Had a very smooth experience buying a brand new vehicle recently from Nelson Mazda. I had been wanting to take a look at the cx50 hybrids having driven 2 cx5s for the past 13 years. My in-laws who live locally let me drive their 2025 cx50 hybrid and I knew I had to have one. I walked in to the dealership on a random Tuesday and Drake greeted myself and my husband and happily agreed to show us the inventory and go over pricing. We were in a time crunch the first day stopping in so I searched the inventory online for the white exterior I wanted, and when it didn't pop up, I texted Drake who said he could do a dealer trade for the specific colorway I wanted. As soon as I said I was interested in proceeding, Drake went to work for me. The very next morning he texted me that my car was ready for me to pickup! It must have been fate because that was my birthday! Tate helped us close the deal because Drake's shift ended earlier than I was able to get there, but ultimately I was able to drive my new car home on my birthday. I noticed a warped all weather mat on the back seat at the time of purchase and was assured that it could be molded straight. When I got it home however, it was clear that something under the mat was uneven because it folded/warped each time the seat back was placed upright again. I took it in and despite me and my husband initially making bit of a scene, Baylor helped us get the underlying problem fixed and had his team reshape the mat so it looks brand new again. This was my first oil change and while I was in the waiting area they sent me a video with a summary of the things they did and checked on my vehicle. Growing up with a father who was a body shop repair man, I always had salvaged titled cars that he repaired and maintained for me. Moving to TN and experiencing my first wreck in 2019, I found Nelson Mazda by word of mouth and had a fantastic experience on my own buying a verified preowned 2011 Mazda 3. Nelson was straightforward and stayed in my budget. That sweet car served me well until another unfortunate accident in 2024. At this point in my life, I knew I had the ability to buy new and did a 3 week extensive search shopping at most of the popular dealers in Nashville/Franklin. I first started at Mazda and after I almost moved forward with something else and felt in my gut it didn't make sense financially, returned to Mazda. I felt so much peace and ease staying in the Mazda family - especially with the Nelson team - after going out and seeing how shady and demoralizing other places can be. I also couldn't get myself to move out of the Mazda 3 and ended up staying with it and buying a 2025 Mazda 3 only this time in my favorite color - their beautiful soul red. I am 9 months in and absolutely love my car, she just did her first road trip up through Indiana to Michigan and back (1,600 miles) and is so fun to drive. I am here today for my second service appt. and they have been tremendously helpful with any support I have needed. The red paint is thinner so I either hand wash my car myself or pay to have it hand washed. Nelson does offer free car washes to all its customers, which is an awesome perk. It has chipped some in the front, so I wish I had paid for the PPF coating - I had went somewhere else for a ceramic paint protection and not sure it was as effective. I live in Indiana and we opted to make the drive to Tennessee because NO ONE could beat their price and once I started the process (online) I almost thought it was a scam as they made it too easy for me to:) I had all the paper work done online and my bank sent a cashiers check to pay as originally we WERE going to ship it to Indiana.... Darrell actually drove 10 miles to our credit union to pick up the check for me! There are a lot of Mazda dealers from Indiana to Tennessee... so that should tell you something. Great experience buying our car but oil changes and maintenance constantly requires taking half a day off work. I am now going on 4 hours waiting for an oil change and I am livid because there was a recall that required an additional hour. Never once was I offered a shuttle or a loaner until I complained about missing work 2.5 hours into my wait. I had my new insurance policy but no proof of current policy so I can't loan a car. Beware! You are much better going to a trusted Jiffy Lube or Valvoline if you value your time. If your car has a recall, be prepared with insurance proof and ask immediately for a loaner car. I am livid and will not be coming here again for oil changes. An oil change is an oil change. I don't need a long video showing my technician explaining my oil change, just change it and let me get to work. Who has time for this??? read more

Came in for some maintenance, found out my tires were in really bad shape and I couldn't drive my car until the part they ordered was delivered. Thanks to Drew in the service department, this whole process was so simple. He updated me while I was waiting, was super personable, and made it so I could have a brand new loaner car while we waited for the parts needed to ship. He also ended up finding and giving me a 15% discount on my tire. Genuinely the best experience I've ever had at a dealership. You can tell he's very knowledgeable about what he does but doesn't use it in any way to deceive customers like most dealerships do. Bought a new 2021 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring. A 20 some months later the transmission failed at 22,000 miles and was replaced with a rebuilt. Covered by warranty but took 2 months to get car repaired and delivered. Seven months later the second transmission is failing, humming and bumping. Told unsafe to drive and part may be available January 2024. We haven't seen the car in months as it sits outside on their lot useless and depreciating. Told doesn't qualify as Tennessee Lemon Law because all of this didn't happen in the first year of ownership. We definitely feel dissatisfied and disappointed. read more

The whole thing only took an hour, and at the 45 minute mark I was sent a video showing an employee going through the service of my car, pointing out and explaining everything they had done and checked on. Arrived to test drive a "certified" pre-owned Mazda CX-5. To be fair, the rep I was working with was very nice and helpful. That being said, he assured me that they did a thorough 160-point inspection on these cars. This was not unimportant as my son would be driving it in a year. Strangely, the battery on the "certified" car was dead. It feels like a battery would be easy to test. I hate to speculate on what other more critical components got a green light on the "160-point detailed inspection." My girlfriend and daughter and I arrived at Nelson Mazda in cool springs to look for a new vehicle for myself. Absolutely no one came out to even say hi to us after we had been there for at least 20 minutes walking around. I'm going to guess it's bc we are an obviously lesbian couple bc a straight couple came in after us and got an immediate greeting. This place wasn't busy, and my money is just as green. A terrible, horrible thing happened to me. My neighbor crashed into my parked car and totaled it. Oh, the stupidity! However, I took this opportunity to finally buy a car I had been eyeing--the Mazda CX-5 sport which has everything I've been wanting in a new vehicle. Nelson Mazda helped me make this fantastic purchase and I couldn't be happier. My neighbor's insurance would only pay for a rental car for me for a week while I looked at cars to purchase. In a tight pinch I contacted my friend who worked for Mazda to ask her some questions. She let me use her employee pin for a discount on the CX-5 which ended up being over $1,000 off of the car. I called in the day before I planned on stopping by and set an appointment with someone and gave them the pin number so they'd know to apply that when doing calculations for the car I wanted. When I arrived for my appointment on that momentous day I was greeted promptly, we discussed styles/colors of vehicles then I did some test driving. They did not skimp on letting me drink all around the back roads of Franklin to test it out and they covered all the features and made sure to answer any questions I had. Everyone I came in contact with that day was great. I was really nervous and didn't want to have buyer's remorse for such a large purchase but they made it easy and they covered options to cover service/maintenance as well. As I still had the rental car they even helped me arrange for someone to come get the rental so that I could drive away in my new car. Since the day I've bought that car almost a year ago I've gotten a basic inspection and oil change twice and in the service department they are also excellent. They have a waiting area and they are quick about getting your car back to you. They always set the reminder button for maintenance so it will pop back on my car when it's time and I also get reminder e-mails when it is time. Update: I traded my car in for a brand new cx-5. To say this experience has been nothing but amazing. This dealership did not cause the problems I had at Murfreesboro, yet their GM, Service Manager, Finance Team, and Sales Managers were able to rectify everything. They turned my distrust for the company into a lasting trusting relationship. I personally will not shop for another car anywhere else. Every single employee here should be praised for their professionalism, class, and their ability to have open communication about the purchase and leasing process. I felt so blessed by my purchase at this dealer and the staff was always nice every time I went back. My Mazda 6 drove and handled better than any previous car I had owned. Mazda Financial is top notch. One major problem that I experienced though is stereo. I traded this car on for a brand new Honda and same thing is occurring. I am a single woman in Middle TN. This is NOT the only type of hack I have heard of from single women in the area. I have had very sexual content/harassment come thru stereo and it replaces standard FM stations. I thought was phone but I haven't attached new phone to Honda and it is also occurring. Haven't connected Sirius either. My belief is this is via satellite however the hacker pegs the person possibly via phone first. Other stalker hacking I have witnessed....many women have had phone problems. One friend claimed drugged and raped by security installer, other woman in court claimed stalked by home security system. Was it the ex?, other woman stalked by devices. I have called 5 times and have left my number so that I can speak to the service supervisor. The kids working in the service department don't know anything. I was looking to buy a hardtop(removable) for my 2012 miata nc. I was told they didn't have a roof technician who could LITERALLY BOLT IT ON. When I made them aware it wasn't a power retractable hardtop they just laughed and said "we don't sell hardtops". Meanwhile I have spoken to 4 dealerships outside of the state who could ship one to my local dealership. I still have not been contacted by the supervisors. Nor do I trust that letting a bunch of undertrained and uninformed children could install a 4000$ hardtop that requires a mad total of a hand of bolts. Short version, unless you wanna be swindled or talk to people who don't even know about their manufactured branded vehicles. Go elsewhere. When we arrived, no one seemed interested in asking if we needed help or why we were there. We had to wait in line at a counter where the receptionist was and eventually were able to tell someone we had an appointment. Based on our email exchange, I thought our appointment was with someone named Ashley. When we inquired, we were somewhat rudely told that was not the case and someone else would be with us. Eventually, another salesman introduced himself and got some information, etc. I did not find it enjoyable or productive to be asked for an id and insurance information before ever seeing any vehicles. After driving and inspecting the used suv we were interested in, there were a few issues we asked about, as the car was priced higher than similar models we had looked at and we had not expected any problems. The salesman told us the price was the price and no allowances would be made. I asked him to check anyway, as I was ready to make a cash purchase on the spot (granted, it was $20,000 and maybe not the big sale they were looking for). He reiterated again he would ask but nothing would change. After a short time he returned and said no allowances would be considered. I then told him we would give it consideration but would probably go with one of the others we were looking at. Not only did they lose an instant sale, they lost our consideration of Nelson Mazda for any of our family's other vehicle purchases. I truly felt the attitude at Nelson was that the company was doing us a favor by letting us buy a vehicle. Sorry, that's just not appealing to me. read more

I came to Nelson Mazda on an unrelated matter and during their inspection of my Mazda MX5, they told me I had a leaking seal around my propeller shaft (basically the transmission end of the driveshaft). I refused the service and checked it myself when I got home. There was no real leakage around the seal and I had just renewed the fluid myself just before the visit. Today, almost a year later, I elevated the car on jack stands making sure the car was level. I still could not see any real leakage (very miniscule film on the seal which I deem inevitable as no rubber seal is 100% perfect and the shaft must revolve inside the seal). When I removed the fill bolt, I got a few drops of transmission fluid which indicates the transmission is still completely full after 1 year. The inescapable conclusion is that an expensive recommended repair was totally bogus! I will never patronize Nelson Mazda in the future as it is clear to me that they are not being honest with their customers and will try to upsell you with totally unnecessary work. read more

I'm shocked to read all the great reviews because that was not my experience at all. Perhaps having a last name like Garcia hindered my experience. This is my 3rd Mazda I've owned, I've NEVER had an issue, until I did. My car broke down and I had it towed to Coolsprings Nelson Mazda. When I called I immediately spoke with someone in service that said I could tow my car in and would not have to accompany my vehicle. After several calls and leaving several messages I finally received a voice message stating they had my car. Then the next day I received a text (I attached photos) that said I could respond there, which I did on 1/3, 1/5 and 1/10 (while calling everyday) I couldn't even get a status, the link never updated. On 1/10 I finally got through to someone who said it was not the battery they had changed it and they would not charge me due to the poor communication and how long they had my car, and they didn't know what was wrong with the car. Then on 1/10 after my text about bringing my Mazda to a Mazda dealership and not knowing what's going on, I received a call in which I was told a battery was on order, and someone would call me the following day (they previously said the battery was changed, but now it's on order, btw no one called me back). I finally was fed up and my daughter took over calling, demanding answers or at least a loner car. She was then told that it might be the key FOB and they would not charge due to the lack of customer support we received. Finally on 1/17 I received a video that it was the battery and the key fob, but that's not the worst of it. When we went to pick up the car, I was charged $700 for a battery and a new key fob that we were told would be taken care of. No apologies, no concessions (as promised). The lack of disregard for my time, and money has made me so upset that not only would I not go back to coolsprings Nelson Mazda, I will no longer continue to buy Mazda vehicles period. test drove a vehicle yesterday at the dealership. liked it and wanted to make a deal. they use market based pricing their price is the price based on blue book. was a little high but wanted to have an appraisal done on our vehicle. I had previously filled out paperwork on line and received a figure in line with the blue book. unfortunately they didn't like that. It was okay for them but not us. Their appraisal was well below what I was given on line. I was now a victim of the old bait and switch. a good negotiation is when both parties feel they got something but in this case the buyer gets nothing. Ironically later in the day the price on the vehicle was lowered. I had to put gas in the vehicle and when I asked to be reimbursed was told they had no petty cash or any cash in the building and they would have to send me a check. should have read the reviews first. funny how the same dealership in murfreesboro is also loaded with bad reviews. my suggestion would be to run from this business. read more
