I liked the results from my first blonding appt so I had to return for a touch up! the ambiance was exquisite and relaxing. we caught up as chill r&b played in the background. I appreciate how cindy is very kind and educative, she will explain the haircare details and her process, and will make sure you understand too. they use high quality products and tools on your hair. she keeps your needs and hair type in mind, as well as the vitality and longevity of bleached hair. she took her time throughout the service and was mindful and acknowledging. cindy takes pride in her work and I really do think she backs it up with her experience and results. her blending technique and attention to detail for dark asian hair is excellent. I booked an appointment with Cindy about a month in advance after seeing great reviews and that she specializes in blonde transformations. I'm very picky with my hair and have been blonde for over a decade, so finding a reliable stylist in the Bay after moving from OC was important to me. Unfortunately, the scheduling process was frustrating. The website was confusing if you don't know the exact service names and kept logging me out, so I had to restart multiple times. Communication was also difficult,I had to follow up more than once and even call just to confirm my appointment. The day before, I was told Cindy had an emergency and needed to reschedule. I understand things happen, but I had seen similar reviews mentioning cancellations. We rescheduled, but I ended up getting sick and had to cancel. Getting my deposit back required multiple follow-ups, and I was initially refunded the wrong amount, which I had to correct. They were really apologetic which I appreciated. I can't speak to the actual quality of the hair services, but from a scheduling and communication standpoint, it was a hassle. Since I know I'll need consistent, ongoing appointments as a blonde, I'm really looking for somewhere with easy, reliable booking. I walked in to ask about possibly doing a consultation and was given the number to the salons owner(I think). She then connected me to the best hair stylist I ever met, Kimberly! Kimberly consulted with me over text and during my appointment. She helped me decide on what to do with my hair, taking into consideration how much maintenance and money I wanted to take into account overtime. Service was terrible. When you enter the salon you would think it's a restaurant cos the first thing you see is a table with employees dining. The place stinks of food. Service is bad for the price they charge. As a client I wasn't even offered water. Was told to take a seat while the receptionist went back to eating with the rest of the team. Shampooing doesn't come with a head massage, ok whatever. My hairstylist fingers stink from eating. She probably washed her hands but didn't wash it well. Another hairstylist was wearing sleeveless and had black pits right in the clients face. The fundamental service is just lacking here for the price they charge. I had a horrible experience here. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00 AM, and I arrived on time. I waited almost 50 minutes before my stylist, Julie, walked in around 12:00 PM. She said that was the time she was told my appointment was, which already put things off to a bad start. I asked for a balayage and specifically requested something low maintenance that I wouldn't have to keep touching up every other month. I was stuck in the chair from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM, when they closed. That is 7 hours for a balayage, which is absolutely ridiculous and should never take that long. It also did not come out how I wanted it to. She didn't do a terrible job, but after seven hours of nonstop work on my hair, you would expect it to come out perfect, not just mediocre. I definitely am not happy with the results. Because I was in the salon for nearly eight hours straight, my car was towed. I expected the appointment to take 3-4 hours at most, so this made an already horrible day even worse. I watched multiple clients who had appointments before and after me leave while I was still sitting there. I was the last person in the chair when the salon closed. I was kind and patient the entire time and tried to be understanding, but at the end of the day, this was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I wasted my whole Saturday for a mediocre haircut and color. I really do not recommend coming here. Don't disappoint yourself go somewhere else. read more

I booked a balayage appointment at this salon to treat myself for my birthday and even requested the day off work for it. I've previously seen Priscilla here three different times and always loved my results. Unfortunately, she wasn't available this time, so I scheduled with Cindy L. for 8:30 AM. The day before my appointment, my request was still showing as pending through Vagaro, so I called the salon to confirm. A staff member answered and assured me that my appointment with Cindy L. for the following morning was confirmed. The next morning, I checked my email again just to verify the time before heading out. That's when I noticed an email from Vagaro saying that both the time AND the stylist had been changed -without my knowledge or consent. I reached out and was told I had been moved to another stylist's schedule. The stylist I was switched to, Kimberly, appeared to be new to the salon. I hadn't seen her work before and she had no reviews yet. It honestly felt like my appointment had been reassigned to help fill bookings for a newer stylist. Looking at her portfolio, I also didn't see much experience with blonding compared to Cindy's work, which made me uncomfortable since balayage requires a lot of skill. I asked if I could keep my original appointment with Cindy that morning, but was told she was no longer available. My only options were to keep the appointment with Kimberly or come back the next day to see Cindy. Unfortunately, I work full-time and had specifically taken that day off for this appointment, so coming back another day wasn't possible. Because it was my birthday and I had been looking forward to getting my hair done, I reluctantly agreed to keep the appointment with Kimberly. I texted her to let her know I was on my way. When I arrived, the salon door was locked and no one answered. I waited outside for about 15 minutes and never received a response to my text, so I eventually had to leave. To make matters worse, I still haven't received a refund for the deposit, even though the situation was entirely due to the salon changing my appointment and failing to show up. I was able to get the ashy brown color and cut I requested and I loved her blowout style :) I have to give 4 stars because our appointment started 35 minutes late. I understand clients run longer than expected, but any appointment -- whether it's for hair, nails, doctor's, reservations, etc -- that starts over half an hour late is pretty drastic. Plus, if the tables were turned, I'd have to pay a deposit and forfeit my appointment. Therefore, I think it's fair to give 4 stars. I booked a haircut appointment and added a note that I wanted a bob haircut. On the day of my appointment, they seated me in a chair and the specialist came over to ask what I wanted. I said I wanted a bob haircut. She brushed my hair, then disappeared for about 10-15 minutes. When she came back, she told me she does not specialize in haircuts. I asked if someone else could do it, and she said unfortunately not that day, maybe Monday or the next day with another specialist. She then offered me a discount -- instead of $120, she said I would be charged $85. I agreed, though it was strange because the appointment system had shown $95. When I asked, she explained that different specialists charge differently. On my way home, I called their number to say how disappointed I was. The person on the phone told me that instead of $115, they would charge $85 and also give me some products for the inconvenience. I shared photos of my current hair so they could confirm whether the style could be done the next day. They texted me back confirming it was possible. The next day I returned, and this time it was with Jessica. I waited 5-10 minutes before she came to me. She seemed confident and I thought it would go well. But when she finished, my hair looked messy and unfinished -- not something I could walk out in public with. My hair is thick, but every time I've had it cut in the past, it's been well-organized and neatly straightened. Since it looked unpolished, I asked Jessica if she could straighten it. She reacted as though my request was unreasonable. She straightened it very quickly and lightly, leaving half my hair untouched . When I pointed out that part of it was left out, she tried to pass over it but then abruptly stopped and said, "I'll meet you at the front desk." I left unsatisfied. My hair looked messy and the products I was promised for the inconvenience were never offered to me. Yes, I paid less than originally quoted, but I would have rather paid double the price for a proper haircut. The whole experience -- from the wasted time, to the pricing confusion, to the poor service and dismissive attitude -- was awful. I originally came because of the great reviews, but maybe those are only about one stylist (Stephanie). I am never going back to this salon, and do not recommend it if you want a bob haircut. read more

Also, I noticed that negative Google reviews for this salon seem to disappear(?) which feels concerning. Edit: I did not deny the appointment because of a strand test, I was open to any color. I denied the appointment because Cindy had assured me she would be ready to take me the next day and passed me onto someone without even asking. Before the strand test she had already passed me onto someone else. Cindy changed my appointment without acknowledging that she wasn't able to keep her word.
