This is my second time getting at haircut from Carol and can't express how thoughtful she is when cutting your hair. Most places I've gone to usually just ask me what type of haircut and just start trimming away. But with Carol, she makes sure that it's the length you want by showing you before she cuts, and then cutting a small section and showing you again to make sure it's the length you want. I did a walk in on a Saturday morning, about 30 minutes after they opened, and was luckily the first customer. More customers started coming in shortly after me so definitely recommend calling in advance and booking an appointment to avoid waiting. I came in just for a quick trim and loved the result! Where have you've been all my life Carol! My old place closed during Covid so I've been trying to find a new place that doesn't over charge you. Frankly I have 1 hair style for 20 years and it's ok, I like things simple. My hair is super thin so it's good and bad. The good is that it "SHOULD" be easier and faster to cut. But it's also easy to tell if the cut is bad. Carol knew exactly what I wanted and checked a few times to make sure the length she's cutting is what I wanted. In 20 min (feels short) my hair came out perfect. She didn't dry my hair by pulling w/ a curling brush like other places & she didn't razor my bangs so nothing hurts. After ironing my hair she told me because my hair is so thin don't flat iron the top portion else it'll look too flat. Great advice! I've been doing it wrong all these years. Honestly. It's not a bad place to come in between haircuts to get a trim, but be warned. A trim isn't 1/2 an inch or 2 inches. I got 5 - 6 inches chopped off. Yes my hair is healthier, but like I was trying to grow out my hair. Jimmy ended up washing and cutting my hair. I think the cut is good, but it was very rushed and he only blow dried my hair slightly and I had to ask him to completely dry it. Hmm...I'm not as satisfied with my second haircut. The service, price, and experience were great, but the finished product is 'meh'. It's just okay--a bit messy and uneven in the front. The back looks good. I think the way the hair was cut is maybe not right for my hair texture, but I also didn't give him super specific instructions, so I'm not upset. If you have a specific style or way of cutting you're looking for, I bet they can work with you on it. It seems like they tend to thin out hair when you ask for layers (because their typical clientele probably have more thick hair than I do--mine is very fine), so if you already have thin hair, this can actually work against you. I like more volume in my hair, and I didn't mention this, so I will bring it up next time I go for a cut. The gentleman also told me "if you don't like it, come back and I'll fix it for you no problem" but I'll just let it grow out a bit before messing with it more. I may come back when my hair is longer for a trim, since they are quite kind and the haircuts are very affordable. read more

What a find this place is! I recently had a disastrous salon experience that left my dark brown hair fried with bleach and stripey (not at all the look I was going for). Because of this, I found myself pretty distrustful of hair stylists, but I hated my hair so much that I wanted to get rid of as much of the damage as possible. I decided to go with Shavonne because of the great reviews, and I'm SO glad I did! Jimmy was my stylist. He's very nice and made good small talk without being too inquisitorial, but the most impressive thing was his experience level. Not only did he do a great job cutting my hair, but I was chopping off quite a bit of length, and he confirmed with me multiple times before he hacked my hair off that it was what I wanted, even doing a test patch. After he was done, he asked me again if I was happy with it and assured me that he would go shorter if I wanted. My most recent salon experience had been the absolute polar opposite, so I can't even express how much I appreciated the thoughtfulness he put into his work. He clearly takes a lot of pride in what he does and genuinely wants his customers to be happy. She definitely listened to what I had to say about what I wanted, and asked me questions about it later. After the haircut, she showed me the back length and asked if I wanted it shorter - normally I would have just said "its fine" but I felt comfortable enough asking her to redo it to be shorter. The lady happily obliged. At first she was really talkative and asking me questions, but after realizing that I was kinda tired and stressed out from work, she just let me be while smiling and cutting my hair.
