This is the best pizza in MD...period! I am a pizza connoisseur! I have officially crowned myself. After 20 years ago when I was dating my current husband, he took me here to get pizza since he lived around the corner at the time. I have been getting pizza from this place ever since. Once they forgot to put pepperoni on the pizza (which is how I like mine) oh extra sauce and lightly baked...oh as I digress, this pizza was still delicious without the pepperoni. I am not sure what makes it so good...but it could be because the dough is so fresh. All of their food is pretty good but I prefer the pizza and French fries. Needed a bite to eat on a rainy Monday night before hitting a club a few blocks away and we were referred to this place by the bouncer at said club. It was perfect. Mind you, it's not "fast food" as they cook to order but well worth the wait, which really isn't that long. One of us had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and two had the chicken souvlaki on pita. OMG. Make sure to add on the feta. I got a taste of the buffalo chicken wrap and it was delish. They used fried chicken pieces so it's crunchy yummy deliciousness. The souvlaki pita was messy to eat but oh.so.good. The main floor of the restaurant was clean, as was the restroom. I was disappointed today by this place. On my first visit, I had the pizza which was great. I like the fact that they sell pizza by the slice and the menu has a very broad selection. I've had a burger from this place too which was good. When I got my food today, I was not happy. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, Swiss and avacado. Sounds simple right? How can you mess that up? I placed my order and went to the bathroom. By the time I was finished in the bathroom (which is clean and only available for customers) my food was "ready." It was ready in the sense that it was hot and my fries were done. I had to take the chicken patty off of the bread and I was left with a bacon Swiss avacado sandwich. Because I've eaten here before and I know the great taste that they are capable of, this is the only reason this review isn't a one star. read more

Definitely recommended for takeout, but make sure to call ahead! The wait can be quite long if you order in person and decide to wait. The wait staff is quite nice and they are very accommodating if you need to make changes or additions to your meal. I normally get a salad with crispy or grilled chicken since it's about 2 meals for me (or one huge meal if I'm starving). I've had their buffalo chicken wrap before which was messy but good (a pretty standard wrap). Today I was feeling adventurous and got the Taste of Greece meal for lunch. It was delicious! Considering they are a Greek/Italian/American restaurant, I'm not surprised their Greek cuisine was great. The pita bread was warm and tasted freshly baked, and I ate all of it at once because it was so good. The tzatziki (aka cucumber yogurt) was thick, creamy, had a hint of citrus, and was very refreshing. The Dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves with rice and beef) didn't have a strong flavor and did not taste like beef, but the grape leaves were tender and soft so I enjoyed them. The spinach pie was so delicious but definitely hard to eat! When you cut into the top part of the pastry, the whole thing smushes really easily and the spinach spills out. It tasted like spinach and garlic which was awesome. I would definitely try more of their Greek food next time. Their American food (wraps, salads, sandwiches) are great and and you get a lot of bang for your buck. read more

I had a hankering for a delicious cheesesteak and didn't know where to turn. I consulted with my old pal Google and Never On Sunday topped the list of Best Cheesesteak in the city. Full disclosure , it was also .04 miles away from my location at the time.... serendipity? I arrived expecting a line but fortunately I was next up. I ordered a well-done cheesesteak minus the hots(not a fan)The order taker or sub barista(?) was neither rude, nor cordial. I picked up my sub and sat down to eat and it was pretty good. My only complaint is the meat ratio. The ends of the subs were pretty much bread and toppings, all the meat huddled together in the middle of the bun. Oh boy! I was so excited to eat here again and write a nice review for them but it turned out to be an epic fail. Even though their service is great, and all the guys working there are supper nice and patient. Their food simply is not! It turned out to be a fun spot with loads of inebriated people looking for the exact same thing. We ordered pizza and from what I remember, it was pretty good and did it's job for us. But my second time around, my experience wasn't as pleasant. After having a glass of wine at Sugarvale (2 min walk), my friend and I got hungry and decided to grab a bite to eat. Overwhelmed by their large menu, we decided to order what they are most known for, their Gyro's. Our food looked and smelled so delicious, with sprinkles of feta cheese on top. But as I was eating, I kept complain about how the gyro meat still smelled. Without any concern though, I stupidly continued eating. After I was done I immediately felt nauseous and shortly after I had to run to the bathroom. The rest of the night I spent in my bathroom, dying. My friend went through the same thing the following morning. Unless you're looking to loose 5Lb in one night, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Beggars can't be choosers, however, I can still whine... After a night of drinking across the way at Sugarvale, we were in that post midnight slump needing a greasy food pick me up before going home. Now be reminded that we are in B'more, so not many places are open late, so you don't have many options. We walked in here around 12:30am and the place was buzzing with people. Looked like many people had the same idea as we did. We ended up ordering a whole veggie pizza pie ($18) after looking at our menu options. Now, just so you know, I am a New Yorker (and I am not being snobbish, but we do have the best pizza), so this pizza did not live up to my expectations. The pie was bland and the crust had no taste (not even salt). But like I said, beggars can't be choosers. It got the job done, but also at a hefty price. Awesome spot! I've lived in nearby Bolton Hill for roughly 5 years, so I've had Never on Sunday here and there over that time. I never really had much of an opinion on the place before, but lately, my wife and I have been ordering different versions of their grilled chicken dishes, and have really come to appreciate how consistently tasty they are. The other night it finally occurred to me to try their pizza. I used to love getting slices on the go when I lived in NYC, but I knew that I couldn't expect the same thing in Baltimore. I had tried some places in the neighborhood, but all were big disappointments. Michaelangelo's (on Read st) served me a slice that was so old the cheese didn't even melt in the oven. It was the most disgusting slice I've ever seen, and I feel lucky that I didn't get food poisoning. The slice I got from Piazza 27, down the street, had flavorless sauce and rubbery tasting mozzarella. My hopes weren't high for the pizza at Never on Sunday, but I would say without a doubt that it is the best to-go slice I've had in Baltimore. Of course, the competition isn't great, but for a pizza lover like myself, I'm happy to finally have a go-to spot nearby. Never on Sunday isn't anything fancy, hip, or novel, but I think that all of us in the Mount Vernon area are lucky to have a reliable take-out spot like this in the neighborhood. read more

It specializes in Greek fare but has all the American classics, and a damn good pizza (try the white, it's spot on). In an era of fast casual cookie cutter chains the Greek guys at the counter hearken back to another era, my favorite olive skinned, Mediterranean accented cashier always opening with "What'll it be boss?"
