I admit that it took me a long time to get around to writing this, but here goes. This was the most appalling experience I've had in my many restaurant adventures. I ordered Linguine & Clams. When they arrived the clamshells were shattered into dozens of razor-sharp pieces, any of which could lacerate one's esophagus. I asked for the manager and he appeared table side with a friendly, apologetic...No. He was aggressive, dismissive and hostile. It was bizarre. I'm not one to return meals unless there's something very, very wrong, and shards of shells rises to that level. Manager never offered to make it right, only angrily demanded to know what I expected them to do about it. I don't think that item is on the menu anymore. read more

Good God, this place is amazing! I was visiting Spokane for two nights and ended up coming here for dinner both nights. As amazing as the entire menu looks, I had the very original, delicious, and perfectly prepared Chicken Formaggio (basically their version of chicken parm++). Hannah was my server and she was amazing attentive -and SMART enough before I ordered my meal to ask me if I like gorgonzola cheese (which I don't!). The meal was tasty, delicious, moist, every bite packed with flavor. A little on pricey side, but you get what you pay for here. Incredible food, great service, yummy drinks, central location. All the staff were super kind, came in with a party of 10, they didn't have any tables that large but they still accommodated us and let us all sat together and have separate checks. They serve bread along with olive oil and vinaigrette sauce, they gave us a lot to accommodate for the busy night, which we really appreciated. I got the spicy seafood puttanesca. Fresh Manila Clams 2.5/5.0 Taste: very salty from the start. Great spices but the salt was overpowering. I'm not sure how they expected me to enjoy it. I think adding the prosciutto is a miss because the sauce would have been as good without it. When you have something like prosciutto that is already full of salt, there's no reason to add so much salt. It pairs well with bread. There's a strange after taste that I cannot place. Sausage Ravioli: 2.0/5.0 Not bad.. Definitely lacking in flavor. I have to say, I have had better from restaurant not claiming to the authentic Italian. Spicy Seafood Puttanesca: 3.0/5.0 every bite felt like I was taking a bit of sand which tells me that the scallops were not cleaned well. Overall, it was not bad, but I'm struggling to find the taste of the red peppers. I had one ravioli and one bite of the "spicy puttanesca. Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in experiencing a true Italian restaurant? No. The food was not good at all. The service was great, the atmosphere is nice and a long. I spent nearly $100 here and did not take any of the left overs hope and I ate very little. I'm happy that they have a loyal customer base to keep them in business, sadly; I will not be one of them. Overall it was a decent experience but I think the food lacked flavor for the price that it cost. Service: was amazing and our waiter checked up on us several times to top off our drinks or just check in on us. Forgot his name but a tall young man which went to Eastern or is currently enrolled. Great environment with plenty of seating indoor or outside. Food: the week before I had went to an Italian restaurant in another city and had the same dish which was spectacular. So when I had this dish that was more or less flavorless I was a bit upset to say the least. My friend enjoyed his seafood pasta and said the scallops were cooked perfectly though. On another side note I ordered a Sierra Mist and it was either really watered down or completely flat. There was no carbonation bubbles and I took sips between my water and "Sierra Mist" with very little difference. Overall it was decent but I probably wouldn't eat here again if given the choice. read more

Bad. really bad is the best way to describe it. From the food quality to the prices to the service there really was nothing enjoyable about this experience. We started off with the focaccia bread app. For $16 dollars we received a $10 flat bread. pretty much the opposite of focaccia. The premade pizza skin was limp and ghostly white with sear marks on the bottom that did nothing but call attention to it being undercooked. It was topped with a weird roasted garlic paste and barely melted mozzarella and bland tomatoes. Ordered a ceaser salad that came out overdressed in a not made from scratch dressing and store bought croutons. in ordered the raviolis in gorgonzola cream sauce. I should have known they would not be good when I noticed a warning on the menu they would be hard " al dente". The were hard and cold. not raviolis but mezza lunas. half a ravioli shaped like a crescent moon. No gorgonzola to be found. Tasteless and overly thick like a lot of flour was used to thicken. $29. Wife got the sausage carbonara. this dish was actually hot. But once again tasteless and floury. If you took a bite without bacon it was horrible. $27 Phone died halfway through so no pics of entrees. The only Italian dessert they had was tiramisu. not brave enough to try. read more

I have been to every Italian restaurant in Spokane in the Last twenty years, except a few of the most recent openings and cannot speak about their quality and service, but this restaurant has to the worst BAR NONE......I thought some others were bad or mediocre but this one takes the spotlight. Went there for dinner today and wanted to try their "Clam" dishes with linguine, and boy did I get a rude awakening, after being served The first taste was like sticking my tongue into a bottle of vinegar, HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING mouth-full I ever experienced at any other restaurant in Spokane, ever. Then to make matters even worse I chose to try their gnocchi dish in substitute thinking how could they screw up this pleasant Italian staple. There again I was near sick at what this restaurant chef had put together and served a client. This dish also was close to putrid and extremely sour tasting, so bad that after two bites I turned it away in disgust. The chef or cook, whatever they call him/her should be FIRED immediately. Not only have I been to Italy many times with wonderful experiences I cannot say the same here. It was nineteen years ago that I went to Italian Kitchen, and now I know why....Same rotgut food masquerading as something to enjoy. I will say though, my friend dinning with me had Lasagna and it was extremely good, so go figure? The service there is ok and considerate of course but the two dishes they brought me were enough to convince me to abstain from this place for another nineteen years. My advice to the owners who already have many negative comments from diners ....send that MORON of a COOK to Italy to bush up for a month o two, either that or Please close down your establishment to benefit the community I does NOT serve. And I add to this review/reply.....customers need only to check out Trip Advisor from June, 2025....see the reviews posted there, almost exact same complaints as to quality of food served at this place. I just changed my review from two stars to one star. Here's why: In response to the business owner, you either have us confused with a different customer, or you just like to lie. A 6:30 pickup would've been impossible. I just checked the phone records and we placed the order over the phone with the call starting at 6:32. The charge on our card was also posted at 7:22 so again, impossible for us to have shown up at 7:45. The food was not ready and waiting for well over an hour like you suggested in your response, because that's literally impossible. I would think twice before tearing into customers because we will now not be trying in person. I will make sure others know the kind of service you like to give your customers. I was also mentioning the food wasn't hot because we took it to go and it cooled down on a cold night on the way home, which is not fault of the restaurant, but good job being so defensive that you felt the need to attack your customer. Ordered food to go. Was not impressed with the meals but maybe it's because we didn't have it hot. The seafood was all overcooked and there was minimal seafood in the dish. Maybe sometime will try again in person and see if it makes a difference. read more

The host has zero customer service and is very unfriendly. What's worse is EVERYTHING we ordered was burnt including the Alfredo Pasta, which has brown hue probably due to whatever was in their pan. The whole meal tasted burnt. What wasn't burnt was the mushroom, which were not cooked at all. They cracked open liked fresh mushrooms. This is a very spendy restaurant, you should expect more from this place!! How could you let this out of your "Italian Kitchen". This was takeout for my birthday and a bit of a splurge for me. We kind of found this place by accident. We were walking down the street looking for a different restaurant when we saw this one, and decided to go inside. First of all the atmosphere is great. It has a very intimate feel and it was quite charming. We were seated it immediately, which in this day is kind of nice, and our waitress came to the table almost immediately to take our drink order. We perused the menu and decided upon appetizers and entrees. We had a house side salad and a Caesar salad to start and an antipasta platter. Both were excellent. The salads were dressed right and looked beautiful. The antipasta plate was gorgeous and included prosciutto mozzarella goat cheese blue cheese kalamata olives artichoke hearts and pepperoncinis as well as toasted baguettes. As you can see by the photos they looked beautiful and tasted great. We kept our entree simple. My wife had the spaghetti with meatballs and I had linguine pasta with sausage all in a pomodoro. The meatballs were amazing, and the Italian sausage was cooked very crispy on the outside and very juicy and succulent on the inside. The sauce was delicious as it wasn't overpowering and the pasta itself was cooked al dente. Overall this was a very nice experience. We topped off our meal with a white chocolate cheesecake with a key lime base and a raspberry coulis. It was the perfect ending to this meal. If you find yourself in Spokane, or if you live there, you should treat yourself to this once in awhile. If you like authentic Italian cuisine, it's the right place. Four stars not five because I have yet to find at a true five star establishment, but I have to admit, this place is pretty close. Happy dining! read more

Before COVID, we had several good experiences in this restaurant(it was recommended by friend) ....but.....today....??? Start with stuffed mushrooms little stuffs but the sauce n cheese covered  great.  Caesars salad was a bit too sour n too much anchovy. When main course was served, it was not hot, the wait staff told us that they will re make it.......so we waited and expecting too much. The Seafood Fettuccini was awful, 1. Fettuccini was mushy and all tangled up. 2. No manila clams but one shell, few bay scallops, No prawn but 2 30-40 sized shrimps, I didn't tasted any halibut nor salmon, or not visible at all this time. I end up eating one shrimp......and one mouthful??? Of Fettuccini. I did asked the wait staff why it is not al dente ...she explained that they cooked the Fettuccini al dente ......then...... Oh, what went wrong then? I doubt that they have any cook know how to prepare seafood now. 4 out of 5 of us were very disappointed with our meals. Halibut and salmon were over cooked. I ordered risotto with chicken. I got about a half cup of glutinous rice topped with blackened chicken that was coated with about a quarter inch of blackened seasoning that was so spicy that it was inedible And that is not hyperbole. They took the chicken off my bill but a house salad, the "risotto" and a glass of wine was $50.00. None of us finished our meal. read more

Delicious food! The prices were a little high, but boy did they deliver with flavor and quality. My husband had the Tuscan chicken. I had the spicy chicken diavolo, and my daughter had the lasagne. We were all delighted with our food, and the portions were generous enough to get a second meal from the leftovers. We split The Godfather -- a warm, multilayer brownie with ice cream that was the perfect end to the meal. Service was a little slow on a Friday evening, but that might be intentional to allow people to really savor the meal. read more

As a part of my birthday and my partner's, we went out to Italian Kitchen. Italian Kitchen is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Spokane. It is an extra special treat because the drive takes 1.5hrs each way. I am picky about Italian restaurants--not just any marinara will do. Italian Kitchen's is wonderful. I usually stick to basic dishes, your standard penne and marinara or the like. This time, I ventured out and ordered the Spicy Sausage Gnocchi. The gnocchi and sausage were delicious! I loved the baked mozzarella on top. It was definitely spicy as it promised. I am not one for spicy food, but this was *just* not too spicy. I loved the dish and would order it again in a heartbeat. (And extra water!) If you are in Spokane, I highly recommend trying this downtown Italian gem! Accessibility: This restaurant is generally accessible. Parking can be difficult. There are paid lots around including across the street. There is also street parking, which is very hard to find on busy nights. I am unsure of accessible spots around. There are no stairs to worry about. There is an accessible washroom here. (The non-accessible washroom is a tight squeeze.) The seating is a mix of tables and chairs and booths. Chairs do not have arms. Maneuvering may be a bit of an issue with tight spacing. Lighting should not be an issue. Noise may be a bit of an issue. Gluten Free is available! read more
