I called this company 2 weeks ago & I was told I likely have service the next day based on where I live. I called last week & was told they couldn't send trucks out because of the weather. It is now 2 weeks & still nobody has been @ my house despite the nice weather & that apparently they service my town frequently. Ned Stevens Gutters used to be a great service. Not any longer. Their policy has changed. They are a very busy place and call you when they come. You say OK. If you say no, they can't say when they would be back. So happens it is prior to about half the leaves falling. It used to be that their 30 day warranty would cover this and they would gladly redo, without any question or attitude. Now this 30 day "warranty" only covers "new debris". My landscaper is smart enough to come and do a fall clean-up after the leaves fall. Ned Stevens is not that smart. They now even have their recording say ".... we can't control the weather or when the leaves fall". Yes that is true, but you can be AWARE of when they fall, as that is your job. They call and remind to clean gutters in Spring and Fall which can be a pain. Recently had them clean the gutters, I happened to be onsite, which was a good thing as I could easily validate the work and all went well. What I don't care for is that fact that others have mentioned, they will say, it will be the week of xyz, with no specific dates. They charged about 100$ for my house about 120 feet total of gutters on two sides of the house. One side is real high, so they can climb up there. read more

They have become ridiculously overpriced. In November they came to clean my gutters and they did not close the gate and my dog went missing for several hours. I call to complain and in a months time a manager has still not called me. They just called again for payment and I asked why hasn't someone called to address my concerns. They came out to clean my gutters early in September, in the end of October I noticed during one of the rainstorms that I had water overflowing my gutters I totally forgot that they had cleaned my gutters in September so I used another company and they charged me $113 to clean the gutters where Ned Stevens charged me 187. They called me two days after the service to tell me that it was going to be $2000 to replace my gutters because they were not angled correctly. First of all that price is ridiculously expensive for the replacement of all my gutters, second of all it's not needed. I cancelled my gutter cleaning a day before scheduled as there was still ice and snow on the roof and I wanted to be home on the day the work was to be done. I was told my $54 deposit would not be refunded or applied to a future gutter cleaning. They said simply, you loose your $54 and change. I was going to wait until spring time or after July 4th when my neighbor finishes his fireworks display mess to have this work done. This is not good business policy and it certainly will not build good will and a customer base for Ned Stevens. Not only did they get me after a Tropical storm hit and ruined my gutters and siding, but they were prompt and diligent and went that extra step in making sure all my gutters were thoroughly cleaned out and that everything was back to working properly. I was so impressed. I called and they were able to come out the next day. They do charge an emergency service fee , it was worth the price. The men were thorough , polite, and extremely efficient. They took out every leaf and clog and ran the water through finding the source of my interior water damage. I was able to find out the source was not the gutters but the roof. They recommended us a company. Since then I have used them for repairs, power washing, & window cleaning. So glad I found this company, they certainly have become my go to. read more

I called them about two weeks ago to clean my gutters. They said it was the busy season so they couldn't give me an exact date on when they would come, but would be out in a week or two. Called them yesterday and they said that they didn't have other calls near my area, and that's why they haven't come around. I asked them for an estimate on when they would come and they said they don't know - could be two weeks, or more! I understand it's the busy season, but what kind of service basically tells you, "we'll get to you when we get to you." I asked the lady on the phone to cancel the job, and she asked me, "Why?". When I told her the (obvious) reason, she gave me attitude (as though I was being unreasonable), told me to have a nice day, and hung up. Awful service! read more

You could charge double for your services and we would still pay them for good, reliable communication and service. The heart of the matter is that your manager accused us of lying and that was extremely upsetting. You made mistakes that you could not own up to. It is NOT about the money. You do not deserve what you have based on how you treat people. Don't make up stories. ---- full story below. Shame on them! I had prepaid for a service in February. They came unannounced in June, after I had requested that they notify me on approximately what week they would come. I have kids and I do NOT like to have strangers on my property without knowledge of who they are. I had brand new gutters and roof done on the house a mere week before they came to "service" my gutters. Any honest company would see that there was nothing to clean because the gutters was brand new. Now weeks later, they claim that they did the "work". Mind you, I did not even receive a note or any notice letting me know that they came for a visit! It was only when I had noticed a duplicate charge on my credit card back in February that they said that this service was already done in June. What???? Any reputable company would have provided good customer service, owned up to the lack of communication, and attempt to make amends. I never asked for a refund, but some sort of amends for coming for a pointless "service" would have been the right thing to do. Listening to the customer would have been the right thing to do. When I asked to speak to a manager or an owner, Erika claimed that the owner is not involved at all, and that she is the only person. If this is truly the case, it's no wonder there are such negative reviews online about this company. There are always ways to provide good service when mis steps are taken. This company was unwilling to make any steps to provide good customer service. I am sure there are other companies willing to build long term, trust-worthy relationships with their clients. Ned Stevens was just here to power wash the exterior of our home, and do all of our windows. They did an outstanding job, and our front steps, as well as our whole home, looks like new. They've also been cleaning our gutters for years, and we have always been pleased with the job they do. Biggest mistake I've made was not listening to the reviews of these guys. After 3 visits the clogged gutter that prompted my call to them is still clogged. I even sent them a video of the gutter overflowing and that didn't get them to clean it properly. Do not make the same mistake. Do not hire them. read more

I did have another gutter company come and confirm it was needed and pricer us out. Ned Stevens was honest about the repair and the price was very competitive and fair. They recently replaced a front gutter. The work was not done in a professional manner. When the old gutter was removed the crew unnecessarily damaged several roof shingles. Overlay shingles were broken and sloppy repairs were made. The first row of roof shingles were broken and not replaced. The roof gutter had aluminum gutter guards in good condition that were carelessly ripped out and thrown way. Whether the crew was inexperienced or in a great rush, the fact is they did a terrible job. Will not be doing business again with this company. BEWARE! read more

First of all, it took them weeks to come to clean my gutters because they don't send a crew unless they have other work in the area. So, surprise they show up when I'm not at home. The original deal was my 2nd story gutters were clogged, everything else is screened. They wanted $85 for just the second story, but $285 for the first and second floors. So I told them to do the second floor. I get home only find dirt,debris and leaves everywhere. Then on my voice mail, someone from Ned Stephens leaves a message saying they won't be doing partials anymore, I'll need the entire house done. Oh, and because of the screens, there's an extra $15 on the invoice. Horrible, horrible way to do business. I will be calling to complain to Ned Stephens and will also leave a complaint with the County Office of Consumer affairs. You can find cheaper, cleaner gutter cleaners who will be happy to have the business. read more

The price was close to other quotes we recd. They were out to do the job fast & the job, so far, has been fine. The bad review is b/c we asked for gutter guards & they said they don't carry/install them. They don't believe in them & that in fact the guards can cause bad things to happen (yada,yada,yada). So they installed just the gutters/down spouts. Not they hound my inbox with gutter CLEANING emails! Sooooo annoying! Not wonder why they don't install guards, they want to come back for another job. Most recent experience was horrible. Left my gate open and our dog wandered out. Fortunately he made his way home but this shouldn't have happened, how do they leave and leave a fence open. Then i looked at the bill they left to find a number to call them and there was recommended work replacing gutters and leaders amounting to close to $1000, but my gutters are only 2yrs old. Do they really think they all need to be replaced or are they just looking to run up a bill? The response was....uh, sorry I'll tell the manager to talk to them. After over 5 years of using the service. This year they show up at my house 2 months late(bad weather, no their fault) BUT they say "the foreman is outside and your house is $50 more than usual" WHAT?! You couldn't have told us that 2 months ago. At the time we HAD to get the gutters cleaned so we agreed, only to call and complain later. I had the same problem other reviewers had, I could not get a date for cleaning. They just told me they would show up sometime in June. I had little trees growing in my gutters, which I told them, so on June 26 figuring they weren't coming I had another co clean the gutters. They showed up on 7/3 and left me a bill for cleaning my already thoroughly clean gutters! They told me they don't look to see if there is debris in the gutter! That's great! Now they expect me to pay for an unnecessary job done later than promised. Update: In reading other reviews I see that the co that did clean the gutters must have been accurate when he said it looked like my gutters had not been flushed in a while. I had been using Ned Stevens for at least a year by then. Apparently they weren't doing the job properly. Also now they are calling me and sending me threatening letters for the unearned $113. They are going to charge interest so I'll likely have to pay to avoid that. read more

Scammed my 80 year old father this past spring. May have been doing that for years but we will never know. Came out in the spring to clean the gutters and only when we had our independent contractor inspect the gutters afterwards did we discover that nothing was cleaned and there was a ton of debris. While they sent someone out to clean again, they used the excuse that the gutters now need to be cleaned twice in the spring and once in the fall and it was not the fault of their workmen. It is clear when they sent someone out they did not do the job right the first time. When I asked them to credit my father for not doing the right job when we caught them and having us question their integrity, they offered no credit and 10% off the next future cleaning. 9 years my dad was a customer. Wish we had caught this sooner. Whomever owns this company should know that your customer service people (Lena) knows nothing about customer loyalty and retention. Buyer beware. read more

used them for the past two years, this year was very different, they were to come at a certain time, and after a few phone calls, they told me they never set the date, and we had to keep water on for them to use, turn it off after days went by without anyone showing up, the few times we called we dealt with some pleasant customer support, however, the last lady i spoke to was rather the opposite, we ended up doing it ourselves, and saved $$$, but i recommended them in the last, never again, will be looking next year for another company, can't wait till they call next spring...be very wary... read more

If I could give this company 0 stars on here, I would, because this company either does not do their job, or does not know how to do their job!!!! They are the absolute worst. Either way is unacceptable. We always had our gutters cleaned by Ned Stevens, and there never seemed to be an issue. Occasionally here and there they wold overflow slightly with heavy rain, but that can be expected. Yesterday we had massive rain, and the top level gutters of my house backed up and overflowed so much that the water hit the ground so hard it wiped away all of my mulch in the spot it was overflowing in, and from here it flooded my ENTIRE basement!!! I called Ned Stevens, and the woman was completely unaccommodating on the phone. We just had our gutters cleaned at the very end of May, and she told me that I should have had them done again in June because that's when they recommended it. Thats complete bull! I had two other gutter companies come to the house and inspect my gutters yesterday and they both said that it looks like my top gutters haven't been cleaned in a year because there were CHUNKS and chunks of brown leafs in there which must have been from the fall!!! When I insinuated this on the phone to the woman at Ned Stevens, she told me that it must have been pollen that clogged my gutters...what an outrage!!!! She then told me there was nothing she can do to help me, not an offer to have someone come and clean the gutters or anything!!! Worst customer service!! Also, she told me that the "guys" who came to clean the gutters in may were here for a half hour, when the other two gutter companies told me it would take at least a full hour to properly clean the gutters of my house! Ned Stevens is the absolute worst, and it is so apparent that they cut corners!!!!
