    OG Grilled Cheese
    Liana M.

This is such an unassuming spot in DTLA. But honestly, it has one of the best tasting grilled cheese I've ever had in my life. I'm so glad I ordered the OG Grilled Cheese. It's basically a 4 cheese sandwich because it contains 3 cheddar cheeses and mozzarella. If you love cheese, you will fall in love with this grilled cheese. It's gooey and savory, the bread is crunchy, and it even has crispy cheese edges from where the cheese hit the grill surface. Good God, my mouth is watering just writing this. It also comes with a brown mustard and pickles, which really uplevel the whole thing. I also tried their lemonade, which was fabulous. They have a few fresh squeezed juices. There are also a few packaged items, cheeses, bread, and produce. And you can order charcuterie as well. There are only a few tables inside and outside, but the ambiance is pleasant enough. Otherwise you can take your stuff to go and have a nice picnic somewhere. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed when I went on a weekend. But damn, amazing sandwiches.

Sooo incredibly happy I finally got to stop by DTLA Cheese Superette! I was a huge fan of their stall at the Grand Central Market and am relieved they opened up a much bigger brick and mortar. There's a few tables inside and seats along the wall, so this is the perfect spot for a lunchtime treat. Upon entering, you pass by the cheese display to your right and the pantry wall to your left. Their pantry items look amazing and offer some really cool imported products. The cheese display is reminiscent of what they had at GCM! You can order your freshly cut cheese there. If you keep walking, you'll get to the counter area where you can order from their fresh prepared menu, or their grab and go sandwiches. There also a fridge near the front that houses cold drinks! I ordered a grab n go baguette sandwich and a carrot/cauliflower soup. My sandwich was divine - excellent bread, meat, and cheese. I believe I paid $14 and for a hefty amount of sandwich for that price. I was very full after finishing my meal. The service is friendly but there aren't too many people behind the counter, so a little patience was required. It was well worth it! I'll be back ASAP since they are located down the street from my office. Come by for lunch!

Cute little spot, very casual and wholesome. Food is really yummy, I went with a friend and we split a sandwich and soup which was perfect. It's self service (order at the register and then sit/wait for your food) and they offer a bunch of pantry items that also make cute gifts.

Ambiance: the cheese shop recently moved from grand central market to this new location, dine in tables available Service: very friendly and patient with questions Food: simple menu for freshly made sandwiches, and there are ready to go sandwiches as well Ham Melt - **** grilled cheese with ham and caramelized onions on brioche, served with pickles and mustard, OG grilled cheese with ham, rich in flavors, recommend Price: decent portions and reasonable prices, about $15~$20 for lunch

The Vibe of DTLA. Not for everyone but certainly unique.... Fast paced, dynamic, energized.... Walkaround Downtown LA with me. Looking for a bite to eat? Try DTLA Cheese Superette! We had a Ham Melt and an OG Grilled Cheese washed down with Royal Crowns. Definitely took the edge off and powered the rest of our afternoon walk. Socal Weekend Walkarounds recommends DTLA Cheese Superette. Check them out when in town. Used to be housed at the Grand Central Market and moved to its new location (just a few steps away actually)... Socal Weekend Walkarounds definitely recommends! This is the place to go if you're feeling cheesy. Really though you want a great sandwich and soup this is the place to go in DTLA. The BLT is maybe the best sandwich I've had here. Can't forget the pickled veggies that come with the sandwich great pairing. The tomato soup is always on point. There are seasonal soups as well to choose from. Never had a salad maybe one day. There are pre made sandwiches to choose from as well. Last but not least the mac and cheese is great not gooey but cheesy. Menu has sandwiches, soups and salads. Pretty simple. Service is always great whether you're picking up or dining in. There is also a deli if you would like to take some cheese or meat home and an assortment of other items from the market section. Check out the superette if in the area on the corner of 4th and Broadway. Cool tunes playing plenty of seats if it's not busy. If you're looking to get away from the hustle n bustle of GCM come eat here.

The food is great, the ambiance is wonderful, and the service is impeccable! I was with someone having a blood sugar crash and the staff (Lydia) acted quickly to make sure she didn't pass out. So shout out to Lydia for being super helpful in every single way and basically saving a life! I will definitely be back to support this spot in the future and I hope others check it out. Also, who doesn't love cheese and beer?

I came to grand central market for a quick work lunch and this place is pretty good. The best part of the grilled cheese was the crispy part of it. Really delicious! Otherwise, it was your pretty basic fare. Service was polite and fairly quick. Prices are about on par for other items at the grand central market ($13). Would I come all the way here for this, no. But if you want a grilled cheese or other deli sandwich and are in the area, definitely worth a try.

If you put "cheese" on your name, then they better be good, right? Well, DTLA CHEESE cheese was excellent! The variety is great, not just in flavors, type, and kinds, but in sources too. Their MAC N CHEESE is ooey gooey cheesy. Their GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH came with a pickle and mustard on the side and was amazing.

Wish I lived closer so I could come more often! Such a cute spot. Food is thoughtfully made and delicious, owners are very friendly and fun items to look at while shopping. The service is always fast and helpful staff. Will come back forever

I ordered a meat and cheese tray for a large dinner party from the catering menu. It was a very impressive presentation that was organized so that the meat was on either corner, and not mixing with some of the vegetarian options, such as the cheese, dried fruit and nuts. All of the cheeses selected were yummy! Definitely worth the price not only for the ingredients but for the expertise in putting it together.

Love me some sandwiches , soup, and cheese! The food here is so yummy! They used to be in the Grand Central market, but glad they moved here because this where I first tried their food! Service is great as well everyone is so kind and helpful. Love the vibe and the plants they have so cute!

The menu had many delicious options, and we ended up splitting a cinnamon roll, shrimp Louie salad, BLT, and Quiche Pot Pie. First, let's get into the interior. Superduper cute and has many options for seating, including a sidewalk patio, back patio, and interior dining room. We sat in the dining room and it was comfortable... next time I would probably sit outside for a different scenery. Service was great. I have no complaints about that! It was efficient. The guy was polite and was around when we needed him. The food was delicious, but I really didn't think it was that innovative and thought it was a little bit on the expensive side for what it was (except for the cinnamon roll it was priced accordingly and so good hot!). The BLT was very average and I thought the bacon seemed a little old, good fries, but again it's not anything special. I expected more with the quiche pot pie, but it was really delicious and the endive salad was a nice accompaniment. We really enjoyed the shrimp Louie salad--very fresh and appreciated it was not doused in dressing. I had the garden Siesta cocktail and my friend had one of the spritz-- as a lightweight it did not do anything to me hahaha... All in all a nice leisurely meal, but the flavors and execution was not super memorable for the price point. No h8 though--would go again!

For an additional cost, you can add meat: prosciutto, salami, Spanish chorizo, or half & half of any two. For paninis, everything I've tried was very good. The shop was so cute, it's small but with everything you'd need for a cheese and meat party including breads, canned additions/fish, and wines! I grabbed a fresh loaf of baguette to add to the order. Both trays were ready and absolutely fresh. The honorable cheesemongers overlooking shop were very nice and helpful! One female worker was providing samples for a gentleman when he asked for recommendations and my cheesemonger asked what kind of cheese texture I generally liked and offered to give me a cheese from three different animals, which I thought was absolutely awesome! She even offered to help me carry my trays out. The veggie tray was awesome, a great size, half pickled half not pickled, the dips were both amazing! We got the green goddess and Calabrian chili aioli and both were such a hit at our get together. The peppers are slightly spicy and were so delicious.
