I saw the owner on Thursday, 10/12/23 with my daughter regarding her pointe shoes that needed to be repaired. I showed the owner the shoes, the fabric (to be glued on) and we agreed that he would be able to do it next week. I asked him what the price would be and he said $25. (Later on, my daughter attested that this was indeed the price quoted). The next week, when I came back on Wednesday, 10/18 to pick up the shoes, the owner asked me to pay $40. I told him that he quoted me a different price the previous week and he stated that that he could not have had. Seeing my frustration, the owner said well let's meet in between and I will charge you $35. Well, maybe it seems fair to him but not to me as I was prepared to me not a cent above $25. If you say $25 when you see the work, it should stay $25. Period. What a disappointing experience!

An older woman appearing to be his wife walks in and she too becomes very nasty telling me to not come back and to leave. Are you seriously treating a customer like this?! I asked a question nicely which is my right especially in light of the damage. This man and woman immediately became nasty and rude. I'm a paying customer whose boots were damaged by their shop yet they are angry! The lack of care and the way she told me to leave I saw pure evil in both of them. Why become so nasty and defensive unless you're guilty of something. I remained composed and polite despite the way they spoke to me! I know and they know they damaged my boots. My boots were not looking like this when I dropped them off less than 24 hours before I picked them up, to now see excessive wrinkles in the leather, green/yellow polish smeared on the boots and rips in the exact same spots on the back of each boot which points to some type of machine ripping off the leather. They didn't once try and rectify the situation or even admit what they did or apologize. Only guilty people become defensive when asked a question. I know, they know, and God knows what they did. I unfortunately had to throw my favorite boots away because of the damage they did to the boots, and to think I paid money to them, only to get boots back looking like this! If you go there I recommend taking pictures and video before you give them any of your shoes! I wish I had taken photos/video of my boots before because then I could take them to court and report them to the local news for what they did! In my room lay a leather wristlet which remained unused for a year because I prefer a shoulder strap, but then I recently thought to bring it to Ace since I've seen luggage being repaired at the shop. I noticed the leather tassel decoration on the wristlet and advised the owner that he could manipulate the extra leather decoration to fashion into a longer strap. After examining the wristlet and listening to my suggestions, the owner was able to provide a solution. The finished product has enabled me to finally make use of the gift given to me awhile ago.
