I visited the beauty shop next door and wanted to purchase some incense sticks, so walked into the store. I was immediately greeted by a little boy behind the register who was the owner's son. The location was well lit, organized, and the shelves filled with many South Asian foods, spices, beauty products, etc. I asked the little boy where I could find the incenses; he asked his mom and he then said he would show me. He walked me over to the area where they had the many difference incense sticks. Just a few moments after, another young man asked me if I needed any help and I said, no thank you. Soon after the owner herself while stocking the shelves close by me asked me if I needed any help. I'm still trying to figure out if they merely thought I was lost, or they just have great customer care ;). Anyways, as I waked through the isles, I noticed the shelves were clean and organized. I love places like this. Not only is supporting them, supporting small, local businesses, but they sell things you will not find anywhere else. I only spent a very short time this visit and didn't buy too much, but will definitely go back. read more

Always a massively wide selection of Indian products. Love using this store as a foundation to my cuisine. The hospitality is generous. And always willing to give samples. I just called this place to find out if they have green cardamom in stock because another Indian store told me they don't have it due to all of the cardamom plants burning down. I haven't heard of this issue but I wanted to call around and check before driving far to get it. They lady on the phone said they have the 1lb bag and the 2lb bag in stock. I thanked her for checking and then I asked her how much they are, she told me "I don't know the price. You can come here and check." I enjoy coming to this store for the herbal powders. You do have to check the manufacture dates because sometimes the products are a little old, but besides that, they have great selection. My hubby also likes to get some British candy and cookies that they happen to sell in Indian grocers as well. Staff is helpful whenever I have questions. Overall, good store. They also serve limited menu for finger foods and sweets and they also opened a henna place next door which is connected to the store thru a door....I haven't checked that yet . These guys are absolutely stocked. I love Indian food and cooking Indian food and this is my go to place for spices. They have never failed me. Every time I try a new recipe and it has some obscure (or at least obscure to me) spice or ingredient, they have always had it. I tried a few other places closer to me before discovering these guys and each one of them fell short. These guys have not. And the prices. Wow. Try going to a regular grocery store and getting a jar of curry powder, or garam masala, or coriander seeds. Sometimes you feel like you'll have to fill out a mortgage application at the checkstand. Not so with these guys. For example, I got a one pound (yes POUND) jar of chili powder that was very flavorful, high quality, and HOT! $4.99. You can't even get one that big at a grocery store. Even the small jars will cost you even more than this one. They also have a nice selection of those foiled sealed prepared foods that I am finding are really good as well. There's a bhindi masala they usually have that is really, really good. I've been going there for years and somewhat recently they opened up a cafeteria style vegetarian restaurant. I've tried a few things there on a whim when I had the time. Also very good. read more

Spiceland is small and on a tiny strip mall easily missed. If you are looking for a big inventory go elsewhere. The produce area is very tiny and the items looked like they were making themselves at home. If you haven't stocked up on colors for Holi Re festivities they have a huge selection so shop on. I was happy to find the brand of Pani Puri I was looking for and it's destination is gol gappa land. In terms of their spice inventory, they do have a pretty good variety, but I never trust a spice shop where one cannot smell the spices.... and so it goes. The proprietor was very helpful and readily available to answer questions. If you are a fan of old Bollywood flicks have a seat in their small dining area and enjoy a paneer wrap which is not half bad. Daddy enjoyed it, but he has never had what I call "real" Indian food. The Paneer Dosa was just okay outside and did not appear to have very fresh ingredients in the filling. The chutney, lentil soup and raita were way to salty for my taste. However, the Paneer Wrap was very nice with sauteed peppers and onions and a much better deal for my $4.99. I ordered 2 ladoo to go and am saving them for dessert tonight so the jury is out on that. My favorite part of the meal was their freshly brewed chai, the balance and distinction of the spice ingredients was very good. read more

This is my first time here for any service. My friend recommended me to come here for the henna tattoo. I am rating this place 5 stars because they were quick, and their service was great! Everyone was very nice and welcoming and I think that is a big deal. They have a book of henna designs but you can also look one up on your own. I found a very intricate sleeve design but they were able to do it and it was done within 30 minutes. Not long at all, I was expecting so much longer. Definitely would recommend this place!!! I eat a lot of Indian food, and this is the best place I've found that's reasonably priced. The fact that the entire menu is vegetarian is amazing, and everything tastes delicious. I'm honestly addicted to their samosas. The woman at the counter is nice, and if you're polite she gives a bit extra of whatever you eat. Two girls I know have gotten their eyebrows done here and they both look great. - I'm planning on getting some more piercings in my ears here in the next couple of weeks. read more

Came here with a friend for the first time.My friend came to get his eye brows threaded so I thought that there wouldn't really be any harm getting a little trim. Lets just say I wasnt fully comfortable with some lady making me looks like I had gotten my eyebrows threaded all the way down. I let her know very carefully that I wanted barely anything done (which I'm guessing is a common thing for a guy to say). Once she started right smack in the middle, which is what I was mainly focused on, I thought to myself this isn't so bad. Then she asked me to hold my eyes down with my fingers then I realized that it wasn't all fun and games anymore and I could feel every little hair being pulled off. For a very inexpensive fix up this place was pretty nice but its safe to say I won't be coming back for a while. read more

the groceries here are out dated. they keep changing labels of expiry date. never buy rice here. they have worms and insects in the rice bags. earlier they used t have small place for restaurant. now only ToGo. never eat Dosa here. they do better job when u order any north indian dishes. since its take out only, they cook fresh. read more
