(Replacing a sewer line in lake barrington shores) Total disregard for rules, regulations and homeowners. Shoddy workmanship, unprofessional. I called New Century Plumbing on a Wednesday, and had scheduled an appointment for the upcoming Friday. I was told the plumber would call me on Friday to schedule the exact time. When Friday afternoon came, with no phone call ever received, I called New Century Plumbing again to find out what was going on. The gentleman on the phone (the same person I spoke to earlier) informed me he forgot to add my name, number and address to his list. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and tried to schedule a second appointment for Sunday. It's now Sunday afternoon and still no call. I contacted another plumber. Came out and fixed my leaking toilet which just had to be reset. Also fixed the fact that it took ten minutes to fill up but I never paid attention to before. Now it takes ten seconds to fill up and is working much better. read more

This is the worst customer service I ever encountered. I called the store on Tuesday (9/19) 10:30 am and requested the house visit to fix water heater gas control valve. The guy answered the phone (not sure if it's the owner or dispatcher) and indicated that the service technician will be on the way in 2 hours. I waited for 4 hours until 2 pm. I called back and the guy said he was too busy to handle my case. I called back next day (9/20) at 9:30 am. He said he thought I would fix the gas control valve by myself. The service call was cancelled. I said I never mentioned that to him. He asked what my schedule looks like. I said it's pretty open and flexible. He said someone would come by by the end of day by 5 pm. It never happened. I called 3rd time on (9/21) Thursday morning and no one answered the call. I finally realized that I was fooled by this old man. What a JOKE! read more

I found wet carpet, damaged dry wall, and water everywhere in my kitchen and office at mid night on the Labor Day. It was coming from a broken refrigerator ice maker hose and leaking pretty badly. I called several 24/7 nearby plumbing places, no answer or promised they'd come out and call in 10 min, but no follow up..I finally found New Century. Kevin said he'd come out in 30 min, he showed up, fixed the issue professionally and the service fee was reasonable. I'm glad I found his company. Very professional service and great experience. I was out of town on business when my main sump pump failed during rain and snow melt. My back up took over. The back up alarm went off which alerted my wife that there was an issue. When she called me it was midnight. I called 3 plumbers all of which were less than interested in my business. I found New Century on line, called, and Kevin answered right away. We scheduled the repair, he kept me up to date via text knowing I was out of town and had his guy get there pronto. I love this guy. Old school honest. It was clear that he knows what he is doing. Our pipes were too close to the outside wall, and he corrected the problem by replacing the spigot that closes further back from the wall so it doesn't freeze in the winter. read more

I have never reviewed a business on Yelp before, but feel I need to make sure everyone knows how impressed I was with this business and plumber Kevin King. My husband was deployed overseas when a pipe in my basement burst and began gushing water at 10:30 one night. Mr. King came out to my home that night, assessed the situation and made me feel instantly confident that I had called the right place. The next day his team was out to my house correcting the issue, and Mr. explained my options for preventing the issue from happening again. I hired his team again to replace several old pipes that were at the root (pun intended, since the issue was tree roots in my pipes) of the back-up. The work was completed quickly and professionally, and Mr. King was in regular communication with me the whole time. Never once did I feel pressure and I always felt comfortable asking questions. This company made me feel that they genuinely cared about the quality of their work and about my satisfaction with it. I would hire this company again for the next time I need plumbing work done.
