100000x YES I love this place. I've been exclusively going to 4U for over 10 years. Their facility is spotless clean, friendly, and so accommodating - especially once they get to know you. Their technicians are exceptionally trained. Ellen has been doing my nails for a long time now, and she's the best. She listens to what I'm asking for, takes her time to give me a perfect gel mani and pedi, and is so sweet. This is the old school type of nail salon where they remember things about your life and ask you about it the next time you come in. I moved out of state and still come back to have Ellen do my nails when I'm in town because no one is better, I miss my regular appointments terribly. They play wonderfully relaxing music. And their massage techs give a life-changing massage. Go see them for a service and you won't regret it. read more

This is the most outrageously priced place. $290.00 for gel fills and child nails!!! They also do a bait and switch. You ask for one thing like gel fills and get charged for whatever their most overpriced service. Went in for gel fills and one child nails and 290.00 later charged!! The gels are awful because they separate within a week!! I do not recommend this place unless want to be exploited and over charged for poor work. read more

I used to love this place. It's clean, and they used to be known for high quality work. I cannot say that anymore. Do not come here for powder gel. They must not be properly trained in the proper procedure. I usually get my nails done either near where I work or a place in Syosset. It was a Friday afternoon, and I didn't want to deal with the train traffic in Syosset. I took my mom to 4U because I figured if anyone would know powder gel, it would be them. After all, they are one of the most expensive nail salons in town. Here is a case where more expensive does not equal high quality. My mom got her powder gel done by a gentleman who glopped it on with little care. He finished her powder gel powder with a gel polish and cured it with a UV light. I was sitting next to her, and I told her to tell him to fix it. My mom then told me that he had hurt her nail bed with the drivel they use to "file down the gel" and she didn't want anymore pain. Terrible. Sue took great care in my nails. The powder gel was done thin and looked natural. However, she added a gel topcoat and cured it under UV light. I asked why. Sue told me it was to make it shiny. Indeed my nails looked great (unlike my mom's which looked awful). It was three days later that I was first able to see the error in placing a regular gel topcoat over powder gel. There were craze lines horizontally across several of my nails. It looked terrible. The real horror was in removing the polish. It took another nail place two hours to remove mine and my mother's polish. Instead of "melting" off, it came off like fake acrylic nails would: as a hard plastic nail. My nail beds were damaged. The woman who worked to remove the polish could not understand why the polish wasn't responding to the acetone. I told her about the UV gel they used at 4U. She couldn't understand why they would do that, and she believed that curing the powder gel under the UV light could have created the problem. I will never go back. If you choose 4U, be aware that they will cut corners and do shoddy work. Clearly, they treat the regulars differently. read more

Recommended by a coworker to go here for a gel manicure and I was happy I did! While the Yelp reviews are all over the place, I definitely had a positive experience. The most satisfying pedicure of my life! The pedicure chairs are separated from the rest of the salon, creating a more peaceful and quiet atmosphere vs most places where you are staring at everyone else. The scrub they use felt like it was really exfoliating my skin. I also had a gel french manicure on June 20 and it's July 11 and only started to chip on my first fingers yesterday, a solid 3 weeks of pristine manicure amid lots of travel, packing, and beach days. I will definitely be back. And who doesn't love a good back massage while your nails are being done?! 4 stars because it was a pricey experience, but honestly, so worth it for my sanity and 3 weeks of beauty. read more

I see here it's says New 4U Nail. I wonder if it's under new ownership. I've gone there in the past, found it pricey, but felt it was worth it because they really took their time and gave you a good manicure/pedicure. Well something has changed. It's still very pricey but they rush you through there and do a crummy job. My daughter's pedicure barely lasted 17 minutes!! I had booked a manicure and a 10-minute back massage for myself. After she finished my pedicure she said wait here. She proceeded to go do someone else's manicure. After about 10 minutes I got up and said I'm just going to pay and leave. With that they said no no a few more minutes. Don't take someone ahead of me when I have already booked the time. And honestly after the crummy pedicure I got I didn't really want the back massage. I've been coming here a long time, and I think they do a decent job it's very clean, everyone's very kind and there are a lot of colors to choose from. That being said, the prices have raised a lot over the past few years and I don't think it's gotten better. I got a gel manicure which was $40, not an unfair price except that she didn't painty entire nail. If you're going to charge 40 for a gel manicure then i shouldn't leave with nails looking like they've grown out already. Pedicure was okay but a little sloppy. I love this nail salon, I've been going once a week for a manicure and sometimes a pedi too. While yes, it is a little overpriced, the staff are still super friendly and the place is clean. I've also never had to wait longer than 15 minutes and I tend to go around 5.30-6ish. I think the fact it gets busy speaks for itself - it's popular. Whenever I need a mani/pedi this is my go to. The selection of colors they have is so abundant it usually takes me 5 minutes just to decide on a shade. Although it is usually extremely busy, I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. They also take the time to try and seat you next to whoever you may have come with which is always appreciated. I usually opt for a manicure, which is $12, I would consider this price to be very fair as I have seen manicures in the surrounding areas for around $8-$20. Once and a while my manicure doesn't last as long as I would have hoped but if it chips the next day just swing by and they will happily touch it up for you. Since moving back home I have gotten my manicures here every week and they are always perfect. I rarely ever have to wait more than Agee minutes and they make sure to keep my nails looking great and feeling strong. They have advanced their manicures with top quality base coats and a strengthening quick-dry top coats which will set you back $12 but is well worth it. While I choose to go weekly I rarely actually need to since the nails stay like new for up to 10 days which is incredible for a basic manicure. I have also had pedicures which are great but nothing too special. I have had gel as well which was also done to perfection. I have tried other places and it is simply not worth it. I've been here a few times, and it's only ok. They go very fast and skip a lot of the steps in a regular mani or pedi. It only took them 30min for them to do my hands and feet. This is my local salon and I love them! Lucky me! The prices are high, but if it's quality work, I don't mind paying. They have a huge selection of polishes (gel, non-gel and longer-lasting). Extremely clean and sanitary. I know others complain about the speed at which they work - "too fast", but I am busy and I want to get my nails done and go. I'm not there to be entertained. No one can deny that this nail salon is absolutely beautiful, amazingly clean, and also outrageously expensive. I've given this place countless chances and they disappoint every single time. 9 out of 10 of their employees are just downright rude. I've never been to a nail salon where I literally had to BEG for a callous removal. The employee told me "it's too late for that". I don't understand how it could be too late for a callous removal when she hadn't even painted my nails yet. I kept insisting, I even said I would pay extra for the removal and she just would not do it. From my point of view, she was just too lazy to go back and get her hands wet. It's moments like these at this nail salon that I've had dozens of times. People don't even greet you with a smile or even a hello when they begin your appointment. Here they are touching my feet and my hands for an hour and they haven't even made eye contact with me! So bizarre! I'm a very friendly person and the way I treat others is the way I want to be treated! It's not worth spending your time in an unpleasant and unfriendly environment and it sure isn't worth all the money you're spending. It's so hard to find a good nail salon on Long Island but 4U Nail is it! I am an extremely particular person when it comes to my nails and I couldn't be happier with Susan and I wouldn't go to any other person!(But don't get me wrong all the techs are very talented and def know what they are doing! I wouldn't hesitate going to someone else, its just that Susan does a great job in shaping my nails and she's fun to chat with!) I get so many compliments on my almond shaped nails and recommend them to all of my friends! Their pedicures are also out of this world! The chairs are super comfortable and give a great message as they work on your toes. There are so many services to choose from as well. The staff is very professional and always friendly and smiling. The salon itself is very very very clean which is HUGE because there are so many germy nail salons and its hard to find one to trust. There is a huge color selection for both Gel Manicures and Regular and they always help you pick out a color and are super patient. 4U Nails gets 5 Stars! I'd give more if I could! read more

I do not recommend getting your nails done here! I went a few weeks ago for the first time, place looks very nice and clean but a couple weeks after my pedicure I noticed my polish had chipped and under my polish i noticed white marks all over my nails. I then took off all of the polish with remover and saw that my nails are extremely discolored and the texture is completely off. My natural nails are now a deep yellow with white bumps with some of my nails peeling. It's disgusting. I did not have this problem before getting my pedicure here. If you want to avoid getting a nail fungus like I now have, do not go here! Don't be fooled by the clean and tidy appearance of the salon like I did, clearly their tools and/or polishes are old and infected. Not to mention, they are expensive and the particular woman who did my pedicure was not pleasant at all. All around bad review, I will never go back here again and do not recommend it at all. Appointments mean nothing at this salon. This salon has some good points, some bad. The best feature is a no cell phone policy, which surprisingly most people follow. There is nothing worse than trying to relax and listen to some loser blabbing away too loud about stuff too personal. The staff is good, polite, but not all know everything. For example I was getting a pedicure and needed a silk wrap on a problem nail, another girl had to do it, so I had to tip her too. Don't they teach silk wraps at beauty school? The bad is you call to make an appointment, they agree, you get there only to wait, and wait, when you seem restless they put you in a chair, and you wait. Twice I've been made to wait 30 minutes! When it comes to my nails, I am extremely hard to please. Every nail needs to be filed and cut properly. I have never found a place that is so clean and great at nails. I recommend Gigi who is super fun and excellent! She does not rush, she does not miss a nail, she cuts every cuticle until there's nothing left. Exactly what I need to ensure a great and long lasting manicure. This place is so clean, they use disposable pedicure inserts that sit in the tub so your bacteria is not mixed with other customer's. They are extremely accommodating while making your visit worth while and enjoyable. The staff at 4U Nails does not compare to any other local nail salon. the exterior is very deceiving, it's a fairly large salon with several flat screen TVs, and quiet calming atmosphere with a new, hip zen like design. I came here because I needed a new local salon. Everything was clean and new, they have a never ending wall of colors to choose from, even their selection of Gel polish was big. I'm very pleased with the service and quality of my pedicure and gel-mani, but the price is YOWZA! I generally only treat myself to a mani/pedi every 4 months, or for a special occasion.
