I went to Nekter to try out their Acai Bowl but mainly for the fruit on top. I saw in their photos they give quite and bit and was looking forward to all the fruit. I eat Acai bowls regularly and have never run across not getting a good amount of fruit. He brings my bowl out and it has ONE strawberry, and half of a banana, and a couple slices of apple. Thinking that maybe I would just order extra I asked the guy is this the normal amount even though your pictures look like this? His response was "does McDonald's hamburgers look like the picture?" I walked away even though I was willing to pay for more fruit. I felt the comment was uncalled for and rude. Won't be going back to any Nektar locations. read more

This is my new guilty pleasure!! I LOVE NEKTAR.. .. .. but it's so expensive!! :( I knew I loved this place on my first visit. I wanted to write the review right away, but then I knew I would come back and try more goodies so I waited to write my review. ACAI BANANA BERRY ($6.75): This is the first item I ever ordered here, mainly because I did not want the coconut shavings or peanut butter that appears in the other bowls. Being a noob, I asked the cashier if it would taste different if I made it a Greenie Bowl ($1) where they add kale and spinach into the mix. She kindly informed me that I would not be able to taste it. When they were done, I was pleasantly surprised. These Acai Bowls are HUGE!! This bowl is definitely picture worthy. This bowl comes with a sufficient amount of hemp seed granola and bananas, blueberries, and strawberries as toppings. I think they put honey on top too!! It was delicious :D I was only able to eat half, as my dinner, and then the remaining half as my dinner on the following night. TOXIN FLUSH (medium/24oz $6.75): On my second visit I decided to try their juices. Thanks to Stephan Y's review, I decided on the Toxin Flush. This drink was surprisingly refreshing with a nice zesty ginger after taste. GINGER SHOT (2oz $2.50) They didn't have the wheatgrass shot on the day I came and it was recommended that I got this instead. I really like ginger so I enjoyed this, but I was shocked by the Cayenne Pepper. PITAYA BOWL ($6.75) The raw coconut flakes really discouraged me from ever getting this, but someone told me this is their best bowl, so I had to try it. I just asked for it without the raw coconut flakes. I also turned this into a Greenie Bowl ($1). Mhmmm it was super tasty!! Overall I am definitely coming back. I love this place!! I decided to stop into this Nektar since I am often in the center for other reasons. This was my first time at this location, I have been to another location many times, but was looking for another one... as I am not a fan of the RSM location. I ordered a greenie, and the younger gentleman helping me was pleasant. Didnt really go out of his way to chat with me, and didnt seem too thrilled when I asked a few questions, but he was nice enough. My drink was made quickly, and the only real complaint I have is it had an overwhelming lemon taste. At the other location, I would order my drink with ice, and they would put it in a larger cup to make room for the ice. I noticed they did not do that here. I decided to go one star above the middle because other than the extra lemon taste... there wasnt really anything else that would make it just ok. I'm not sure if Nekter has a policy about this or not but today my mom and I went to Nekter and ordered a bowl. When we went back to get the bowl she noticed it looked differently than usual. She asked if the bowl was different than what she ordered and the person working there said no. We went back to the car and tried the bowl. It was completely different than what she ordered so she went back and asked if they could make her a new one but they said no. Every time I have visited this location there has been a decent wait time before I got my juice so expect to wait 10-15 minutes. They have specials for the 1 day juice cleanse. I love their green juices and their 1 day juice cleanse is very tasty. There is plenty of parking outside the location. Although juice prices are high I think the Nekter prices are more reasonable than some of the other juice bars. It's probably been 3-4 years since I've been to a Nekter Juice Bar, for the most part everything seems about the same as I've remembered it but prices have definitely gone up. Can't help but to blame inflation, but what can ya do? All in all, still a convenient spot to get your juice, smoothie, or acai bowl on... and even more recently they seem to serve ice cream / frozen yogurt as well. On my most recent visit while I was back in southern California for a bit, I did the Popeye's Acai smoothie ~ Açaí, banana, spinach, housemade cashew milk, and agave nectar blended with ice. That was one refreshing and creamy smoothie and perfect to replenish after a long day of roasting on the beach. On to the juices... which I was doing 4 to 5 times a week at one point in my life. For the most part, it seems the options have stayed the same. My favorites were the Toxin Flush ~Parsley, spinach, apple, lemon, and ginger~ and The Sublime ~Lime, orange, parsley, kale, spinach, and cucumber. Note that you can choose your own blend to make it custom and even add additional ingredients at no extra charge. I got it to go and it has no pineapples, blueberries, agave Nekter, cocoa nibs or goji berries. What did I just spend $10 dollars on and even tip. Not even as flavorful as last time and not nearly as full. Totally got ripped off for the first time. Last time even though it was delicious the açaí looked a little brown. Went in to get a Peanut Butter Acai Bowl this morning and all went well! The staff was friendly and talkative and the bowl was prepared in a timely manner. I took my bowl to go and brought it back to my office. Halfway through, I found a very chewy piece of "granola". Thinking it was just a grainy seed, I put it in my napkin without hesitation. I am very disappointed at the l quality of bowl that I get every time I go to this location... this time it was barely halfway full...I am paying nearly $9 per bowl and you'd think that they wouldn't gip you on how much you get.
