I've been to Neighbors & Friends a handful of times for a charcuterie board and have always enjoyed them. Those past positive experiences, a kind staff and well cultivated environment is why this is not a 2 star review. Tuna melt 1/5 I'll start with saying it was fresh off the press so I'm unsure how it became so wet so quickly. The bread was floppy and sad, the best part of a tuna melt is the satisfaction of biting into crunchy bread and enjoying its contrast with the tuna. For $15 I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Charcuterie board 5/5 Maybe I'll come back for this again... after this past lunch, maybe not. Not to mention my order was made incorrectly, even after confirming at the pick up area if the sandwich was indeed mine. My wife and I visited right at their opening hours on a weekend and it was such a good experience. It's more of a order then sit down type spot. They have some tables but not too many. Parking here in Pasadena is as usual, mainly just parking in paid garages, metered street parking. My wife and I ordered the Deviled egg stuffed croissant and the Roasted Chick Sandwich to share and the orders came out pretty quickly. There's not much service other than that, staff is friendly which is great to see at least. The croissant is very tasty. However, it's pretty messy to eat as you can't really eat it neatly. This is such a great spot in old town for delicious sandwiches, coffee and beautiful cheese boards. We tried their brisket breakfast sandwich, caprese and fat piggy and they were all amazing - crisp bread, fresh ingredients and filling. The Vietnamese coffee, cafe de olla and cappuccino all hit the spot as well. It's a small unassuming storefront but there is lots of seating inside. Always trying to find new places to start my morning. We dropped by at opening for breakfast. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming when we arrived. As the morning went on, it became a bit lively and fun. I can see N&F being a nice stop between my normal hustle and bustle. We got 3 items, two breakfast and one lunch. For breakfast we split a Deviled Egg Croissant and Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sammie. Croissant was great, I'm going to have to grab those to go next time. Sammie was piping hot and had a good balance of flavors. Eggs were fluffy and seasoned in a way I've wanted to cook, but always failed. The Grump was super fresh and vibrant. Funny, I wasn't planning on coming here but we were in the area and the neighbors and friend instagramming had gotten my attention so I booked marked them. As it turns out they were very close to some Korean shaved ice we came over to get. Shaved ice store didn't open for another hour so we decided to grab lunch. When we walked up there was a table set up outside and people asked us if we wanted free coffee and pastries. Um heck yeah! So we got those in addition to sandwiches. These guys are super nice! Simply delicious! When we first looked at the menu, the sandwiches sounded very simple but when we actually tasted it, the flavors were surprisingly very complex and delicious. We tried the Deviled egg croissant sandwich, Grilled cheese with pear and caramelized onion, and the Roasted chick sandwich. The croissant was delicious and the way the egg salad was placed in the croissant allowed you to fully enjoy the croissant without it getting soggy. The flavors in the other 2 sandwiches were spot on, with the right balance of sweet and savory. We really enjoyed all 3 sandwiches. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. They even gave us a free sample of their Figgy Piggy breakfast Sammie which was also very tasty. There were ample seats available when we got there around 11:30 on a Sunday morning. Was able to stop by again right before they closed at 3pm! I got the individual size box and it was enough for myself for lunch on the go! So beautifully designed - they got it down to a science now! The box contained a good variety of cheese (4 total) and fruit (strawberry, orange which was so sweet!, blueberries, blackberries, kiwi, dried apricot), pistachios, mini pickles, a little bit of honeycomb and olives. I don't usually like olives but I liked these ones! They're green and have a bite to them. Crackers is an additional cost depending which one you pick so total price for my box with tip was around $30. I left this in the fridge to enjoy the next day out and it traveled pretty well! Looking forward to coming back and trying more items here. They also have an LA Community Fridge for those in need and various local brand goodies to purchase too. I stopped in the day of my sister's birthday to grab a charcuterie box for our Erykah Badu concert celebration, and she could not have been more helpful. The honey was next-level, and she put me onto Profanity Habanero Jam, which I am still obsessed with. The turkey club was nice, again it's a deli sandwich with deli meat; it did have a decent amount of avocado so I appreciated that. The first time I went the service was friendly and outgoing. The second time I went they were cold and rude, it was like my being there was inconveniencing them. There was an option of just cheese vs. cheese with deli meats. It honestly had amazing toppings for a charcuterie board which included a variety of fruits, cheeses, honeycomb, and pickles.
