I paid $89 for a "diagnosis" here and was given a nearly $9,500 estimate that was completely unreasonable. The parts on the quote were marked up massively--some over 100% compared to normal prices--and the amount of work they claimed was needed didn't line up with what I was later told by another shop. My husband and I purchased new tires for our daughter's car. After the service, all four PSI's stopped reading. I called Jay and he stated they probably needed to be reprogrammed with the new tires. I specifically asked if my daughter needed an appointment or if she could just pop in for that. Jay stated she could pop in anytime. She went on Tuesday and they turned her away. They told her to come back Thursday at 2:30. She did and those people let her sit and wait 2 HOURS and never touched her car!!!! No notes in the system, no reprogramming, not even a diagnostics! The dealership where I bought my vehicle gave me a quote to fix something on my SUV. Dealership estimate came in at $1,400+. I was dumbfounded. After making an appointment with them to fix it - I was thankful to stop at Neal Tire on my way home to see what they could do for me. Today was the day they did the work and a fine job it was!! It took them less than 40 minutes to fix and the total cost came to under $200!!!! $1,400+ versus under $200 at Neal Tire - who would use the dealership??? I don't understand the (few) negative comments left in the reviews because I have NEVER experienced less than quality, caring, competent service from Neal Tire. The very rude guy behind the counter said they didn't cause it and sent him on the way. I had been a customer at Terry Winn/Neal Tire for 15 years. Honest, smart, always going the extra mile. I have never had a worse experience than I did there today. The new GM has no clue. This was a business that excelled in customer service. Today was an enormous waste of time. Four hours for an oil change and to check the AC. If I hadn't inquired about my vehicle, I would still be sitting there. I always valued this business because they kept good people. I felt they must treat them right to keep great loyal employees. Unfortunately, two of them left and I have never seen something great turn to trash so fast. I'm not the only one who feels this way. Another loyal customer commented on the fact that they had worked on her car for two days and continued to make mistakes, she left again today without her vehicle being fixed. Once the last GM left, this became a wasteland. I don't begrudge people getting promoted, that's great, but have a succession plan. The person there now is the antithesis of the previous GM. Unfortunately, my experience at Neal getting new tires was not a very positive experience. Last month, my vehicle was at the dealership and the dealership told me I needed new tires. I saw the tread measurements and agreed it was time for new tires. I thought I would shop around knowing that dealer prices can be higher than other places. I got quotes from a couple different places, one of which was Neal. The quotes were not any cheaper than the dealership, which surprised me. I requested the quote from Neal online and a PDF with 2 quotes was sent to me. I replied back to the email asking if they had any current or upcoming promotions. A few years back I got tires at Neal for another vehicle and I was able to get 1 tire free with the purchase of 3. I never received a reply to the email. I decided to call them several days later after no reply to my email. They confirmed they did not have any deals or upcoming promotions. I selected the cheaper of the two quotes. It was a tire I liked better and it had a greater life expectancy, not to mention it was cheaper. I scheduled my service for the following Monday. Monday morning arrived and I dropped my vehicle off when they opened. I used their shuttle service to get to work and it went smooth. The shuttle pickup came to get me when the tires were done and it also went smooth using the shuttle to get back to the shop. They handed my me keys when I arrived and said they would check me out. The worker said he was having computer issues. They asked if I didn't mind waiting. I explained I could wait for a little bit but I needed to pick a child up from daycare before 4:45. The wait grew longer and the two workers were stating the computer inventory was off and it was preventing them from checking me out. One of the workers said he would call me when they sorted it out. I left to go get into my car. I arrived at my vehicle and noticed they put the incorrect tires on my vehicle. The tires they put on were more expensive but had a shorter life expectancy according to what they told me at quote time. I went back and told them. They were both upset when they realized the error. One of the workers admitted it was his mistake but I never received an apology. In fact, they asked what I had going on later in the week and mentioned putting my old tires back on before I left. It appeared neither of them wanted to address the situation and they began helping other customers. I went to one of them and said I would keep the incorrect tires if they could honor the quote price they agreed too which was about $80 less. With the bill being over 1k, $80 is really not much, especially when you think of the duplication of work the workers would have to do if I asked them to correct the issue by putting the right tires on!!! The worker said he would have to talk to someone and my wait in the lobby grew longer. Finally the other guy comes back and begins typing on the keyboard but doesn't say a word to me. I walked up to him and explained I would keep the tires for the agreed upon price. He said they would agree to that even though it would mess up his inventory! Wow! Still no apology! I just wanted to pay and get out of there at this point. Poor customer service experience. I kept my calm and tried to be very understandable with the situation. Very surprised that there was no apology. I paid the bill and left. Based on this experience, I will not be back to this location! Everyone makes mistakes. I understand that. I was most disappointed with how they communicated with me after the mistake was discovered. read more

i woke to flat tire at 8 am Saturday. Called and explained my flat tire to a gentleman who said they were busy but if I got there quickly he could help. I drove the flat to gas station to get a bit or air and then right to shop. When I got there two very rude men said I did not speak to anyone there essentially calling me a liar and then stated they were too busy to help! I've been to Neal Tire a few times and the employees there are top notch. I don't leave reviews often, but my experience with Neal Tire absolutely compelled me to do so. I dropped my truck off yesterday for an alignment and let them know that I wasn't in any hurry and they could take until the end of the day if they wanted; they called me less than an hour later to let me know it was done. Also had them give me a quote for replacing my front two tires (that were worn due to me not getting an alignment when I should have; completely my own fault) and their prices were incredible, much to my surprise. They also fixed my leaking spare tire free of charge. I do 99% of my own vehicle work, but for the specialty stuff I either can't, or don't want to do, I trust Neal Tire 100%. I created a Yelp account just to give a shout out to Neal Tire and Auto Service. This was first time needing work done on my car since moving to Bloomington in September of 2014. Like most people on went on Yelp and saw Neal had a 5 star rating. While I was skeptical at first, it was near my house so I knew I had to go. I was not disappointed. I was utterly impressed! I needed a tire rotation and there was some.metal hanging off the undercarriage of my 2000 Ford Focus. I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment and was helped immediately by Deandre. They took my car back and with in 10 minutes the work was done and I was on my way. Every one was extremely nice and I was even offered a ride if I had needed to be some where while the work was being done. The best part was the whole trip cost me $0. The rotation and reattaching of the metal was completely free. I am so happy that I decided to trust the Yelp hype and go to Neal Tire and Auto Service. Scheduled an appointment to get new tires, an oil change, etc for Friday morning, 8/5. Talked to Neal a few times before 8/5. Agreed to leave it there before work and pick up at Noon. Showed up at 11:45, my vehicle hadn't moved, no work had been completed. Went inside, they said I was "next up" but said it would be 15min before I got in, and 90min for the work to be done. I understand things happen, as they do at all jobs, but there was no phone call to me to make me aware nor even an apology offered. Very helpful when I needed new tires on my Audi and my Pilot. Cost seemed high. 2000 total. Wanted the same tires that came on my Audi new. That didn't end up getting done. They picked my tires. I didn't even argue about it. Here's where things went really south. A few months later I had a boat trailer tire I noticed was bald. I had a spare and needed it put on. Called up to Neal was told they could do it in 4 days. Like really. It would take 2 minutes. I asked how long it would take he said well we'd have to jack it up probably 20 minutes. I didn't argue. I drove my boat trailer right up to main st tire over on Clinton Ave. Guy comes out changes my tire in 2 minutes doesn't charge me. I ordered a new trailer tire from him. Want a break job done on my Audi. Tell him no cheap pads. He says no good pads 250 for the breaks. Like damn Lol m sitting here at Neal because I got a nail in my tire. Didn't want the road hazard. Figured I call and ask if I had it. Yes you do sir. Well great I didn't want it but I have it. Seems about right. read more

I have had two tire rotations at Neal Tire in the past. The staff seem very friendly and very helpful. With this store being a tire service store, I expect things like proper tire pressure and tps sensors relearned. The first time I brought my vehicle to this store I didn't see that they hadn't relearned my sensors till I was long gone. I purchased a meter from Amazon so I could relearn the sensors myself. Thinking this was a fluke, on my next tire rotation about a year later. I asked as the technician brought out the truck if he reset the pressure and tps sensors. He said he did. I checked out, and started to drive away when I realized my tire, on screen display was turned off. So I went back, and they brought the vehicle back into the shop. They promptly brought the vehicle back out, and said it was just turned off in the settings. I went to drive away again, and noticed my tire pressure was all wrong. It showed 73 PSI in each front tires and 68 PSI in each back. I should have 60 PSI front and 70 PSI rear. So I got out to lower the tire pressure in the front and notice the display dropping pressure in the rear. They had not relearned the sensors. How can I be sure "anything" was done correctly at this point? My lug nuts may not be torqued correctly, or even tight? I understand this is a free service. All the tire companies offer this deal now. This should not be a service to show your customers how many times you can fail or that you can not be trusted. I will not return, and recommend anyone else to find a reliable store, or pay to have it done. I would be happy to pay to have this service done correctly and reliably. read more

My wife went here to have her flat tire fixed (there was an object in her tire in the tread region). According to them they could not patch it because the tread depth was "dangerously" low. They threatened to not let her drive it away even after repair because the other tires were also "dangerously" low. The funny thing is we had it serviced by a Ford dealership a month ago and got the green indicator for tire tread, over 7mm in depth. I am not sure how in one month it went from "good to go" by a certified Ford technician to "dangerously low" by Neal tire. So of course we had to buy a new tire. Very frustrating! read more

Every time I go the service is superb especially the driver he's the most calm guy you will ever meet in life. Very warming. But I actually saw an employee arguing with a customer which was quite disturbing. Whatever happen to the customer is always right or at least trying to find a resolution. We brought our car in for a brake job and when we picked it up we had steering issues we didn't have before. We had to take it back twice before the problem was resolved. Neal's gets the 5 stars because they were very friendly and they spent time trying to fix the issue. With all the potholes out there right now they could have accused us of hitting some potholes and causing the problem too, but they didn't . They worked hard to resolve the issue to our satisfaction and actually went beyond what they had too. We definitely recommend them!! read more

Had a very horrible experience with this store. I went to change my timing belt per the maintenance schedule of my Honda accord. My car never had any noise coming out while driving before that. After they replaced the timing belt, the car started weird noise. Not only that in less than 30 days, i got the check engine light and i found out that transmission broke. I rebuilt the transmission, this time with a different and more reliable mechanic. His analysis was, most likely while replacing the timing belt, Neal auto tire company didnt handle the transmission assembly properly as a result, either the transmission fluid might have got flushed out or something else happened that caused the transmission to break. I highly recommend the other customers to not visit this location specifically. Its a total rip off and absolute cheating to make you come back to them again and again. read more
