Let's face it: whenever an unexpected car repair comes up, we all hold our breath wondering how…read moremuch our bank account is going to shrink. Most of us like to poke our heads under the hood and pretend we know what's going on, but we usually don't. The next logical step is a repair shop, and many people default to the dealership because they think they can trust them more. In my experience, that's a mistake--dealerships often touch ten things, fix one, and charge you for everything. Luckily, I found Rich and his team. I recently bought a newer car with all the bells and whistles, and I was braced for a huge bill. Rich was incredibly professional, polite, and straightforward. I was actually in shock; he takes the time to educate you on the repair rather than just grabbing your keys and telling you he'll text you later. The estimate was a pleasant surprise, and better yet, there were no hidden fees at the end. The amount he quoted was exactly what I paid. They were on time, efficient, and had me back on the road in no time. It is such a relief to find this kind of service these days. It's nice to know you don't have to pull out a platinum card for a simple repair or an oil change. All the 5-star reviews you see here are 100% true. One quick tip: the shop can be a little tricky to find the first time, but trust your GPS! It will get you there, even if the turn looks a bit hidden. You cannot go wrong with this team!

From the beginning, I was impressed by Rich's professionalism, knowledge and ability to explain both the issues and solutions in a clear way. He was almost half the cost of the dealer, as expected. It's refreshing to find in this industry. Both efficiency and quality was also there. He even lent me a car to get to work and took the time to walk and show me the parts they replaced at the end rather than rush me out after getting paid. If I ever need a mechanic again for my Audi this is where I will go. Highly recommend!

Incredibly responsive, honest, transparent, and trustworthy people and service!…read more Whether it's for an oil change or a major service, the team here gets the job done with speed, efficiency, and high quality. They also call promptly to provide updates and are up front about their recommendations. I just had my 90k service completed and they provided a clear breakdown of what's highly recommended to fix and why vs. others that need monitoring. Love that they sent the report via text so I could take some time to review and discuss with my husband. I also think the price is fair (checked with AI and it always fits the range for the service). Special thanks to Scott for staying late so I could pick my car up before the weekend! Appreciate you!! Highly recommend. P.S. location is so convenient, too. Got a car wash right next door (excellent btw), a tire shop on the other side (for those darn nails), and Costco gas down the street!

I highly recommend AutoTech in San Ramon for anyone looking for car repair. Lauren answered my call…read morewhen I reached out and kindly offered to take a look at my car first to estimate the diagnostic cost. They scanned my 2010 Prius car at no charge and identified the issues. There would only be a fee if further diagnosis or repairs were needed. The initial scan was very helpful and allowed me to contact the battery company for my Prius battery pack, which is still under warranty. AutoTech is a great place to get an estimate, and Lauren is very responsive. I had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend this shop as an alternative to dealership service.

Alternator died on Sunday. Found Driven Auto Care on yelp so had tow truck drop my car off there…read more Got an estimate by 8am Monday, and repair complete by Tuesday. Had some questions about replacement parts cost. Tech listened and took my concerns into consideration. Very happy with the result. Will take my car back there again.

I brought two different cars here for diagnostics, and the team did a professional and thorough job…read moreboth times. For the first car, I decided to go ahead with the repairs mostly because the shop is conveniently close to my work. The mechanical work was good, though the repair bill ended up being pretty steep relative to the value of the car for those two major fixes. Afterward, I did notice that a couple of the plastic clips for the under-panel weren't replaced, but it wasn't a huge deal. On my second visit, I brought in another car to check out an engine noise. The initial diagnosis was a bad alternator and after a better inspection a couple of hours later, it was diagnosed a bad AC compressor, which made total sense since my AC had stopped working a couple of weeks earlier. Since it was getting late in the day, I decided to drive it home without having them do the repair right then. When I looked underneath the car at home, I noticed the under-panel wasn't snapped back down fully, and a couple of retention clips were missing again (which I'm sure were there before, since I do my own oil changes). Overall, I think their mechanical work and diagnostics are really solid. I haven't shopped around for pricing so I can't speak to that, but it's just a small bummer about the splash guard clips getting left behind. I'd definitely trust them for diagnostics, but I'll probably double-check my under-panels next time!
