The badam sodheko had a very interesting flavour - the horseradish gave it a flavour unlike anything I've tasted before. It was a very heavy dish, especially for an appetizer, and I'm glad I had a dining partner to share it with. The tingmo shone because of the spicy tomato sauce. The sauce was bold, perfectly seasoned and light. We asked for a second serving of the sauce because we liked it so much. The bhatura was one of the crispiest bhaturas I have ever had the pleasure of trying - it paired especially well with the aloo from the thali. All the dishes in the thali were delicious, from the dal to the kheer. We received a complimentary gajar ka halva. It was incredibly creamy and decadent. The woman who served us was friendly and warm. She made sure we were well taken care of, and repeatedly checked in on us. The ambiance was simple but clean. This was one of my best meals in Chicago. I hope to keep returning to Sherpa kitchen during my time here!

The hummus was a little more on the sour side, and the texture of the salad was refreshing. The bread was also made fresh and was refillable as well, which we appreciated. My friend liked the falafel, but I think it was a little too dry, and I wish they could increase the intensity of the spices to make it pop out more. The chili sauce helped a lot though. Cairo Platter (Kofta, Chicken, Beef): The Kofta is my favorite-seasoned, soft and tender. Out of the two times I got this, the chicken and the beef were not as moist/juicy-they were okay. Overall I wish they gave us more Kofta though, since there wasn't much of it, and the platter was on the pricier side. Shawarma Plate: The shawarma was tasty and the portions were good. I personally liked adding the chili sauce on top. Macorrona Bechamel: Our favorite dish. It tasted like Mac and cheese but the flavors are even more nuanced and complex.
