Visited this place for an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting and it was so fun!! My aunt has been wanting to try this place for a while so it was a fun afternoon activity. For the tasting we had an option of three tastings which could be any combination of olive oil and/or balsamic vinegar. Feeling overwhelmed by the choices, the worker was extremely helpful in recommending combinations. One of my favorite combos was the blackberry balsamic vinegar and basil olive oil! The bread served with it was hot and had the perfect outer crisp. We saw many others enjoying a full meal there with wine and I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised with this small find. It's a small shop but beautiful. We were seated outside and although it was cold I loved the setting. It felt very homey as if you were in your own backyard chilling with friends. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable about the food we were getting. She explained everything on cheese and charcuterie. She explained to us what the items were as well as where they came from. The burrata and spicy honey flatbread was so good. I didn't taste the spicy as much but delicious nonetheless. It didn't look like much especially since there were 3 of us but i was filled a good amount. I hosted a retirement party for a close friend on the private patio at We Olive, and it was an unforgettable experience. Everything was perfect for our group of 15-the ambiance (bougainvillea, comfortable seating, party lights) was perfect for our event. The staff anticipated our every need--delectable food, wine, water, eating utensils, cake cutting, and even taking photographs. The salads, flatbreads, and caprese sandwiches were a hit. Everyone in our group commented on what a great venue it was, with convenient parking just across the alley. We Olive even gave the guest of honor her choice of gourmet olive oils. Celebrating family's birthday, on this special night out! I've always seen We Olive in passing and was always interested in stopping by. It's a nice quaint spot with a literal olive oil Bar and a nice dimly lit back patio for dining. Our server was very informative, kind and attentive to our tables needs. As for the food we ordered their charcuterie board, meatballs, hummus platter, baked Brie and Flatbread. This also came with a complimentary olive oil sampler which was extremely rich and deep in variety. I didn't know olive oil could be so diverse. Walked in on a Friday night after being turned away from another wine bar near by in which our large group wouldnt be able to be accommodated. We sure were grateful that We Olive not only welcomed us, but were so kind and accommodating. It was all of our first time there and little to say, it won't be the last. The staff was friendly and also helpful. There was a check in discount which was awesome and some tasty wines. They also happen to have a happy hour! We ordered some olive oil tasting for us and we had a lot of it left over after we finished the bread. We did ask for another side of bread but didn't know they were charging us or how much it would be for extra bread until after we paid. I wish they would have mentioned it up front, figure it would be extra but a nice curtesy "it's going to be an extra $3 for extra bread" would have been nice. No biggie though, in the end the olive oil fully enjoyed. Totally would come back for more! Friend had her birthday party here. There was a whole bunch of us and we reserved the outdoor patio that is near the School House Parking side. Apparently you can reserve the space if you can meet a minimum spend. The servers are really sweet and very accommodating in helping us set up. Also they were here all the time serving water and bringing us the wine. We ordered a quite a few bottles of wine. The Ganache is really yummy. And their flat bread is also very good. They also allowed us to bring in some outside food since we reserved the place and we brought in some finger food. We also taste their various samples of olive oil. Very yummy too. I came here for the dineLA deal that included a glass of wine, a snack, and a food item from a selected menu. I chose the stuffed peppadews and the Burrata and spicy honey flatbread. I chose the house white wine because I wasn't aware the stuffed peppadews came with salami, but it still paired pretty well with everything. The food seemed a little uninspired, but nothing tasted bad. If I return I would definitely like to try a nicer wine, because even though the house wine was drinkable, I found it a bit lacking. However, the dineLA price was very fair for the location and amount of food. On the night I visited, there wasn't much engagement from the person working the cash register or the server who later brought me my food, but I chalked it up to it being towards the end of the day and the place looking like more of a shop than an eatery, but if I return I'd like the service to be a little more friendly. The service here is amazing, the ambiance is exceptional, their wine list is endless and the olive oil here is the best I've ever had, even better than the ones I've had in Europe! From the outside it looks like a small olive oil shop but it's also a wine tasting spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating but I like seating outside because it looks like a vineyard even though you're in the city. The menu for the wine options is decent (I always opt for the Napa Valley wines or wines from Sonoma) and the bites on the menu are really what takes this place to the next level. I've had the bruschetta, it's freshly made and so light. It pairs well with their bread. But have to say my favorite is the cheese plates. You get a bit of everything -peppers, walnuts, crackers, fig jam, cheese, french baguette, and olive oil! The olive oil is extra virgin and it smells and and tastes fresh. Olive oil is only as good as what you pair it with but they have the lightest and fluffiest bread- the combo is amazing. It can't get better than that. I'd recommend pairing the bread with the olive oil and then pairing the cheese and crackers with a pepper on top or topping it off with the fig jam. I'm dreaming of the next time I come back! I'd come on Wine Wednesday- their 6 oz. glass of wines are half off! It doesn't get any better than that. read more

An adorable little concept - we parked right in front of this shop for a little trip to Pasadena and stopped here before we left. I thought it was just a vinegar/olive oil shop but they have a cute wine bar as well where you can order wine and get bread/olive oil/vinegar taster meal kind of things. Genius idea! We weren't able to stay for long, so we just wanted to sample some of the olive oils and vinegars. I was hoping for a sweet/spicy variety like I'd tried a few years ago at a similar shop, but they didn't have any. We did end up picking up a small fruity vinegar which we've used a few times with some bread at home. The woman who helped us was very friendly and courteous. Our book club went to We Olive last Wednesday. I had emailed corporate several days ago as I had a question as to if this We Olive was a franchise and owned and operated privately, or, if corporate managed it. Since it is a small chain, that info would have been helpful! There were 10 of us and the place was not busy. At first there was one gal serving and then another arrived. We were given water and our drinks and that's pretty much when the service stopped. Since the menu consists of mainly appetizers, easy to make, it should have been simple to get the orders out, mostly flat breads with toppings. Two orders came out, and then nothing for 20 minutes. I saw a woman behind a counter speaking with one of our servers so I approached them and told them that we had been waiting some time for the rest of the food to be delivered. Her response was, thank you for letting me know, then, nothing. She stayed behind the counter talking to the server while a man, who I can only assume was her co-manger, tried to check on the situation. After another 10 minutes, another member of our group went over to the woman/owner/manger? and told her again that we were still short two orders. The woman continued to stay behind the counter talking while the man went into the kitchen. From where I was sitting, I could see one guy in the kitchen moving at a glacial pace, perhaps he hadn't a clue as to what to do as the flatbreads were unimpressive and took forever. The man that seemed to be trying to get things moving offered the table a complimentary flat bread, even tho, two orders were still out. It should not take 45 minutes to get out a few flat breads and 2 other items! I do not know the role of the woman behind the counter talking, but what I do know is, when you get customers coming up and telling you there is a problem....perhaps do something, get in the kitchen. You have two servers who were not on top of things and a guy in the kitchen that seemed inept, and the two people who own/operate or whatever doing little to fix the situation. There were 10 of us, we won't be back! Just a P.S. I bought 2 oils and a vinegar as gifts. Irvin wrapped them individually in black paper and then placed them in a non descript brown paper bag. Really? These are to be gifts and no way would I give a brown paper bag. I realize that a fancy bag costs money, but you could at least get a fifty cent logo sticker for the bag. You missed a marketing chance by not having your name/logo on the bag, which would have been seen and probably reused. read more

I was crushed when they told me they were OUT of OLIVES. Wait, what? You are the We *Olive* and wine bar. Got the hummus, which was nothing special but fine. The pesto pizza was on the dry side. The wine was ok but not phenomenal. Service - 1 star. After being seated on the patio I think staff forgot about me. When they finally brought my food, they didn't give me utensils or a napkin. This is one of those places where you would think they are too good for you, but that was not the case!! The woman who helped my husband and i was SO happy and welcoming. She answered my questions and let me sample a few of their products. The balsamic i had (white pear) was so delicious (thats the kind you could put on ice cream) that i got some! I wanted to get a small bottle flight but i wasnt able to at that moment. The place is very cool and rustic-vineyard looking. They have olive oils and vinegas and salts too! They sell charcuterie which is why we were there and the bread they gave us soft and fresh and hot and garlicky!! I ate it all by myself! They also have like a little bar area where i think you can eat and sip indoors. I would love to do that sometime because it was just a nice happy place to be! This place is kind of a half wine bar half olive oil store. We started by tasting some of the many olive oils and vinegar and the lady guiding us was super helpful. The peach olive oil, raspberry and Sriracha were probably our favorites. Then we had some mimosas with some of our favorite olive oil/vinegar flavors placed in. So after a slightly rocky start, we went again - the food and wine were excellent as before, but the service really really improved since the last time. I can highly recommend this place to go for a good time. If you with friends, make sure you try "family style" - order loads of munchies - the four of us shared the charcuterie board (the salami was among the best I ever had), the flatbreads, the baked brie - and a sample plate of their delicious oils - so so so good - and given the superb quality, reasonably priced. After the shutdown, Pasadena was one of the few places that (used to) still have outdoor dining. We were a bit concerned when we realized that this is primarily an olive oil shop and so some sketchy tables on the front sidewalk, but it turns out that they have a charming a cozy back patio that is private, heated, and utterly enjoyable. The food selections were mostly tapas style, but we enjoyed the BBQ flatbread, dips, and salad that were all well prepared. An attractive feature is that all of their wines are available by bottle for $7 over retail and most can be tasted. Their selection is eclectic and well curated, and along with the setting is well worth the price of admission. The only snag was that they charged for a "taste" of the wine, which customarily is free if you buy a bottle, but we took care of that. Altogether a lovely and relaxing experience that belied its hectic Colorado Blvd location. Looking forward to lifting the outdoor dining restriction so that we can return. read more

And, discovered Pear balsamic and Sweet Ancho Chili Vinegar that's going to be AHHHMAZING in a slaw and bbq ... Staff was so welcoming and offered tasting of vinegars i was interested in.
