They used to bring silverware wrapped in a napkin and I didn't get any. I had to again ask for it when I received my vegetarian sampler platter. I could have used a napkin when I got the bread with olive oil. The menu has changed and the prices have gone up. A salmon sandwich is about $16 from what I saw on the menu. I used to love this place for the reasonable prices and better service.

I really enjoyed everything that we ordered at Nazif's! The chicken kebab was phenomenal & so juicy. The lahmacun was some of the best that I have tasted. We appreciated the clean environment, friendly service, and the owner was very attentive. Great place to enjoy delicate Turkish flavors in Texas! I'll definitely be back.

The reception area was small and almost claustrophobic, but very ornate. There were a few chairs for you to wait. We didn't wait long, probably less than a minute. As the hostess lead us into the main dinning area, I was shocked on how big the place was (it reminding me of the big meat market restaurants in NYC). The first room was bright from the outside sunlight, almost like an outside cafe. Our table was in a different area, where it was a little darker and decorated a lot differently from the previous room. As I looked around, there were other sections at this restaurant that kind of represented different places. The section we sat in had a very long table...which I'm guessing can host a very big family or corporate party. It sat right next to the open kitchen. Our waitress, Yaretzy, was very nice. She explained how the owners traveled to the different states of India and want to share that experience at Musaafer. Yaretzy would provide an explanation for each dish. Some of them were mixed/put together table side. Everything was delicious, and not too spicy. Musaafer is fine dining, so it's not something we can do ever weekend. But we will be back. Getting here was a little tricky if you are not familiar with the area. The restaurant is located in the Galleria. The entrance to Musaafer is on the first floor inside the mall, down the hallway closest to Saks Fifth Ave on the right (if facing Saks). You will need to take the private elevator to the second floor or walk up the stairs. There is valet parking if you prefer to do that. I think there is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant that might be free, but we went into the underground Purple garage. If you park right after going down the ramp into the Purple garage, you will see an elevator into Saks Fifth Ave, which you take up and walk outside with a short walk to Musaafer. The only problem with what we did was when Saks closes, we couldn't take that elevator back down. There were stairs back down to the purple garage, but it stank! There had to be another elevator that will take you into the mall.

We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

The wings had no flavor at all and the coating/rub did not even stick to the actual wings. I'm so disappointed. This was my go-to halal wings place and now I have to find something else.

We opted to eat here, since they do have a small counter with a couple chairs and it was a long drive back--we wanted to try the wings fresh. We ordered the spicy honey lemon pepper wings and the buffalo garlic boneless wings. Also an order of fries and some cheese sticks. Sadly, they weren't offering waffle fries, because I was really looking forward to trying those. Out of all of the food, I probably liked the cheese sticks the best, but nothing was impressive to any degree. We had both ranch and bleu cheese, and it was hard to taste a difference between the two. They didn't put lids on some of the dipping sauces, so from the walk with our bag from the kitchen to the counter where we ate, white sauce spilled all over the bag and made a gigantic mess. The spicy honey lemon pepper tasted like mostly honey, but the wings themselves were cooked fine. The boneless wings were tough and the garlic flavor was just overall underwhelming. The fries were about as boring as it gets--I'd guess that they're frozen. The cheese sticks that I mentioned--I've actually had better at Jack in the Box. The guy who took our order was nice and easygoing, but he was constantly talking on the phone outside when not taking orders. To the extent that others who came in to order after us were taken aback and unsure if they needed to wait for him to finish his call. I really wanted to find a local business with great wings to support, but this was not it for me--I wouldn't come back.
