Never have had a Seattle dog, so was cautious going into it, but boy was I glad I got it. The combo of cream cheese, jalapeños, and onions was so good, and decided to add bacon as well and it took it over the edge! The fries were phenomenal as well so overall a fantastic meal. What a nice little surprise in Greensboro! I've been wanting to try neighbors for a while now and so glad I got the chance a few weeks ago. I love that they are in downtown GSO but have their own parking lot - that's a huge plus right off the bat. Their space is small though, expect to stand if they're busy or try to get there early enough to snag a table outside. My friends and I ordered through the outside window which worked perfectly - you ring the bell to order and they text you when your order is ready. Their menu is also small but mighty. So many delicious, unique options to choose from and they have daily specials. Although I didn't get to try a cocktail (next time!) I thoroughly enjoyed my food. I got the bird dog on special that included sun dried tomatoes, balsamic drizzle, and fresh basil. And it's only $4. What a flavor bomb I tell ya. I also ordered the deviled eggs and they are everything I want in a deviled egg - pickled eggs and a creamy center. These may be the best deviled eggs I've ever ordered from anywhere. I also got the buffalo tenders and the chicken was cooked nicely, the buffalo sauce had a nice spice but not overwhelming, and they have the goooood ranch (iykyk). My entire meal was only $18. I did, however, have to take a piece of key lime pie home and omg so good! Do not skip dessert here! For me this summer could be labeled the summer of the hot dog, or alternately the summer of the burger - more on that in another review, a burger review, of course. As to the hot dogs, I ranged from the Raleigh area (Roast Grill, Char Grill, Snoopy's, Cloo's), Shorty's in Wake Forest, through Durham (Dog House, Kings, Jimmy's) on to the aways amazing Zack's in Burlington, will come back to Greensboro, on to Kernersville for Clark's BBQ and one of the Dairi-os, slide south to High Point (Oscar's, The Doghouse, & Tucker's Grill, and perhaps Little Roadside Grill, TBD). Then into God's hot dog country - Winston (Mr BBQ, Kermit's, Pulliam's, PB's, Joe's Take Out, and Hot Dog City) - WHEW! All of these are worth your consideration, now let's move on to this spot, perhaps a shinning light in what has been a hot dog waste land recently -Greensboro. This has not always been the case, of course. Yum Yum began operating in 1906, and is still offering hot dogs, ice cream, and Cheerwine. But the quality of the hot dog has decrease over the years - and I've eaten hot dogs here since the late 50's - opinions vary of course. There were several excellent hot dog spots in the Hamburger Square area of S. Elm, including California's and Jim's Lunch. Ham's had a great kraut dog, the American Legion Post on Saturdays, and Petty's out High Point Road had a great chili dog. These places are no more, and while there are some decent hot dogs around, there are NONE I would go to for just the dog except maybe Hinshaw UM Church on Tuesdays, until this place popped up recently! I went to try the dogs - chili and Chicago. I was not disappointed in the least, except for the neon colored relish on the Chicago, you should be ask to sign a waiver to have it included on anything you order or would consider ordering, or sitting at a space where it was ordered. read more

This was our first time checking out neighbors . We were in the area with a couple of friends looking to have a drink. Pulling up to Neigbors there is decent size parking lot directly in front of the place as well as other parking near the street. Walking up to go inside are outdoor seating areas by the front entrance. I felt like Neighbors had a good positive atmosphere. The layout of the colors also pop. Clean restrooms. The staff were prompt to attend and food order was quickly brought out. We went with a couple of shrimp rolls and an order of deviled eggs. The shrimp rolls were topped with fresh slaw and flavorful shrimp. The deviled eggs were also really good and looked cool with the pink color. I've visited twice and was impressed by all the vintage decor , the excellent bartenders and tasty food. I would give them a five rating if they offered the chop cheese sandwich everyday instead of one day a week. It's an awesome sandwich that is different in that it's ground beef with fixings on a nice sub roll and tastes like a really good hamburger. It's a small spot, but they also have outdoor seating. The bartender was nice enough. He helped me through the drink menu, and gave his opinion on the food options I was torn between. I ordered a Motor Daddy (bourbon cocktail), and crafted a hotdog. I added a side of fries as well. I loved it all. The fries reminds me of the old school McDonald's fries. This might be a first for me - updating a review for a single item - a sandwich. One of my top 5 sandwiches ever... Now let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, a person (me) walked into Neighbors. Besides the delightfully kitschy atmosphere, there was always a great vegetarian (ovo lacto) option. Time passed and the person (me) saw a post on the 'gram (as the kids probably don't say) which led the person (still me) to a preview of the winter menu. On that post was an Eggplant Parmigana sandwich. It was full of huge slices of eggplant, battered in Parmesan Cheese, and covered in cheese and sauce, on a bun. As a native New Yorker (Queens), this variation could have been offensive - but no. It looked very interesting. I (I mean the person) headed over to Neighbors (I literally walk out the back door of my house, make a left and it's about 2 1/2 blocks) and grabbed two of these. I didn't know what to expect when they handed me the bag of sandwiches and headed home. Sure I planned to eat them the next day, but I decided to take a bite of the first sandwich. Children, let me tell you, it was not like the traditional pizza joint eggplant parms. It had less sauce than the pizza joint parms (which led Neighbors to offering a side cup of sauce) but it was a perfect sandwich. 10/10. That huge sandwich was finished in one sitting, the second one was lunch the next day. I headed over a few nights later and people were raving about this sandwich-prompting one person to turn to their friend and ask if they've ever had an Eggplant Parm before... So what I am saying is, go get one - but if they're about to sell out - ask them to text me so I can run over and get one before they're sold out that night! I would share a picture but the sandwich never seems to sit still and always ends up in my belly before I can snap a photo. read more

Came for the food and stayed for the vibes!!!! I have been to Neighbors twice now, once for a pop up (with bandito burrito) and another time to try their actual food. Both times I went in the evening turned night, so I was able to get a feel for their dimly lit, smooth jam vibes. I am absolutely in love with their pink exterior, plant filled patio, and quirky, eclectic interior aesthetic. Where else can you double fist with a single drink order?!? I'll come for the porn star 2 for one drink any day! It was delicious and gave me a nice little buzz (I'm not a light weight!). I've also tried their "Dirt Don't Hurt" drink with matcha which I found to be on the bitter side yet still intriguing. I also tried my friend's "dad bod", which not sure how it got its name but I guess I love dad bods because it sure was delicious!!! For food I have tried their Seattle Dog and Chili Cheese Fries. Both were very good and the chili cheese fries were big enough for 2 of us to share as a side. The tasty homemade chili was giving meaty southern chili with a sliiight hint of cinci chili sweetness. I could even see this place being a speakeasy if they figured out a clever entrance, or maybe having people enter through the kitchen through a fake refrigerator door or something. There is a ton of variety on the drink menu, and I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted! Must mean that I'll have to come back. There was also a small insert in the menu for a special drink, the mall karate, and proceeds of it went to send one of their bartenders, ryan, to Portland for a competitive cocktail competition/convention. When we heard about that, we definitely wanted to help out and ordered the mall karate, which happened to sound delicious too. I would recommend that a small description about Ryan's trip be included, because at first without asking, we had no idea why there was a person named Ryan going to Portland lol. I am SO incredibly excited to write this review! Neighbors is just what downtown Greensboro needed! Located directly behind Joymongers (but has its own convenient parking lot off Simpson Street), Neighbors is a fun, eclectic (and gives off a Florida vibe) bar with a limited menu of hotdogs, brisket, and other traditional barbecue or cookout items. My friend and I have been dying to try this place and finally had a chance on a Wednesday evening. We stopped in about 6:30, and the crowd was light but steady. We each tried a few different cocktails and loved them all! The cocktails are elevated, original, yet fun spins on traditional drinks like a daiquiri or margarita. We tried the following drinks (love the names!) Pornstar Martini Dangerously Unskilled Dumb Starbucks (try it with regular tequila if Mezcal's not your jam) Yachts on the Reg Late Night Slices at Sticks (which inspired us to do just that!) Each cocktail has its own unique flavor, and they were so tasty we came back after dinner for a nightcap. We did not try the food on this visit as we were craving pizza, but I definitely will in the future. I love the takeaway window and that the whole establishment is opened until 2am. Not that I typically stay out that late, but it seems like most places close so early nowadays so this is a nice option. Can not even believe I have visited Joymongers twice and never knew this perfect diner/cool meetup/fun eating spot is actually their "neighbor" ! The couple we were with told us they were going to eat here for his birthday because they loved the fries and I was like "for real?" Until I ATE THE FRIES !!! I threw my diet right out the door after I tried the first fry; yes they are cooked in beef tallow but I think thats good for increasing speed of brain synapses...anyway, my grilled cheese on sourdough was causing us mouthgasms...crunchy, toasted bread (really large) and came with tomato soup that must have had some cream cheese or melted parmigiana in it also. The bacon in my friends sandwich was 1/2 inch thick ! Really want to go back for a hot dog, didn't get a photo of the one my friend had but he ordered two because it was that good. The pork sandwich is fairly tasteless and dry. Needs to lose the broccolini and add something more flavorful. What about a Rueben? A chicken cheesesteak? What about some cool Sloppy Joe options?
