I was looking around for someone to install rolling shutters/screens on my back patio. After a few companies came by to give me quotes and talk about the screen, I decided decided to go with Rick. This review is long overdue. I've been working with Rick at Nevada Shutter & Blinds for over 5 years. I first hear of his business from my handyman back in 2019. Rick came that very week to give me a quote for about 30 windows in a 3,000 square foot house and I thought it was a great deal. The shutters arrived sooner than expected which has been the case with every order I've placed... no complaints here. Rick has always been honest with me about pricing and is very straight forward with his recommendations. I also love that out of every quote I've ever gotten his prices are the most affordable. I also had Rick come out in 2023 to give me a quote for shutters in my new home and again he had the best price in town. My most recent project this year was a small condo and I was going to go with woven blinds and he strongly suggested I not do that. He said the woven blinds would easily damage with the desert heat and that they were way more expensive than the shutters. I thought about it and after getting a very expensive quote from Home Depot for about $7,800 for woven blinds, I decided to go with Rick and pay way less for either blinds or shutters. Rick gave me a very reasonable quote for woven blinds but I knew the better value would be to go for the shutters and so I did. Overall I like that Rick is a great communicator and if there is any issue with arrival time, he will always let you know and answers texts right away. I keep hiring him for all my window treatments because I know and trust the work he does and nobody else in town has been able to match his prices. I don't know how he affords to give those prices to his customers but he just does and his customer service and installation guy, Orlando are simply amazing! If you haven't tried Nevada Shutter & Blinds I'm sure you're overpaying and I highly recommend giving this family owned and operated company a try! This place is an absolute joke. Didn't even get an appointment done, as the owner was a no show. Rick, the owner, scheduled an appointment with me and then he never showed up. When I called to check in he said he never wrote the appointment down. He also asked me to measure the windows and email him the measurements, which I did and he never responded, and then he acted clueless like he never got the email? Rick came over to my house, I explained to him what I wanted for my window coverings. Rick was not pleasant, I got the impression that he did not want to be at my house to make an effort on a sale. He came, we spoke about shutters for the downstairs and for one particular area he was trying to sell me window shades for my doors. I explained to him that is not what I want for my doors and I had asked him about blinds, asked if he had samples in his car that I can see. He indicated he did but never retrieved them. His arrival was approx. 4pm on a Friday...he did not want to be bothered of writing up an estimate so he said he will send it via email. I said it was fine. Still have not received any estimate. Word of mouth about this company is powerful but posting it online is compelling. Bottomline, if you did not want to be bother on a Friday afternoon then you should not have committed to the scheduled timeframe. We live in a 24hour town and just because you are 9-5 it means others are too who work and if you want to make a sale then you should accommodate.
