Such an awesome spot. Came here for the first time for some sadness soup as I was coming home from a funeral. Their wonton soup was absolutely everything I needed and wanted. My husband was born and raised in hong Kong and he agreed on how solid this is. We went back and got the salt and pepper shrimp which had a kick I didn't expect but LOVED! Solid Chinese takeout spot. I've ordered from here a few times now and it's always been a good experience. I live about a block away so it's nice to have a good Chinese takeout place close by for the nights when you just don't feel like cooking. Wait time is usually about 15-20 minutes for pickup. As is customary with Chinese takeout, the portions are very generous. Some entrees come with a side of rice in addition to the fried rice order, so we always have a ton of rice. My favorite is the honey chicken. They put the sauce on the side so I can control how much sauce I want. There's nothing worse than your chicken being so drenched in sauce that it's soggy. The chicken stays super crisp. I've also had the general tso, Orange chicken, spring rolls, and crab rangoons (could have put more filling but not bad). I moved here from New York a few years ago and, until discovering this place, had not had any decent Chinese food. The food from here is not greasy, in my opinion it's flavored well, and prices are outstanding. LOVE their egg rolls!! I alternate between the General Tao's chicken (which is the perfect spice level for me), roast pork egg foo young, and chicken with broccoli. They offer lunch and dinner combination plates (dinner combos include rice, soup, and egg roll) and party platters. I know they offer Japanese dishes as well, have never tried those but would be willing to bet it's just as good. I used to order here all the time when I lived in Kendall. It was good... it was cheap... it was close to home... These three things have become lies. The steamed dumplings weren't so bad... but they aren't good anymore and they come over a bed of... dare I say lettuce?... that is long past its recognizability stage. The wonton soup is closer to be yellow water with some stuff floating, and some red shavings at the bottom... and I count three sub-par attempts of won-ton that would feel very much at home at a wet cardboard box filled with moist toilet paper. The fried rice was decent, though it was supposed to be the "special", and I feel it fell a bit short, but flavor was good, texture was good and it had stuff in it (ham, pork, egg, shrimps, etc.). I'm VERY disappointed on how this place's quality has dropped. It's never been gourmet or anything, but for such a small take out joint it used to be pretty decent... well above average... They offer sushi too, but after trying the cooked food I probably wouldn't risk it. And it isn't as if service is a dream come true, either. They are respectful and efficient, but won't earn any friendliness prizes anytime soon. The parking lot is pretty small, but they don't take too much time to get you your order... the problem it that it looks like the restaurant next door may be dine-in and that could possibly cause all the spots to be occupied. read more

One of my favorite spots to order out from when I have a long shift at work. I've been trying out Ma Po Tofu at a couple of different Chinese restaurants in the area and New China II has the best so far! The spice doesn't hit you immediately so you're able to eat it, the mushrooms add a nice bite, and it's not oily unlike some other restaurants I've tried it at. I called to let them know that they got it wrong, I was told that chow main means more vegetables and lo mein means noodles. Not a huge deal since I didn't expect change from a delivery driver. Paid him and he refused to give me my food, saying "tip is not included." I told him that tip is not mandatory. He insists "tips is not included. Are you not going to tip." He did not hand over my food until I asked pointedly "so are you not going to give me my food?"
