    Brie cheese karrage
    Anna A.

Saw this on social media a few times and decided to try this place out Ambience is good and bright. Service was attentive and great. However servers did not seem to know the wine list or serving wine very well but not bad. We ordered the salmon noodles which came with 2 sauces, one slightly spicy. We also ordered the salmon aburi and brie cheese karrage The salmon noodles was fresh and i personally felt that the regular dipping sauce went better than the spicy sauce. The brie karrage was very well done and cheese inside melted on point. However the sauce was a bit too overpowering the cheese The salmon aburi was not my favorite. The aburi was seared and torched very well. However the aburi sauce, mayo and pesto combo was so overpowering that i couldnt taste the salmon anymore One last feedback. One of our server (or maybe owner) was a wonderful and lovely lady, however her perfume was a bit too strong in a foodservice/customer service setting. Just something to be mindful of

They are new in town, but have already stolen my heart!! I've been back twice in a week! At first, I was only captivated by the "viral salmon noodles", but after trying their other food, I know that it's going to be a place i visit often now! I already knew the salmon noodles weren't anything special beforehand because it's for the gram lol. Rhwy weren't particularly fresh, but $25 for a decent amount. Everything else was great and price friendly in my opinion as well! Could've done without the nigiri set (and I would've ordered another Aburi sushi instead lol) You just try their black seasame brussels sprouts (you don't really think it'll work... but it does, it's so unique but balances so well!) and their beef carpaccio (soft and buttery). There's plenty of seats, and the interior is filled with a ocean vibe. The owner, or maybe manager, is so friendly and chatty! The staff is amazing too! My boyfriend says they're the world's best tea fillers because they're so attentive whenever we take a sip and then refills right away (granted this was close to closing time so it was less busy) You don't get many "fine dining" type experiences in east vancouver! It's close by, and there's usually plenty of parking.

Seafood tower was a pretty decent deal

Stopped in for a weekday lunch for their soft opening. Staff were super nice as we had a tiny human with us - they gave us a decent seat in the middle of the restaurant and came by often to check on us. My tea was never empty as they were on top of refilling it. Splurged on the seafood tower and a sushi set and I felt it was worth the cost for the amount of effort spent assembling it and the quality of the ingredients. We also got a complimentary agedashi tofu that we won spinning their prize wheel for their soft opening. Overall it was a good visit and we will be back to try their lunch sets!

Blue coast is a hidden gem of authentic Japanese cuisine. The food quality here is simply exceptional! It's easily become my new favorite spot in the city and I highly recommend making a reservation. Must try their signature rolls and the seafood tower. Free customer underground parking on the side of building.

Tried out the roll combo that came with dynamite roll, California roll, house roll, yam roll, spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll to try a bit of everything. I liked the unique sushi rice because they use red vinegar to flavour it to help balance the pH of the dish! Not sure I can say the sushi was exceptionally different to anything else you'd find in Vancouver so I would recommend trying some of their cold/hot appys or sashimi instead!

Appetizer tempura (batter needs to be a bit more fluffy)

Friendly staff. Great food. Very modern. Would definitely go back there again. A little challenging for parking. But worth the trip.

Solid seafood place near Coquitlam Centre…read more Parking is available in the lot in front of the building. The place looks nice and modern. Comfortable cushy chairs, and wooden trim. Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

While there were no…read moretoddler friendly utensils, they do offer booster seats and the wait staff were absolutely amazing and so patient with our little one. Thanks so much! They offered to split our lobster bisque so we could each have our own. We've also tried their tableside salad and desserts before and enjoyed the shows. My toddler wanted to get a closer look. The ambience is moody with high ceilings, low lighting, and plush seats. There is a constant buzz of conversations around us to provide a bit of intimacy and privacy to our conversations, while also allowing our toddler to be just a bit rowdy without feeling like we are disturbing the other guests. Of the food, I love the mushroom side with the truffle fondue. I wanted to dip everything in it as it was so flavourful and delicious. Complimentary bread with butter and blue cheese butter were offered to start. The brussel sprouts side was also unique with the added pistachios and a crisp for some crunch. The hearty mussels and clams starter were great for a rainy evening. Portion was enough as a meal by itself, too! There is a covered parking lot for those driving. I suggest making reservations as it can be quite busy!

Located at the Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby, free parking available in the casino lot across the street, but be warned that it's dirty as hell & smells terrible. Atlas Steak & Fish, is a supreme restaurant via looks, decor, lighting, seating, piano bar, table service, excellent waiters, food presentation & more. I ordered an Atlas Old Fashioned & let me tell you - WOW! Truly one of the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. (Bulleit 10yr bourbon, charred rosemary-maple syrup, aromatic bitters, cacao bitters served smoked over a 2" ice cube) The complimentary bread & butter was delightful. Our waitress Marina was fantastic. Our dinner consisted of Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Halibut & Lobster Risotto & the Tomahawk Pork Chop. Everything tasted splendid & knocked it out of the ball park. For dessert, get the Baked Alaska - it is absolutely sensational! The table service is spectacular - see my video clips. Make a reservation & get here ASAP! Hot tip alert - the dinning room temperature can be a bit cold. Ask for a blanket once you start freezing!

This place has always felt like one of those "special occasion only" restaurants that are usually out of reach. The special menu was such a steal and so wonderful!!! Every course came out looking delightful, from the bright, delicate starters to the beautifully cooked mains to desserts that made us slow down just to savor the moment. I didn't want the food to stop flowing. Service was warm without being stuffy, the vibe was lively but still intimate, and the whole night felt like we'd accidentally unlocked a VIP experience. Araxi did not disappoint, though I'm disappointed in myself for missing their apres deal with a discounted fondue using cave aged gruyere! Definitely reserve ahead of time during peak season. They start you with fresh herbed ciabatta and sourdough with olive oil and butter, and both breads were great but especially so for our hungry kids. They had the most perfectly sharpened quality colored pencils and a coloring/activity sheet for the kids, which was much appreciated! Drinks: - The Cure: talisker 10, pineapple, mezcal float - Fig Jam: fig infused mezcal, apple cider, fig jam, spices - great to start They also had a good wine list, and they even had some local wines by the half bottle, which was a nice option, so we got a local Pinot. Food: - Oysters: island tide and kusshi, served with traditional mignonette and horseradish - Ricotta gnocchi: with wild mushrooms, cheesy lemon fonduta, crispy sage - a smaller portion but good for sharing as an appetizer - Pacific crab and matane shrimp cake: no fillers, perfectly seared, with a great local pear and avocado salsa verde - Seared scallops: perfectly seated, with local sunchokes, crispy prosciutto, grilled bok choy, xharred pepper romesco - Ora king salmon: similar to the kids' one but dressed up, with roasted beats, beet and ginger salsa, goat cheese arancini - House made bucatini: mentaiko style with spicy cod roe, humobldt squid, breadcrumbs. This had a nice kick, and the pasta texture was great - Kids' fish: seared salmon with risotto and bok choy - a generous portion of perfectly seared salmon! Dessert: - Valrhona chocolate fondant: warm gooey chocolate cake with tahitian vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate crisps Service was great and very kid friendly (including copper mule cups for their water!). We ordered a lot of food for 2 adults and 2 young kids, but everything was so great - every item was a hit. There's a reason why we keep coming back to Araxi!
