Super yummy and vibey pizza spot in the Arts district!…read more I've had this place saved for the longest time and I'm so happy I got to try. The pizza, salad, and whipped eggplant were all so yummy and perfectly paired with the Prosecco we got. Tables are a bit small but they brought over a stool to fit our pizza on! Cute interior and a great place for a small or large group :)

I was very disappointed with my experience at De La Nonna…read more The ambiance is the one bright spot -- I'd give it a 5/5. The space is beautiful and has a great vibe. Unfortunately, the food and service were closer to a 2/5. The best thing I ordered was the tuna tartare, which I'd rate a 4/5. However, the bread served with it was awful. It tasted like cardboard, and I honestly had to spit it out because it was so unpleasant. The pizza was extremely underwhelming. I don't understand why Instagram keeps hyping this place as having some of the best pizza in LA. It absolutely did not live up to the hype. I'd give the pizza a 3/5 at best. The Caesar salad was also disappointing. The dressing tasted like it came straight from a bottle, and the crushed croutons added nothing but an odd texture. The romaine and kale did not taste fresh to me. The oysters also did not taste fresh to me, which made them difficult to enjoy. Service was equally frustrating. The waitress told me to grab a bottle of Grattamacco Chianti 2022 from the fridge myself, only for it not to be there. When I finally got the wine, the bartender served it in a regular water glass. I had to ask for an actual wine glass. It was also unclear that you need to order through the bartender. Overall, the atmosphere is great, but that's where the positives end. Between the mediocre food, ingredients that did not taste fresh to me, and disorganized service, I left wondering what all the hype was about. Based on my experience, I would not return.

Definitely cool to try but not my personal favorite. - Insalata mista (5/5): a delicious, large salad that was flavorful, refreshing, and just the perfect pairing for the other dishes we ordered. My gf and I both loved this and were so glad we ordered it! - Spicy salame calabrese tartufato pizza (4.5/5): The truffle honey in this was very light but we still loved the flavors in this pizza. Overall (5/5): My gf and I love coming for their happy hour. Vibes are nice, service is friendly, and food is great!

Initially we were going to…read moretry De La Nonna, but they were closed for a special event and we didn't know when we showed up. In the same vein, we stuck with a similar style of food and ended up at Propaganda. There was little to no wait, which was pleasant. It was a nice day and we decided to eat outside. The focaccia bread and salad came out first, and both were good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread, though my only qualms were that the bread was quite oily and the butter and salt were just a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Insalata Mista salad was solid. Good flavor, good dressing-to-salad ratio, and a surprisingly good portion size. As far as pizza goes, the Margherita was good. Tasty, moist, and a nice crunch on the crust. I found it to be enjoyable, though I may have enjoyed more fresh basil on this. I did find it better than the Boscaiola. I got the black truffle honey add on, and it does not go well on this pizza in my opinion. There was virtually no taste of truffle to me, and more of just an aftertaste of oily sweet honey. This was a miss. It's hard to say whether the base pizza was good without it because the flavor profile was just too overpowered by the aftertaste. The Arts District is definitely coming up with new upscale dining establishments, and I'm there for it. I think this is a solid addition. Though this is a wine bar, I don't generally drink, so my review is based purely on the food. Results of their drinks, which is quite an extensive list, may be to your liking! They do have an inexpensive three wine flight, for reference!

Food: - Sicilian: THIS was the winner of the evening! The sauce, mozz, ricotta, and pesto all came together to make a really tasty bite. The edges of the crust were nice and crispy, and you can taste the toasted cheese on the edges of the crust. SO good. We both decided that this was the best flavor of the night. I've had this same pizza at several other spots in LA, but Prime Pizza really executed it well here. So well balanced in textures and flavors, and the crust was both nicely crispy on the edges and fluffy in the center! - Spicy Pep: Solid pizza, and we LOVE when pizza places use cuppy pepperoni. It was a bit spicier than expected, so be prepared to *actually* taste the heat when you order this one! It's tasty and the crust for this one was also banger, but (IMO) pales in comparison to the Sicilian. Would gladly come again for the Sicilian!

It's thick, doughy, with the perfect amount of crisp and chew, with a beautifully rich peppery sauce on top. No one I've given a slice to could even tell it was gluten free. I just can't get over how it's this good. It's so good I don't even want to know what's in it. I need this in my life. All I know is I've got a mild gluten, milk (mozz ok), and egg allergy and I've never gotten sick here. And it's consistent, every time. I need them to start a subscription service or something I'm getting seriously addicted. Oh and bring a friend or save some for later because this one doesn't come by the slice. Depending on your avarice that may be a plus.

I finally went back and tried one of their vegan pastas I hadn't tried before, and there was meat in it (pancetta). I literally am feeling sick to my stomach--I'm pescatarian + non-dairy and stopped eating meat in 2013 so I'm sure you can imagine. The customer service was amazing and the cashier who helped me, Melissa, was so apologetic and sweet (obviously wasn't her fault), but this is just another warning to anyone who is vegan and considers coming here. I also came when they were about to close and already had to wait like 15min longer than they said so there's not even anything else open this late for me to find other food. Very disappointing and I will not be coming back for good this time. If I could give separate stars for customer service, I would give them 5 stars but this was unacceptable on the cook's part. Do not risk it if you are vegan.
