I have a 2015 Audi, and when I first got the car, it came with quite a few major issues. After speaking with Harry, he immediately put both my partner and me at ease. One of the things I appreciate most about Harry is how upfront he is about repairs and maintenance. He'll tell you what actually needs to be taken care of right away, what can wait, and which repairs are going to be more expensive. He's also transparent about pricing, including the difference between paying the flat rate versus using a credit card and having to account for the additional service fee. Most importantly, he doesn't try to upsell you. He has never made me feel like I needed to pay for unnecessary repairs or pressured me into having additional work done. If something can wait, he'll tell you it can wait. That kind of honesty is incredibly hard to find in a mechanic. I came here to bring the company vehicle for maintenance. Customer service here is really great very helpful. Harry the mngr , very wise and straightforward. Auto shop is located on the main street so really busy hard to find any kind of parking here. The mechanics here are very thorough quick honest, reliable. Waiting area is really small, but it does have a couch and chairs to sit and wait for you vehicle. Price here is great mostly just paying for parts labor is great price would definitely recommend bringing a vehicle here for any kind of work. read more

The rear brake sensor was signaling (on and off) and the front axle would make clicking sounds during turns. I have an old 2000 Honda Prelude and it's been experiencing a whole slew of issues. Oil leaks, temperature gauge is always rising when its idle and it hadn't received an oil change in a year; to say I was neglecting my car is an understatement because I wasn't driving it a whole lot due to the Pandemic. However, I needed to find a shop I can trust and I asked my sister and hubby for their recommendation and they told me about this shop. Harry and his team are knowledgeable, trustworthy and friendly. They replaced my timing belt, radiator and gave me a full oil change/ tune up! It was not a cheap bill and cost me over $1900 however, I drive an old car and those couple of years of neglect caused a lot of wear and tear on my car. All in all, I highly recommend this shop. They do good work, they are honest, and also very straightforward. I really like how I was asked before any work took place if I was OK with the price and I appreciate their strong communication bc a lot of shops just do the work and don't let you know about the price until the very end. At the time the compressor was replaced, New Century said the radiator also needed to be replaced. The car is leaking out the coolant and overheating. I bet they changed the radiator with some crappy after market POS radiator and probably did not change the radiator and heater hoses. read more

As the owner of a 1984 Mercedes Benz 380SL since 1984, I have not had a problem having my car serviced until the Pandemic. The company who had been in business for 30 years went under. I fortunately found another company with a similar history and the second year of the pandemic went out of business also. So, I of course in a panic, I was relieved when New Century Auto comes highly recommended and to ask for Harry. I am extremely pleased with the work that was initially completed by New Century Auto that included a high idle, extensive muffler repair including new hangers, brackets and repairing and installing my side bumper. Honestly Harry is a nice guy don't get me wrong, he has a clean shop but I feel like he definitely rips off women. I towed my VW in on a Saturday and he never called me to let me know they received it which it fine I'm sure he's busy but he didn't even call to let me know what the problem with the car was. I kept calling for days and days and everyone kept giving me the run around. "Harry will call you. Blah blah blah." I never received a call. So that immediately set me off. I finally was able to get a hold of Harry and he said it was in need of a new coil pack and that it was going to be $400. I get it but $400? It doesn't take that long to do it let alone should it be THAT much. I feel like his price was wayyyyy too steep and he tried to take advantage that I was a women. I went to go pick up my car, he charged $80 for just looking at it and said he spend "4 hours on it" which seemed like bullshit to me. Bought the coil pack and had my husband fix it.. The part was literally $120.... so $400 just to take the old part off and put the new one in is ridiculous. My husband maybe spent 1 minute doing it. ‍ total rip-off off. TLDR; They "absorbed" the parts I bought and brought to them to have put in my car and put some other parts instead, and didn't tell me. I liked this place at first. My fiancee took his car there for body repairs and recommended them as they were fair and diligent. So last year my driver side headlight blew out. I was going to fix it myself only I come to find that the previous owner installed a custom light set and that the whole thing would have to be taken out and replaced. I didn't want to get another custom set, and I couldn't take the lights out myself because I don't have tools or a garage, so I ordered a set of standard headlight sockets, and two headlight bulbs and I called New century to explain my problem and ask if they could fix it. The mechanic said he'd need to see it first to know if he'd be able to fix it. I take my car down there with the parts and whatnot and explain again that I just needed them to take out the custom set and put in the standard headlight sockets and bulbs so that I could fix my headlights myself in the future if they blew out. They agree to do it for $80. I was so grateful and I agreed and sat in the office while they worked on my car. It took them about an hour and BLAMMO it was done. The mechanic took me out to my car to show me the headlights were working and everything was hunky dory until just a day ago. My head light blew out again, so I opened up my hood to replace the bulb and discovered that they didn't put in the sockets I purchased but some shittier ones. They never mentioned that there was a problem with the ones I bought, and they never gave me my parts back. When they changed my lights they only gave me back the custom set that I asked them to take out. I don't know how else to put this. They straight up jacked the parts I bought. It's not like I paid a lot for the parts, but it's the principal of trust. I could see if the parts didn't fit then tell me, give me back the ones I bought so I can return them, and charge me for ones you have on hand that you had to put in. Communicate to your customers. I can't help but think that if they would take a $6 pair of headlight sockets, what's to stop them from taking more expensive parts. Either way I leave it to anyone reading this to decide how you feel. Maybe they think women are stupid and deserve to get screwed. Maybe they thought "$6. I wipe my ass with $6." Either way, I won't go back. I don't trust them anymore. read more

I've known Harry for years. He is legitimately an honest guy who cares about the quality and craftsmanship of his work. Our entire family of cars (5) is exclusively cared by Harry and his crew. Recently the switch went out on my old 89 BMW e30, which any unscrupulous mechanic could have blamed on a faulty regulator and swapped it out, easily charging me a few hundred dollars. Instead, he diagnosed the problem to be a faulty window switch and busts out his handy soldering iron to fix the faulty circuit. That's reusing resources and doing things the old fashion way. And how much for all this labor? $30. I feel terrible for waiting this long before reviewing Harry. If you ever stop by New Century Auto Repair, ask Harry about outer space. Since the last time I reviewed him, I brought the Ridgeline in for a door lock actuator, valve adjustment, and o2 sensor before finally delivering it to Rawlings Audio; Wife's Civic for a new a/c compressor, fluid changes, brakes, etc.; and cousin's Civic for a timing belt, water pump, accessory belts, valve adjustment, and plugs; and now the new Silverado for an intake and exhaust install. I have a lift kit for the truck coming in that I'll have him install. Wife's car is in need of an alignment too, so maybe I'll just have him use his alignment guy for that. I see myself spending some good money with Harry in the not so distant future, but that's because I trust him and David. read more

I went to another mechanic that was closer to me that told me it was going to be $800 for front brake pads and i needed new rotars and then came down twice when I said no. MY boyfriend has taken cars here before so I made the hour drive and brought it in to get a quote. I shared the diagnostic paperwork from the other shop and he told me they only tested the outside pad on their machine and that mine were worn unevenly. He said I didn't need rotars, they could resurfaced. I actually had both sets of brake pads replaced, rotars resurfaced, and it was less than the other quote. I feel Harry is fair and honest. He was also able to fix the switch on my passenger window vs replacing the whole motor and unit. This man has the mind of and engineer! Trustworthy, fair and hard working. This place ripped me off. I was given an estimate of 150$ by Harry. My car was having trouble starting, and Harry said I needed a new alternator. He calls me the next day and says my car is ready to be picked up. I'm all excited about this. I get there and he gives me a bill for 950$. He says" it needed a new alternator, generator and a battery." I never approved of all these extra repairs. When I disputed the bill, he says "take me to court". I had no choice but to pay or else I wouldn't get my car back. I'm now talking to attorneys to see about small claims court. This place should be investigated for fraud. read more

How is it possible that New Century Auto has 5 stars on Yelp? There is something seriously wrong here. Typically, I don't like to give 1-star reviews. It usually isn't THAT bad. But I have never had a worse experience getting my car fixed. Here's what happened: my Honda Civic had just passed the 100K mile mark, so I decided to be proactive and get my timing belt changed. A few days later, I drove to San Francisco, and had some serious issues (to keep this brief, I will not go into detail). I stopped at a garage in SF, and was informed it was most likely due to an error from the timing belt work. So I brought it back to New Century (assuming they would fix it for free). They claimed it was not there fault - and charged me full price. Shortly afterwards, my check engine light went on. Again, assuming it was due to their errors, I brought it back. No such luck. I am embarrassed to admit that I spent $150 for them to replace my gas cap and to fix my cruise control (which they didn't actually fix). And to top it off, a few days later, the check engine light went back on. I got the distinct feeling that Harry thought he could take advantage of me because I'm a woman, and probably don't know anything about cars. Needless to say, after dropping nearly a grand at this place, and dealing with Harry's rude attitude, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

Harry and the whole New Century crew are fantastic. They are quick, friendly, and reliable. The shop is an hour away from where I live, but I refuse to go anywhere else! Harry is extremely knowledgeable about every problem I've had with my Audi (which can be tricky cars over a certain mileage) and cares enough to explain the issue and different options to find a solution. Harry and David were extremely helpful in helping me diagnose an alignment issue. I bought my 2001 M5 salvaged at 20k miles back in 2007, and have had countless alignments since then. Every single shop, no matter how highly reviewed on Yelp, gave me an alignment, charged me upwards of $100 each, and could not get the alignemnt perfect, citing that because the car was involved in a front end collision it would be impossible. Well, after some frame measurements Harry performed, he identified that 1. the frame was straight (thank goodness) and 2. it needed a new suspension spindle, as it was probably bent in the accident. 7 years, over 7 different alignment shops, and Harry was the first to care enough to recommend a solution? I ordered the part and it arrived a couple days later. I stopped by early in the morning and it was already a full house. Harry started moving cars around and worked on my car personally, and an hour later, it was good to bring to the alignment shop. Not only did he give me a solution to my problem that I was told my whole life it was something I had to live with, but he did it in a reasonable amount of time at a good price. It's hard to find trustworth mechanics, but I can wholeheartedly recommend Harry and David for all services needed. I'm going to be coming back to replace my serpentine belts as soon as I'm able. read more

These guys are amazing, kind, generous, friendly, honest, and great at what they do. Harry really goes out of his way to take care of his customers (and their friends too, apparently!). I got to talk to the other guys for a bit as well, but never got their names...sorry! I came in, told him which friend sent me, then while they were supposed to be doing a diagnostic, they just went on fixing minor things -- on the house!! I insisted that I at least give them something, so they charged me the minimum credit amount. I told another friend, and she said that the same thing happened when she brought her car here. Ladies, this is where you want to bring your car. Their quotes are fair, sometimes they throw in extra work, they definitely DON'T try to rip anyone off. Matter of fact, when I was leaving, I called my Uncle (who is a mechanic in NY), and told him my quote from them for the catalytic converter I have to come back for, and he said that they gave me a great price. We've been taking our POS MINI Cooper here for nearly 5 years. The first time, they did $1500 worth of work without a confirmation from us. We let it slide because we needed the car fixed anyway. They've installed little bits on the car that were broken, with parts we purchased. That was good. What has not been good is the clutch. They first said they fixed it in fall of '13. Both me & my husband kept bringing it back because it was still not driving correctly. I mean like, there was a month where we took it back FOUR times. The pedal shuddered, there was an awful burning smell and I just couldn't get the car into 2nd gear without some force. The car would also just jump out of gear while driving. We spent all this year telling them this. In the spring of '14, David showed me a part with some bearings and hinges that were loose. I told him to fix it. We got the car back only to learn they just put it together with some silicone glue. o.O July '14 - Nov '14, we took the car back 5 times. This last time because the car revved up, popped out of gear, then just stopped. Thanksgiving weekend, we towed the car back to the shop, just just a mere 5 weeks after the last time we towed it back. Now, they say it's a problem with the clutch (DUH!) it'll cost us $600. The parts company won't honor their warranty and NCA is charging us to fix what they should've fixed in the first place. At this point, I'm done with them. I'll let them install a new glove box or window, but never again will they work under the hood. read more

One of the owner's wives's called the cops on me when I was like 10 years old or something playing with his daughter our neighbors. A Family friends, with ties. The same owner's car broke down, lexus, while he was giving me a ride. Also, I gave them 5000 for a 3s-gte swap, and they not only fucked up my rear runner circuit, they fucked up my alternator circuit, and wanted 2500k more, for a shitty job. They not only didn't change out the TRD shifter, they gave another random kid with a mr2 and 3s-gte way better service and body work... They also fucked up my uncles cars a few times, and arn't honest with their customers as they can b. I say 2 people can do a better job than all of them combined, or 1 engineer/scientist. I tried to call harry this morning to ask why a car with a HKS Stopper Headgasket and 5k in the engine bay overheated, and why they did a shitty job on the wires and didn't add better wiring or a distributor plug cap baffles me... or a better radiator cap. Celica (Runs) - They Turned it into something (Wiring Problems, Alt Circuit and Lights and getting worse ) - Overheating Problems (Didn't put on big enough Radiator or Proper Fans)... Terrible service "He doesn't want to talk to me" Its my fault 5 people can't do their jobs... read more

Ask for Harry! I've been coming here for 5-6 years now. The guys are great and friendly. Harry is very helpful and he will try his best to fix your car. Sometimes, if the same problem keeps coming back, he will not charge you until the problem is fully fixed. The prices are reasonable and service is quick. They open early, close late, and open on Saturdays. One of the best auto shop in the area. They also do body work and they do a good job fixing dents and paint job. Highly recommended auto shop. No matter how busy they are, they will make you their first priority. read more
