Ace auto repair and tire was the only shop open at 7 in the morning, I walked in without an appointment at 7:30. They removed the nail, patched up the tire and completed the work in an hours time! When I asked them about payment for the service, they refused to charge me for the repair. While waiting in the shop for the repair, I witnessed a bunch of regulars bringing in their vehicles for different kinds of issues. The trust and comfort they had with this shop was something that has been built on with years of excellent service. I've been to other tire shops where I've been overcharged for similar situations because I needed help quickly. For the first car, I decided to go ahead with the repairs mostly because the shop is conveniently close to my work. The mechanical work was good, though the repair bill ended up being pretty steep relative to the value of the car for those two major fixes. Afterward, I did notice that a couple of the plastic clips for the under-panel weren't replaced, but it wasn't a huge deal. On my second visit, I brought in another car to check out an engine noise. The initial diagnosis was a bad alternator and after a better inspection a couple of hours later, it was diagnosed a bad AC compressor, which made total sense since my AC had stopped working a couple of weeks earlier. Since it was getting late in the day, I decided to drive it home without having them do the repair right then. When I looked underneath the car at home, I noticed the under-panel wasn't snapped back down fully, and a couple of retention clips were missing again (which I'm sure were there before, since I do my own oil changes). Overall, I think their mechanical work and diagnostics are really solid. I haven't shopped around for pricing so I can't speak to that, but it's just a small bummer about the splash guard clips getting left behind. I'd definitely trust them for diagnostics, but I'll probably double-check my under-panels next time!
