I believe that Eugene is probably very helpful for some (mostly male) clients. I'm stunned today by how much worse I feel and how I keep blaming myself for allowing him to handle my body the way he did. When I protested he actually said "this is your fault" and that I just needed to relax. I don't think he means to be harmful but I find it alarming that he is treating first time female clients this way. I'm left ruminating about all the moments I knew it was hurting me but told myself I was wrong. Many times it was actually Eugene telling me I was wrong. I'd hoped somehow I would feel better today and it would've been worth it. Yikes. A real reminder to always trust my body.

I told him to stop and it was too much. I told him he was torturing me and he said he knew he was torturing me but it was necessary. I cried multiple times and said it hurt and told him it felt like something was going to tear. He said, "ha, you know how much it strength it would take to tear?" as if to dismiss my pain and what I was feeling. I felt helpless. He was not listening to me. I was struggling to get my arm back into a less painful position and he held it down, not permitting me to move and kept saying, no no no it's ok....relax. He justified the pain and said I needed it. I can actually take a lot of pain. I've had several bodyworkers tell me I can handle a lot, and that I can handle pressure that makes grown men cry... But this man working on my injured shoulder was something else. I never experienced torture before. This was the closest feeling to torture that I have ever been through. When he worked on my neck it freaked me out because he would be working on my arm then quite suddenly wring his hands around my neck, putting intense pressure on it. It was almost as if he was getting a kick out of startling me and making me feel like he was going to choke me. There is NO reason to so abruptly wring your hands around someone's neck like that. This is not normal people. He is not normal. As noted by the previous reviewer, Molly, he kept telling me I was a strong, independent woman. In addition, he told me I was a disgrace regarding certain topics he wanted to discuss, topics completely irrelevant to body work. 60-something reviews is not a lot and can't be trusted. Hopefully, more people will leave their honest review if it was similar to my experience.

After my first session with Laura my hip pain decreased by over 50% and quite literally stopped bothering me constantly. It was like a miracle. The next session Laura worked on my neck and traps ... wow. I haven't been able to fully rotate my neck this way since 2016 Laura is a true professional. She understands the body and she doesn't need to cause pain in order to alleviate pain. I'm so grateful to her. She is worth every penny.

A friend of mine suggested going to a medical massage therapist, and when I mentioned this to my doctor, he thought it would be a good idea as well. Laura was amazing! She quickly found the extremely tight muscles in my calves that were affecting my foot and causing the pain. After one session, I felt so much better. I continued going weekly for about one and a half months. She would give me "homework assignments" which I would do and report back. This helped her know where and what types of massage therapy would work the best for this injury. I moved to every other week for a few weeks. But, then, there was no pain! My foot was healed. I'm back to my regular exercise with no issues! The only problem is that I really enjoyed visiting her! She is such a great person. I miss her.

I've waited to post this review because honestly, it's been a bit of an emotional roller coaster…read moresince I was in a bad car accident in 2015 on my way to work. In a nut shell, It was early am and I was hit hard and fast on the passenger of a small compact by a Ford 250 that ran the red. This sent me (instantly totaled) into opposing traffic which, thank you all that is good and great, had stopped. Fast forward to the beginning of this year (having gone to innumerable places that hadn't really worked or dig the the core of the pain) still dealing with Worker's Comp and while some things have mildly relieved pain temporarily, nothing has been as effective on a long term basis (instead of hours) than being adjusted by Ben Sanchez (and Chloe) A dear friend had recommended I go to see Ben and his assistant Chloe. Desperately trying to find a way to not feel crunched up in my left hip anymore and also relieve the 3rd lumbar which has been a quarter inch out (this area affects digestion, and a number of other things in your system) I made the appointment. I arrived in Beachwood Canyon area and easily parked (morning appointments make this easy) and went in. In the the center of the room is a 30" massage table and 2 healers that unquestionably are here to help us realize we do not have to suffer the indignities of judgements by doctors that tell you imperiously, "well, you won't get better, you have a chronic condition." Ben set to work guiding me through specific breathing techniques as well as explaining, in detail, each thing he was about to do and what it was connected to. It was a cross between mesmerizing and physically challenging my ability to truly let go of this long term pain. By the time Chloe (Ben's assistant) and Ben both gave me the adjustments, it affected me not only physically as I could feel release for the first time in years as well as it affecting me psychologically. Anyone taking the time to read to here understands this well and is probably as seriously injured as I have been. To explain, I was being adjusted (or spiritually exorcized to our wit bluntly) in a way that felt like the condition of pain I'd learned to adjust to was being lifted away. I was having a deep experience that is traditionally described as a "mind, body, spirit" connection. It was (and still is) such an intense healing energy when one has both male and female energies working together. Chloe, Bens assistant, is very instinctual and brings a maternal energy to this unified effort of "rebirthing" you into your own perfect body. I kept it in the background until I was having weird hip, and just in general right side pain because as my daughter got bigger I had to get into a weird position and hold it for a long time. I got an appointment with Trevor (good Yelp and google reviews). He was very kind, and if you're first client of the day he's chatty which helped me relax. He explains all about what he's going with finding places and holding them for 2 minutes or more and gives all kinds of tips and tricks for at home. After the first time I was sore, but took his advice and did an epsom salt bath and lots of water. I came a week later and since then I haven't had any pain! I'm sleeping better (when baby allows) and I'm sending everyone I know who has pain to Trevor.

My pain was so severe I could no longer function independently in daily life. A year before meeting Raj I had experienced, which I now know was, very aggressive trigger point therapy. It gave me results but not long lasting. Near the one year mark of using this method there were days I was in so much pain I could not trigger myself.
