Been to Deep Cove many times but haven't been here for awhile. Finally came back and it is still good. We got the Acorn Bucatini and a Timo's Benny. We told them we were sharing so they actually split them in two for both dishes. Even though the bucatini didn't have much sauce, it was still very flavorful. If you're a 'saucy' person, then this may not be for you. The benny was really good, the smoked steelhead was fresh and tender. We would recommend it for brunch. They do have a small kids menu which was why we decided to come today. Before, we didn't think they have a kid's menu since it's not shown outside their place. You choose between two types of pasta, choose between three types of sauce and a couple types of protein. It's not a big kid's menu but at least it was something our little one can eat. Haven't been to this restaurant for years. We went today and really enjoyed brunch. Food was quite good and tasty. good quality ingredients. Service really good too and a beautiful setting and nice decor inside (great patio outside). If I were being picky I'd say cook the egg slightly longer but it was near perfectly cooked. Hollandaise excellent as well as the coffee. Hubby said it was the best breakfast he'd had out in a long time and we'd try it again. After our paddling adventure, we headed to Arms Reach Bistro -- a cozy gem right by the water in Deep Cove Village. As a long-time customer, I will never return. This restaurant has completely gone downhill. The waiter serving us didn't have the slightest smile. We didn't want ice water and asked for hot water instead, but when checking the bill we were secretly charged $27--that's $5.40 per cup of hot water. What's ridiculous is that the bill described it as "tea." When I questioned it, the waiter coldly replied it was because he had to pour the water. Only when I asked what difference there was between hot and cold water did he finally agree to a refund. Ironically, before double-checking the bill, I had already left a tip. We brought our own wine and were charged the $25 corkage fee, which is not even mentioned before. But the restaurant even added liquor tax on top of the corkage fee, which is unreasonable since we had already paid liquor tax at liquor store The environment has also become awful--flies were everywhere throughout the meal, and we spent the entire time swatting them away. The menu is a classic which is a positive and also gets a bit tired after visiting so many times. However, I assume they keep it this way because the food is so damn good. Walking out of here without ordering the mussels would be a tragedy. They are mouth watering, drink the whole pot of broth amazing! The coconut with a spicy kick soaks up into those plump juicy mussels in all the right ways. The Caesar salad could use more of that delicious dressing though. I'd skip the butter chicken but definitely order the baked spaghetti if you're looking for something hearty and downright comforting. The steak Diane may be the highest price point on the menu but the chef at arms reach knows how to cook a steak right (unlike most of the steakhouses in vancouver). On top of all this yummy food, you have a view of the beautiful deep cove and twinkling lights which adds an extra layer of magic to this unique dining experience in the north shore. read more

This place is probably the best restaurant in Deep Cove, which is not saying much because of the sparse number of eateries in this area (as compared to the entire Vancouver-metro). As of June 2023, the area is still undergoing major construction, so parking is very limited. The service here is top-notch. However, the food is rather underwhelming. The spicy spaghetti is a disaster in the sense that it is soaked in chili oil. The meat was also over-seasoned. Other than these two issues, the noodles tasted ok. The butter chicken entree tasted a bit better than the spaghetti, but not by much. In honesty, if a Costco frozen butter chicken were to be microwaved and served, I couldn't tell this dish apart from it. read more

Loved the vibes and location near the water We ordered the coconut mussels to share, the Mediterranean bowl and the spicy spaghetti. This was for 2 people and definitely was a good amount, almost was too full but the food was so delicious! My favourite dish was the coconut mussels - it was 11/10!!! First off I have to say the service here at Arms Reach is exceptional! Both of our servers on duty provided us friendly and knowledgeable service! Their warmth also make enhanced our dining experience! Located in the Deep Cove Village, this is a tourist hot spot during spring and summer, you would be lucky to even get a table here! For us locals, I am glad, we are also able to enjoy this lovely restaurant during the "off" seasons. Food is also exceptional, my Spicy Spaghetti came in a large portion filled with Argentinian Prawns which as an extra crunchy texture and sweetness, the pasta of course is al dente, the chorizo added an extra punch to the whole dish! BC Organic Beef Burger was also outstanding in that the beef patty was still juicy and you can taste the quality in the Organic Beef they used. Kudos to the Chef's use of brioche style bun, perfect match in texture!! Lovely restaurant in the Deep Cove area. They open for dine in again with spacing seats. There are seats outdoor too if you don't want to sit inside. All waitresses wear mask. The place is clean, bright and breezy with lots of windows. The foods are delicious with big portions. We order burrata pistou for appetizer. The pistou for me is like a French version of pesto with more garlic and no pine nuts, very light and fresh. The tagliatelle is a vegetarian dish. Im not a vegetarian but I love mushrooms and this dish is amazing! Very rich truffle flavour. The dish is not complete without you cutting the egg and mix the soft boiled with the pasta. The washroom area is outside of the restaurant but private and clean. They also provide hand sanitizer inside if you prefer. What a delightful experience! While in Deep Cove, we discovered this amazing restaurant overlooking the water. A variety of indoor seating includes window side tables with great views of the water. If you prefer to sit ouside, there is a welcoming covered patio that also includes beautiful views of the landscape and water. The food was amazing! We had the beef carpaccio to start-close to the best I've ever had! For mains we ordered the spicy spaghetti and the Timo's Benny (smoked steelhead, arugula, red onion, with hollandaise). Each dish was equally as delicious as our appetizer. They also have an extensive wine list with some amazing Italian reds. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff delightful and helpful. We ordered the Hand-cut Fries and Garlic Aioli, the classic Baked Spaghetti and the Penne Chicken. Fries were a little soggy but overall still very flavorful and fresh compared to a lot of places. Classic Baked Spaghetti was delicious!! (Best dish we ordered). The Penna was an order out of our usual box but was very delicious. it had chicken, asparagus, sun-dried tomato, red onion, goat cheese, fresh basil. A really nice place to go to during the summer months in Deep Cove. They have a big dining room as well as a patio seating area. Even though they are close to the waters, I didn't get that much of a view of the waters, I think it's due to the tree foliage. Might have a better view in the winter. Food is nice there, very colourful and fresh ingredients. We got the pork chop and steak as our mains. Unfortunately the first steak was completely overcooked, but our server was quick in action and offered to redo our steak. The second time when it came out it was perfect. Our server was nice throughout and checked up on us to fill water and drinks. I did noticed, however, the windowsill need a good cleaning. As we were seated right next to a window, I saw lots of cobwebs and a few dead flies in between the windowsill. Good thing we had a 4 person bench table, so we moved down away from the window. It's been a long time since I've headed down to the deep cove neighbourhood and am I glad to see all the little gems still intacted and where I remembered. And the Arms Reach Bistro is always the first place we think of to dine with its beautiful patio and tasty dishes. And it tastes just as good as I remembered too! We ordered the Rocket Tagliatelle + Yarrow Meadows Duck Confit. The Yarrow Meadows Duck was a nicely seasoned duck leg with great balance of greens and potatoes. The mix of arugula with pasta in the Rocket Tagliatelle was something new to me. I have never tried a salad pasta combination before and it actually works! I love how we can order this dish without having to worry about missing out on our greens. It has a very fragrant truffle taste, a perfectly poached egg and is a bit more heavy on the savoury note so would recommend requesting lighter in the salt, but all in all a really lovely and creative dish that I would no doubt order again! read more

Great find during visit to Deep Cove. The waitress was amazing and so friendly and welcoming. She made our visit very enjoyable. We sat outside which was getting cooler as the sun was setting and the waitress was not able to fix the heater so she brought us blankets to use while she got her manager to fix the heater. We had the calamari and the Brussel sprouts with squash as appetizers. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic and flavourful with the green goddess sauce. We had the organic beef burger and the spicy spaghetti. The beef burger was cooked perfectly on a soft brioche bun. Fabulous location and the staff are really great. We have our favourite dishes but you can't go wrong with their menu and specials. If you are vegetarian their chicken penne without the chicken is loaded with veggies and goats cheese! Large portions to share so there's room for their Ghostly Kale Caesar or the beet salad. Amazing muscles with coconut sauce. PRO TIP: dunk the fries in the sauce and leave em sitting there gather precious juices, then eat with fork. Have the baked spaghetti which wasn't anything special, but the muscles are so good it's worth coming back. Next time I'll skip the pasta and get the steelhead or carpaccio (which I've heard are great). Great view and location. Been here once for dinner. My salmon was good, they also had a good white wine recommendation to go with it. We also ordered a steak. The staff was cooperative about swapping al the sides for one salad, which was nice. Also for brunch once. We ordered the huevos rancheros and eggs Benedict. The huevos rancheros was not really a huevos rancheros. It was ok, but the rice didn't have that much flavor, neither did the salsa, and it made the whole thing soggy. Eggs Benedict was ok but nothing special. The caeser was decent. Dinner experience was way better than brunch. Overall, food feels like it was likely sitting there for a few mins before it was brought out, although it wasn't like cold or anything. The surrounding area of Deep Cove is stunning and Arms Reach has the exclusive panorama of it. I was told of this place as a 'must do' from a friend as it had good food and the best view you can find. I do agree that the view onto the water cant be replicated anywhere as I sat by the window and enjoyed the view. We got reservations online easily and even on a Sunday afternoon, you do need it. There is a constant flow of people trying to get a late lunch spot on the weekend. We overheard the wait being at least 40 minutes for a larger table. Getting a rez would be a good thing to do even if you think a 2 pm slot would be slow... it isnt! Just a warning about getting here... parking is just awful. Terrifyingly bad. Expect 15 to 20 minute of roaming around to find a spot on the weekend and if you think you could sneak in on a spot that isn't quite legal, forget it. There is tons of parking enforcement handing out tickets. It could really dampen your overall Deep Cove experience if you werent warned or expecting this. Service here is ... ok. It works mostly. They're not bad but it feels like they're just going through the motions and that they would like to be any where but there. It's not unattentive but it looks quite bored. Perhaps it was a long weekend for work but at try to be attentive. Menu reads like a typical bistro with a price point that seems reasonable till you see the dishes in front of you. Baby Kale Salad with addition of chicken - At $20, there's hope that a salad is plentiful or filled with really good ingredients. This was literally just as described... baby kale with a few slivers of fennel and pickled onions. And the portion size is what Vancouver would call a side salad instead of a meal sized. The chicken was a bit dry and bland. Overall, it's just a small and bland salad for $20. 3/5 Beet salad with tomatoes - Though it looked a lot prettier with the shades, this was possibly even smaller than the kale salad. At least it had a few more interesting sprigs of greens on it. It was very boring ... sure we ordered wrong but these should not be on any menus for the price points. These are side dishes that should be much less. 3/5 Fried green beans - These were laughably bad... oil laden, heavy, and maybe 20 fried green beans for $8. I ordered this because I was told these were delicious. Absolutely not... it was so hard to eat because they didnt even take off the stems which was fried to a bark texture. 2/5 I dont want to call this place a tourist trap. With some dishes being mundane and others as being blatantly overpriced and executed poorly, it would have been easily tossed aside in any other location. The saving grace is the view which Arms Reach just benefits from and has nothing to do with it... so tourist trap. read more

I don't usually eat in Deep Cove, and to make it out here it definitely was a recommendation from one of my Dear's co-workers saying that the creme brulee was 'the bomb'. So we made a date out of this and came out here to see what the big deal was. Deep cove is a nice place to visit, calm, tranquil, and this restaurant has a great spot located at the end of the block. It is a non-pretentious place, a very comfortable, small town upscale restaurant feel that would feel right whether you came all dressed up in work attire, or a more relaxed state. You are welcomed right away from the staff here, and the people are genuinely friendly. Our dinner consisted of an order of the crab cakes, the angry chicken, and the vanilla bean creme brulee. The orders came pretty quick, with our appetizer coming first. The crab cakes were not bad, just remember, this is one of those dishes that come out differently at ever place. They were not large but they were fair in size. When the angry chicken came out, it had a very nice seared crunch to the skin (always go to have the skin taste evil and good... yum) with a zing provided by the basil and lime mixture, definitely the highlight of my night here. The creme brulee was actually the let down, it was small, the top crunchy layer of any creme brulee was a little too thick, like topping it off with a lollipop substance and the creamy parts were a little rough. If your in the neighbourhood, this place is a good place for dinner, a good place to even catch a drink at their bar, I don't know when I will be back, but I would give this place another chance, especially in the summer as I can see they have a patio.... and being where it is located, as I said... it's an advantage.. to their business. read more

Prices are fair (~$15 to $30 an entree) and food smelled amazing ! We actually decided to have lunch at this restaurant because the smell attracted us. The server was both helpful and extremely pleasant, the menu was focused and the dishes were unique and extremely creative. I selected the pan fried steelhead trout and it was wonderful. Came here after a weekend hike, looking for something open near the cove for an early dinner, and we stumbled into Arms Reach Bistro. For such a great location, (right on the harbour) on a beautiful sunday afternoon it was surprisingly empty so we were a little wary. We started with the burrata appetizer which was amazing. I can never resist ordering burrata when I see it on a menu, and I was not disappointed. So rich and creamy, and the pistou really brightened up every bite. Everyone at our table ordered pasta as a main: the mushroom tagliatelle, the sundried tomato chicken penne, and the spicy chorizo spaghetti. Portion size was great, I was the only one able to finish everything and we had nearly half the tagliatelle left over. The chicken penne was really delicious, the chicken moist and tender, and the sundried tomatoes added a bite of acidity and sweetness that really tied everything together. The truffles on the mushroom tagliatelle were a bit overpowering, but for a mushroom lover, not a deal breaker, and the mushrooms themselves were wonderfully garlicky. The chorizo in the spaghetti was nice and fatty, without so much spice that your tongue was burning off. Overall we were very happy with our meal. The place is very clean and bright, with lots of windows providing gorgeous views of the cove and the park outside. Its fairly quiet inside, and they have a nice patio out front with a charcoal grill on the weekends serving up fresh fish. It's a little pricey for lunchtime, but the value is there and you wont leave hungry. They have a decent drinks menu, mainly focused on wines with only a few craft beers. They also had some bottles of Orange wine I am interested to try next time I get a chance.
