I am highly upset and highly disappointed and then medication i was given wasn't a high dosage to maintain my pain ! It was very low in actuality! The day before my appt ( yesterday ) I called to verify and rep that answered INSISTED my appt was for a surgery follow-up to have stitches removed ..WHAT !!! I repeatedly told her NO as I haven't been to the office since last year. Instead of her saying let's get you set up the correct way she SAYS I could still come in but couldn't guarantee that the hygienist would be available..WHAT!!! So we end the call with no guaranty of ANYTHING. I called this morning to see if the previous rep made Any changes at all and was told the same that my appt was for a surgery follow up to have stitches removed . So the rep from the day before made no notes /no changes !!!!!! I was also I was told that the hygienist wasn't available and that she was sorry for what happened . AGAIN no offer to reschedule correctly just kept saying there was NOTHING that could be done AND THATS HOW THE CALL ENDED!!

Luckily there was no abscess or infection but he had to be referred to Dental Surgery Center of DC, Capital Childrens, 1220 Caraway Ct 1050, Largo MD 20774. I called to make the appointment and was able to get one for Monday 4/8. I was informed to get clearance from the primary doctor and neurologist. I went to Children's National Medical Center as a walk in and asked to have the forms filled out same day because my son was in pain. Normally it takes at least a week for forms. They informed me that they could fit me in later in the day and they would fill out my forms after a physical and lab work. He had recently had his annual physical but they required another to clear him for surgery and anesthesia. I went to the neurologist also at CNMC and they did me a letter same day that cleared him. I sent everything to Childrens Capital around 9:00am the day of our appointment. They would not accept the letter from the neurologist even though it said "cleared for dental procedure with anesthesia from neurology point of view" and the same day he had a physical the same day with his primary doctor. They asked if I wanted to reschedule. That was a HELL NO!! My son was uncomfortable and I had spent the entire night and morning stopping his greedy butt from eating and drinking. I told them to keep the appointment and I would work it out. I got my son dressed and jumped in the car to head back to CNMC. I looked a hot mess!! I explained my situation and the woman at the front desk was so kind. She went to the back to talk to the doctor. She came back out and told me to have a seat and they would see us. We were seen and got new paperwork. I emailed the new letter to Capital Childrens while still in the office. I called Capital Childrens from the car on the way there to ask them to check the email and let me know if the letter was acceptable. I was told I would get a call back. We arrived at the office about 30 minutes before the appointment and before I received the call back so we checked in. I was all ready for the BS!!! As a mother of a child with special needs I am so use to having to fight to get my son what he is entitled to. I am use to demanding that his voice be heard. Not being able to talk is not the same as having nothing to say!!!!! Let me take a moment to talk about Kyle. Kyle came out to greet us. I appreciate the fact that he did not only talk to me. He acknowledged us both. Kyle explained everything to us and checked on us during the entire process. Everyone was so wonderful. The surgeon and the anesthesiologist spoke to me before and after the procedure. I was allowed to hold my son's hands until he was out. Kyle checked on me while in the waiting room. I can't say enough about the experience. I am so grateful to Childrens National Medical Center and Capital Childrens Dental. The empathy, kindness and respect received is very much appreciated. We also got a call the next day from Capital Children's to see how my son was doing :-)

And you and small child just sits there for all those wasted time. When you ask them why the loooong wait, they will just say the anesthesiologist will be right with you, with no other explanation. Update: A month and half later my daughter suffers severe pain from the work they've done and our dentist wont do anything just bec. this facility has not forwarded any of the surgery paperwork to them. Talk about inefficiency!!! They don't want to even see her bec they say they just saw her a month ago even though it's their poor work which is causing my daughter's pain right now. They are verybinconsiderate and very unprofessional. AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COST!!!

No one returned my phone calls or even responded to the contact form that I completed. Here is the chain of events:August 23 filled out a contact form no response left phone messages no response August 27 finally spoke with an individual and she asked me to send in paperwork my insurance card and other info.. I did 9/8  no response 9/20 left message 3x no response 9/21 spoke with an individual that told me they would have someone call me the next day 9/22 no return phone call 9/28 left message.. no response 9/29 called 2x women picked up and was of no assistance. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told she would call me in the morning so basically the same song and dance. I sent the following email: Jasmine (supervisor), I expect a call back tomorrow morning in order to finalize my daughters care. I would like to speak with the owner of this practice since it seems that the practice manager and those at the front desk are unable to complete their jobs without me calling multiple times. Every time I call I get the run around. As a private practice owner I would not tolerate this. It does not seem as if your staff understands that they are included in the care of the patient and can make or break a practice. This is the response I received 20 minutes later with no name of the individual sending it: Thank you for your email. We apologize you have not had a great experience with us. It looks like we tried to schedule you previously and we were unable to obtain the information needed to confirm an appointment. At the time you had a client and stated you would call us back at your earliest convenience but we did not hear from you. We will send your referral back to your referring office so they can proceed with having you schedule elsewhere for care. Thank you for your time, I am sure the owners of this practice would not be happy with the "help".

When I arrived, Dr. did exam in one chair & I was sent to another chair to hygienist. Getting settled and calming down is important. I explained my position over & over again about seeing Dr., not hygienist and why I'm searching for a new dentist office. They assure me that I'd see Dr. for cleaning. I barely made it through the cleaning that seemed like 30-45 mins. My shoulder tightened up, throat was closing up and mouth was extremely dry/tired. This has never happened before. She was nice, but extremely slow. When I left, I was so shaken up, I had to go for a walk at the mall. Those who have phobia's don't need the extra's. My former Dentist was quick and good. You have to be both when dealing with special patients. First/last visit. (1 star)
