Nella Terra is one of the reasons why our wedding was so perfect. The venue itself is the most beautiful little oasis with so many different gorgeous areas for photos. Take your pick from the golden hills, lush green vines, ponds, etc. The landscaping of the venue is great. Our photos turned out amazing, especially sunset photos taken on the hills. There is a beautiful long staircase that the bride is able to make her grand entrance from for the ceremony, which makes you feel like Cinderella entering the ball. There is also a great place to set up for cocktails right outside the reception tent area, which makes the transition from cocktails to reception seamless. We also were able to have a cornhole game set up and a firepit lounge area to keep guests entertained during cocktails, giving you plenty of time to take photos uninterrupted. This venue has something for everyone. Not only is this a beautiful setting for your special day, the staff is extra attentive. We had champagne in the cutest country-style bridal suite, and the boys had their own area to hang out in prior to the ceremony. Whitney from Nella Terra went above and beyond to assist us with any questions we had during our planning process, and we were even surprised at the end of the reception with our names projected onto the hills, which was so special. We were so lucky to have found Nella Terra, and if we could go back and do it all over again, we would choose Nella Terra in a heartbeat. read more

We had our wedding reception here in June 2015. Frankly, Nella Terra Cellars was a home run. Our guests can't stop gushing about how gorgeous the venue looked. The lighting and setup exceeded our already very high expectations. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had our event there. The venue is tucked away in the hills so there's no worrying about noise or parking. You get the feeling that night is truly yours. Nella Terra likely will not stay a hidden gem for long. Our November wedding at Nella Terra was everything we could have asked for! We were expecting a difficult time finding our perfect venue that could fit 250 people. After visiting 2 other venues, we found Nella Terra. The venue was absolutely breathtaking and had so much to offer! Between the ceremony space, to the bocce area, the cocktail patio, and reception tent our guest were always entertained. Their partner, On the Vine Catering provided our food, which we did buffet style so guest could try a little of everything and we heard nothing but raving reviews on food quality! Lastly, part of the reason we picked Nella Terra was because we loved the family-owned feel it gave us! The family who owns the property and runs both the winery and the events were so sweet! Nella Terra Cellars is a hidden gem of a venue! We had heard about it through a friend who knows the family that owns the estate. We went to look at it and immediately fell in love with it. It had everything we were looking for. The venue coordinator, Kendall, was absolutely amazing to work with. She was responsive and willing to answer all of our questions and concerns. She was so helpful with her suggestions and ideas that helped bring our big day to life. On the day of, she was there and ready to go. She had champagne waiting for us and worked with our coordinator to make sure everything went off without a hitch. The day was everything we had dreamed of and we had so much fun! The Vineyards at Nella Terra Cellars is a magical location! Our daughter's October wedding was absolutely perfect with the sun setting over the golden hills as the evening progressed from the ceremony to the patio area for cocktails and appetizers, to the perfect party atmosphere set in the white tent under the beautiful chandeliers and strings of lights. The trees around the grounds were also covered in strings of lights adding a warm ambiance to those who wanted explore the property. We had more guests tell us that it had been the best wedding they had ever attended, and absolutely loved the location! The entire staff at Nella Terra was extremely accommodating, and it really showed that they cared about the service we received. We could not have asked for better wedding coordinators - both Leann and Cassie were amazing and on top of every detail. They were both very professional, accommodating, and patient with answering all my numerous questions via email and phone conversations, a true pleasure to work with! We had rave reviews on the buffet which was incredible, always looked well taken care of, and tasted delicious. When our daughter first visited Nella Terra we saw in her eyes that this would be the venue of her choice for their wedding, and we couldn't have been happier with their decision - truly the most perfect location, staff, and service for their "BEST DAY EVER"! read more

We recently had our wedding at this venue. While the environment was stunning and the photographer, caterer, and DJ were very professional, both the required wedding planner, site coordinator, and florist were amateurs and not worth the money. If you are an organized couple, be warned: do not book here. What we and our guests found egregious: - the package that was offered at the first meeting was not what was received- what was presented to be inclusive was not;  -when we arrived at the venue at the start time, there was no organization or guidance as to where to go, and it was not remedied; -the required wedding coordinator was not proactive or helpful, she arrived at the venue when the guests did, and did almost nothing useful throughout the whole process. For a small wedding reception like ours (with no other event happening onsite), there were not enough umbrellas out in 90 degree weather, the imported chocolate reception favors were left in the direct sun; after an extra payment of $1500 for two extra hours, setup and takedown took place during the contracted reception time, and everything and everyone was hustled out.  -though we acknowledge the weather was warm, flowers were delivered wilted with several dead ones. We had to supplement with our own.  -with the exception of the photographer, DJ, caterer and bartender, there was a strange unfriendliness that was pervasive. Guests were not greeted- they were ignored. Maybe Nella Terra is in Covid recovery, or maybe this was an extremely off day. My feeling is if they are over hosting weddings at Nella Terra, and they let you know this by the appalling lack of service. Couples be forewarned. read more

We got married here in September and it was absolutely beautiful! Not only is the venue amazing, but the staff at Nella Terra is exceptional. From the day we took a tour of the venue we knew this is where we wanted to get married. Nella Terra is fantastic! The staff is great from Nella Terra and Palmdale Estates. They really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and that your big day is amazing. We were the 5th or 6th wedding ever at Nella Terra and I'm sure our guest thought this site had been hosting weddings for decades! The view and scenery is lovely, the food is great, and the overall atmosphere is calm, romantic, and very down to earth all while being gorgeous. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone. My husband and I had our wedding here in late July 2022 and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. The site is beautiful, particularly in July and August when everything is lush. Food was extremely important to us, and while the caterer's food at our tasting was wonderful, it's only natural to be skeptical that it will be just as good on the wedding day, and yet it absolutely was (get the tri-tip carving station!). All of our guests had a great time and were blown away by the natural beauty of the venue, which was also a tremendous asset for our photographer - our sunset photos in front of the rolling golden hills look incredible. The venue had someone on-site during the day-of to make sure the groomsmen and bridesmaids had everything they needed, and to help ensure the whole thing went off without a hitch (thanks Bella!). Finally, the associated planner/coordinator, Simply Lovely Events, were phenomenal to work with (we relied on them heavily since we were planning from the other side of the country) and ran everything smoothly on the big day. Nella Terra was a dream come true! If you're looking for the perfect location for an unforgettable wedding... look no further! My husband (boyfriend at the time), family, and I were actually just wine tasting at Nella Terra for the day when my husband said... "I don't know about you... but I am getting married here!" We were not even engaged yet (haha), that is how in love we were with not only each other, but the location as well! That same day- I contacted Nella Terra and got a wedding date on the calendar for a year later. Everything ran smoothly leading up to the wedding. The wedding coordinators do everything in their power to make the bride and groom's dreams a reality. The actual wedding day was perfection. I run high on anxiety but my worries melted away with the care and effort from the NT staff. The bridal cottage was everything... walking down the long elegant stairs made me feel like an absolute princess... the atmosphere was magical. Since our wedding- we have received countless comments from wedding guests commenting that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. I have dreamed of my wedding my whole life- and it was better than I could have imagined. PS. We named our dog 'Nella,' after Nella Terra so if that doesn't tell you how AMAZING it is- I'm not sure what does. read more

I was a bridesmaid in an absolutely beautiful and impeccably executed wedding at this winery. The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready and enjoying some bubbly before the ceremony. There are so many amazingly scenic spots throughout the grounds for photos. The ceremony and photo shoot took place at the top of the hill with beautiful rolling green hills in the background. This place is so idyllic it doesn't feel like it should be long in the SF bay area. The cocktail hour was fun with live music, and when we were ushered into the tent for the reception I was surprised by how romantic and spacious it felt. Every little detail was perfect, and the onsite coordinator helped make sure everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there without coming off as demanding. This was by far the most well organized wedding I've been to (including my own!) and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. I plan on recommending this place to my friends who will be getting married in the future, because I would love to attend a wedding there again! read more

So I just had my wedding at Nella Terra 5 days ago and I have to say, the venue is GORGEOUS! As soon as I saw NT, I knew that was where I wanted to get married (no other venue we saw even compared). Our wedding coordinator for our event was Alena and I cannot even begin to explain how sweet she is. Even my family members and guests commented on how warm and sweet she was! She is extremely organized, she had every detail of mine down to a science, and she made sure that everything went off without a hiccup. The staff at NT is also fantastic. They served my guests a welcome drink my caterers made, they made sure everything in the tent was clean and proper, etc. The ONLY reason I am taking off a star is because the owner was a bit rude to some of my guests. A van was parked down by the gazebo area because we had some wedding equipment to unload, my brother who was unloading the van asked Jerry where the van should be parked and Jerry yelled at him and told him to just move the van. I had a couple other guests comment on him being rude to them as well. If you want to turn your property into a venue, you cannot be rude to the guests who rent it out...we followed all the rules, made sure to run everything by Alena, we were even out of the venue on time...and let's be real, we paid GOOD MONEY to rent out this venue...please treat my guests with respect. All in all, my wedding was everything I had imagined (and more!). I couldn't have imagined a better place to have my wedding. I just wish the owner had been a little more friendly! read more

My husband and I were married in June 2018 and we love the grounds of Nella Terra. Our background: We are wedding vendors ourselves and we have seen and been to so many wedding venues. We were looking for something truly unique and a venue no one has been to before. And that is Nella Terra. My #1 love about this venue, is the walkway. It truly makes for a grand entrance and my guests haven't stopped talking about it. As expensive as this place is, I like that they include a lot of things that I was looking for, like rustic cross back chairs and farm tables. You'd have to pay extra to get those brought in. Not everything is included, but its better than some other venues. The owner is so nice and sweet. Lessons Learned (or things I'm glad we did): - In hindsight, probably didn't have to add flowers to the pergola. Having the chandelier alone is beautiful enough. I could have saved floral $$. I highly recommend having the chandelier. It's part of certain packages, or purchased a la carte. - I wish they positioned our barrel in the center under the pergola. The barrel was off to the side a little, and we centered ourselves to the barrel which meant we were positioned off to the side. I haven't seen my photos yet, but my photographer did tell me that was an issue :(. - In general, you don't have to add so much decor to the venue. It's beautiful already!! But then again, that depends on when you get married. June was great in terms of how green and lush the vineyards were, but our wedding date was pretty windy. I'm so glad we didn't do draping on the pergola - We added an extra hour to reception time and I'm so glad we did. Day goes by so fast. I actually wish we added 1.5 hours. - Take advantage of all photo op areas. There are so many! - They have open houses on the 1st Saturday of the month. We came a few times just to scope out the venue and get our ideas together. - Even though I spent a lot of time trying to design a backdrop for our sweetheart table, I'm glad we didn't and just let the pond at Nella Terra serve as our backdrop. Too bad though, it was windy, so the tent walls were down. Btw, Tannya Demeyer of Simply Lovely Events was our coordinator and she is one of the preferred coordinators at Nella Terra. We are so thankful to her. It was nice working with someone who knows the venue and could answer our questions if we couldn't get an answer from Nella Terra. read more

I got married in July 2015 and there were over 250 people at the wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better setting for my best day ever! VENUE Beautiful - a bay area oasis! One drives up this private road lined with trees, open fields, and wildlife (watch out for the squirrels who like to run across the road). One descends the stairs lined by vines dripping with grapes and wild flowers in between. At the bottom one is greeted with a green lawn for the ceremony and behind it, a pond with ducks, a waterfall, and trees and flowers (I feel like I sound like the faceless man in GoT saying "one" all the time lol but anyway...). One can't help but marvel at how beautiful everything is here! Seriously, this place was amazing. All our guests commented about how lovely it was. One of my guests asked his wife why they didn't get married here :D My husband and I love being outdoors and I wanted an outdoor wedding initially. My parents were concerned about the elderly and unpredictable weather with an outdoor wedding and they wanted an indoor wedding initially. This was a great compromise with an outdoor ceremony surrounded by nature and the reception was indoors inside a tent with the option of still going outdoors. Seriously this place has everything: - Openness - there are rolling hills during the day and stars at night - Tent - I always loved the pictures of a tent wedding so this was a dream come true and helped relieve my parents' anxiety about the weather - Patio - perfect for games and complete with a fire pit and lounge chairs - Bridal suite - one of the largest and most well-decorated bridal suites that I have ever been to. There is a very large room with a small refrigerator, a smaller changing room, a bathroom, and a sliding glass door to the patio. - Groomsmen area - much smaller, but we did not actually use this. But it does have a bathroom. I'd like to comment on another reviewer's comment about a "dog running around". The "dog running around" belongs to the venue owner and every time I saw her, she was always friendly, and on the day of the wedding, I did not see her at all. Maybe because they let me bring my dog on my wedding day! Huge shoutout for them for this because it meant a lot that she was a part of my special day. FOOD/DRINKS We were bummed at first about having a required caterer. But actually all my guests couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. We did a buffet style but there are served options of course. They also accommodated for kids, vegetarians, and vegans. As for wine, we had the Redded Bliss and Viognier. For beer, we had Blue Moon and Anchor Steam. For the sparkling, there was champagne for the toast and apple cider. SERVICE Leann is so awesome. She met with us at the start and patiently answered all our questions. During the planning, she made everything that we wanted work (and I wanted a lot, she found space for: over 250 guests, DJ, dance floor, photobooth, boba bar, mini cupcake dessert bar with our small cake, gelato, and tacos for late night food). On the day of the wedding, she hustled endlessly to make sure everything was just as we had envisioned. My bridesmaids said that they saw her literally running around. Thank you Leann! Cassie was our ceremony coordinator. We met first during our rehearsal and I was a little worried because things were a little disorganized that day. But the wedding day went off well and she was a sweetheart for driving us around in the golf cart when we needed it. The sparkling wine on arrival was a nice touch which we enjoyed later! The entire rest of the staff was friendly too. HINTS - Long private driveway up to the venue. Our guests commented that they weren't sure they were in the right place, but that's why the venue require signs on the way up so make sure you have these and warn your guests in advance. - The parking lot and path to and from the bridal suite is gravel and it is not well-lit. I still had no problem in my high-heeled shoes. The aisle is not gravel in case you're wondering. - There is a shuttle if you don't want to take the stairs. - If you don't want your aisle to be the entire stairway, they can set up a curtain half-way up. I did this since I didn't want to walk a long walk down the aisle. - No cell phone service. Warn guests as well about this since we had a couple guests try to catch Uber or Lyft but they couldn't get service. - Bathrooms are the luxury mobile ones (fancy porta-potties). We made bathroom amenity kits but be forewarned that there is very little space (one thin ledge) for this. - I got married in July and it was hot, but not unbearable. At night, if you're outdoors, it can still get a little windy so bring something to cover up with. They do have heat if you really need it. In case you couldn't tell, I am delighted that Nella Terra Cellars was available for my wedding day. I would highly recommend them! read more

Love this winery! Came here for a private event and tasted some of their fantastic wines. Driving up the path to the house you are greeted with some of the most spectacular views. The wine tasting area is in the upper area with ample shade for enjoying your wine. I also got to check out the brides staging area here for the weddings they do and I'm pretty sure it is the most lovely space to for a wedding. The lower garden is where I think most wedding most take place and it has such a lovely bridge and gazebo to for pictures. read more

We had our wedding here in August and loved the experience. We worked with Leann throughout the year leading up to the event and she was always very accommodating and would answer our many questions. She's clearly detail-oriented and got everything set up the way we wanted on the day of. Cassie was our ceremony coordinator and was also great in helping us during the rehearsal and day of. Everyone at Nella Terra was just very friendly and great to get along with. It's a really beautiful venue - you can see the green hills in the winter and the golden hills in the summer. The grapes were out in the vineyard in August and it just makes for a really nice setting. For Jewish wedding reference: we put our chuppah in front of the gazebo and that worked well. Also, we did the ketubah signing by the big tree across the water from the ceremony site and that was a good spot. We enjoyed the food that we had (when we had a chance to eat) and heard only positive things from our guests. read more

We hosted our wedding at Nella Terra a few weeks ago and I can't speak highly enough of the beauty of this venue. Everywhere you look there is yet another picture perfect photo opportunity/background and I know both our photographer and our guests loved that fact. The team was very simple to work with, accommodated our requests for things that were a little bit different than the norm, and were always incredibly kind. The bridal suite is incredibly convenient for getting ready & holding the bridal party before the ceremony, there is plenty of parking available, and the price felt right for everything we got for it. One thing to note would be that is can be very breezy (windy) throughout the day and into the evening, so it is something to keep in mind when planning small details (i.e. you can't have petals lining the aisle without them just flying away!). Nella Terra is such a beautiful venue! My husband and I toured several different venues, but we knew once we walked onto Nella Terra's property that this was where we wanted to get married! The staff was great to work with and very responsive throughout the entire process! The only downside was how expensive the facility cost was but other than that everything was great! There was plenty of room for our 250 guests so that no one felt like they were on top of each other. I worked with Whitney to book our big day, and she was really nice & informative. Sharde was our day of coordinator and she was a dream, so sweet & helpful. We also met the owner, who was really friendly as well. All of the staff, including the shuttle driver and parking attendants were awesome. Nella Terra is really a beautiful place, and it shows that the family takes so much pride in making the venue perfect. The grounds are so well maintained, and they are very thoughtful with the layout and design of the space. We were able to keep our flowers really minimal because there is so much greenery and foliage already there. This venue has it all - lush grounds, picturesque backdrop, a charming tent, rustic wine decor, etc. The interior of the tent was so enchanting, we hardly needed to provide additional embellishment. Kendall, our venue manager, was always available to answer questions and make suggestions. She was there for us every step of the way. I recently attended a bridal fair here with my fiancé for a mock wedding. The venue was set up as if it were for a real wedding. First and foremost, the scenery is magnificent! This place is tucked away in a secluded estate around the Calaveras Hills. It has spectacular views of the vineyards and landscape decor. The gazebo, where a ceremony would take place, was minimally decorated (but done well) with sunflowers overlooking the pond. The outdoor patio/lounge has comfortable seats with a fire pit. It is great area for cocktail hour. The tent for the reception is large and accommodating and still overlooks the beautful landscape. The food served was amazing, expecially the creamy salmon and soft tri-tip. We did not try wine offered but the lemonade and peach tea mixed was delicious. The ONLY CON I can say about the venue was some rumors I overheard about the tent being replaced by a barn in the future. Although convenient for winter weddings and shade from hot summers, I would strongly disagree with this. It would take away from the open ambiance of the venue and the amazing view of the their landscape. The barn might push away clients in my opinion. We love your venue as is! read more

Everything about this place, the owner, and the events coordination team is spectacular!! This review is long overdue and I'm so glad to be taking the time to share what was such an amazing wedding - thanks to everyone involved. I found this place through a wedding event group called Palmdale Estates Events. Their main venue was Palmdale Estates, yet now they have Nella Terra Cellars as their new event venue (as Palmdale will be closing sometime this year I believe). I first met Lindsey who introduced me to the site and answered my initial questions clearly and was really available when needed. She connected me with Shanelle who was our day of coordinator as well as a huge support system along the way. Shanelle was reliable, patient, really kind, easy to talk to, and came up with great ideas and feedback/suggestions when needed. She was professional, but I also felt personally connected to her and I could really feel her genuine interest in making sure the wedding was just what we hoped for......and it was! Shanelle was extremely organized, detail oriented, and I never felt rushed by her in our meetings or phone conversations. She was always available and quick to respond, and went out of her way endless times to help us out and create a beautiful experience overall from beginning to end. Brittany was wonderful as well! She was our ceremony coordinator, and although I didn't work with her as much (not as big of a production as the reception in our case!) she was really great. She was patient and flexible with our rehearsal and answered my 50 million questions! Jerry, the property owner was such a great man! He was friendly, personable, and accommodating in my many visits to the site (it was still in process of completing construction while we were planning). His hard work paid off - the site is absolutely breathtaking. So many guests were blown away with how beautiful of a setting it was, especially tucked away among the hills. You really feel like you escape the hustle and bustle of life out there, yet the freeway is so close by it makes it a very convenient location for your guests to get to. Our wedding day was AMAZING! Jerry shuttled some of our guests down the path to the site and everyone loved him (unsurprisingly). Brittany made sure the ceremony site was set up just as we'd hoped, and helped our ceremony flow beautifully. Shanelle made sure things ran seamlessly and came up with great solutions to anything that popped up along the way, peacefully and efficiently. The tables were set exactly as we'd envisioned and she even brought in cupcake holder chandeliers to display our bundtinis perfectly! She was calm and collected and made me feel so taken care of and attended to. She assisted in making sure we were somewhat on target with timing of everything (dances, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc.) and was kind enough to bring me a fresh plate of food once I finally sat down (for the second time - I kept chatting it up with everyone!) without me even asking. She was graceful and wonderful to our guests and we really feel lucky to have had her be there with us on such an important day. Can't recommend her, this group, and venue enough!! I selfishly hope one of my friends chooses to get married here at some point because I'd love to come back for another event!! read more

This venue is an absolutely wonderful space to have a wedding or really any function. My husband and I had an Hindu ceremony and dinner here, and can only speak highly about our experience working with Leann and Palmdale Estates here. Leann was great to work with as she was friendly and highly communicative in the months leading up to the event, answering our questions and being helpful both in suggestions and accommodation. They also offer in-house Indian food catering, which was a big plus for us. On top of the excellent service throughout, the venue is beautiful with lots of greenery. For those interested, we were also able to get some great sunset photos at the end of the evening. read more
