The Nepalese fried chicken momos are a solid appetizer. When it comes to the entrées, sharing with friends is part of the experience, so we usually go for a mix of lamb korma and chicken dishes. You can't go wrong with either the butter chicken or the chicken tikka masala, though my personal favorite is the butter chicken (medium spice level). It's served with a side of white rice, but you have to order their fresh garlic naan on the side--it takes everything to the next level. Had an excellent meal here today. The chicken chili mo mo was insane, the naan was cooked perfectly, the curries were delicious. I had an amazing Masala chai and a really delicious mango desert! The man who seated us, took our order, and brought our food was so kind and helpful and welcoming. The restaurant is clean and pretty with nice table cloths and cloth napkins. Came for dinner on a Saturday night and had a great meal. We had a reservation, but there were plenty of tables available, but the space itself is not that large. We ordered the fried veggie chili momos, steamed chicken momos and lamb chili masala with aloo paratha. Everything was delicious and we left feeling very full. The food was so tasty, lots of options for vegetarians. The garlic naan was great and the paneer was amazing, i would recommend it if you like spinach! The service wasn't amazing unfortunetly, though. We did have a large party of 10 people right in the middle of the small restaurant and i understand that they can be hard to manage but we were there for 2 hours! What a great meal. We were in the south loop craving Indian food, and wondered if a place called Nepal House would cut it. It did! I'll start with the fried momo, an item on the menu that fell under "Traditional Nepal Appetizers." It's fried Asian buns, tossed in a sweet and sour sauce. Usually, sweet and sour sauce goes with chicken or pork...but in this case, it was buns! Very interesting and very good. The curry dishes were all delicious, but a bit on the oilier side. I guess that's okay given the cuisine. We ordered the palak paneer, the lamb curry, the curry vindaloo, and the chicken tikka masala. I have to remark that the ingredients were all very high quality. The chicken was large cubes of white breast meat. The lamb was tender and high quality as well. The chicken tikka masala was on the very sweet side, which I enjoyed. Some people may not be a fan, but it was delicious and a little different. The naan and the roti were both excellent as well. One complaint is that I asked for two of my dishes to be spicy, and they clearly weren't cooked spicy at all. There's also an online discount code that they weren't able to offer over the phone, so I had to end the call and place the order online (small gripe, I know). read more

We stumbled upon this spot after a beautiful day at the Shedd Aquarium (it was about a 15-20 minute walk). We were seated right away, the service was great, good was served quickly and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. We appreciated that spice levels were carefully considered, and found they were exactly what we'd asked for when the food came out. I stuck with the Nepalese items on the menu (forgive me -- I can't remember what they were called but) -- one was a lamb appetizer and the other was a veggie entree with potatoes and bamboo shoots. I would order both again in a heartbeat! The other people in my group ordered standard Indian favorites (vindaloo and Tikka, etc). Everyone was very happy with their meal -- we were still talking about it a few days later. We'll definitely come back the next time we're on the museum campus in Chicago. In the mood for something exotic, I ordered the lamb choela, a sort of Nepalese barbeque. The owner recommended against it because it's dry and pickled, something which only Nepalese people would like. Undaunted, I tried it anyways, and it was pretty good! Definitely very salty, a bit sour, fairly spicy, and with lots of ginger. Served with the meat was a type of fried dough in tiny cylinders, and a cornflake-looking thing that the owner said was a type of rice. The fried dough was very tasty, although the rice was too chewy for my taste, and didn't have much flavor. The owner gave me a free mango lassi as a gift, and we had a nice chat about our immigrant histories. If you're in the mood for something new, come try the choela (Nepali barbeque) and you won't regret it. If not, this restaurant has tons of more traditional Indian/Nepali food on the menu as well. read more

Also loved the generous amount of naan that came with it, it was delicious, especially the garlic naan. The staff was also super friendly and even provided us with a dessert on the house! After recently moving to the area I've been looking for a go to Indian/Nepalese restaurant nearby. I tried a few dishes to get a feel for flavors. Overall the food was just okay. Onion bhaji pakora - Too much turmeric, batter too thick and lukewarm when brought to the table. Vegetable samosa - Good flavors, temperature and spice. Baigan bharta - Star of the dinner. Great spice and flavors. No complaints. Bhindi masala - Huge disappointment. Way too much oil, masala flavors and gravy not developed and very little heat. This won't be my go to, in fact, I doubt I'll return. The food was just good enough but seriously lacking in flavor and technique. read more

WOW! I've ordered takeout from here several times and the food is always amazing. Absolutely love the chicken tikka, garlic naan, and vegetable steamed momo. On my most recent visit I ordered the shrimp chow mein that was so delicious and perfectly spicy.
