I spoke with a few bespoke suit places and Jeff just got my style the best. While other suits were beautiful, I think the small details Jeff payed attention to and some of his designs for the more modern person. Pockets for days! Jeff was super friendly, accommodating and helpful. My lady requested a swatch of fabric to help tie together the Father's and best man's suit with mine and he was able to accommodate. The "funny" thing is I was wearing one of the suits I purchased from him in 2008. Still fits great. I wore a different sport coat and slacks into the office earlier this week from closer to 2006 and my office mates thought I got new clothes. They might cost more than an off-the-rack suit but I promise you that once you wear a custom suit, shirt or slacks you won't want to go back. And of course the cost per wear is pretty low after almost 20 years. And they aren't being removed from my closet. Jeff is super personable and not pushy. So awhile ago I had some trousers hemmed and a duffle coat and trench coat altered. At this time David took in alteration work outside his bespoke commissions (I understand that now he does made-to-measure, not true bespoke). His shop did a fine job, so I was pleased that when he decided not accept piecemeal alternation work from non-regular customers, he told me I would be an exception. I have just found out that he has reneged on this promise and will not do any alternations for me. As I'm sure many reading this will know, finding a good alternations tailor is difficult if not impossible in many areas of the US. I am fortunate that I make several trips to London every year so can have my alternations done there, but I cannot help feel aggrieved, especially as I went to some effort to promote David and recommended him to friends. High-end men's clothing is a small universe and one's reputation for integrity and honest dealing is all. For that reason, I cannot recommend this shop.

It is very strange for me to see so many negative reviews about Gian. I've been going to Gian for…read morenearly 3 years now and can safely say that he is absolutely the best tailor in Seattle. He knows what he is doing and is the only tailor in Seattle capable of making hand finished, high end garments. As with all artists, he has a perspective and won't do certain things he thinks will look poorly on a customer. Some people don't like that, I think it gives you comfort knowing that you won't come out looking ill-proportioned. He is not cheap, nor is he inexpensive, for either alterations or custom garments, but you get what you pay for and that is quality. People complaining about the cost of his alterations probably don't own garments nice enough to warrant his work. That is not meant to be a knock, but his expertise is best left for fine tailoring.
